Zumba with Tameka! Tameka is great instructor she knows how to keep you moving and grooving to all of the music such as dance (top 40), soca, reggae, salsa, meringue. the list is endless. I’ve gone to numerous Zumba classes over the years, consistent sometimes and not so consistent. I’m just now getting back into it, because my body and my health misses it and needs it. Tameka presently teaches at this location on Tuesdays at 6:30pm and Thursdays at 6:15pm. I also sometimes attend her class taught at another location on Saturdays.
As far as the venue, the studio is located right off of Miami Blvd in Durham. It consists of two separate houses. I have attended line dancing as well as Zumba classes in both houses with different instructors and love the studios. It has wood floors, high ceilings, good ventilation, and air condition. There’s also a bathroom in each studio and windows that can be opened especially when the class becomes heavily steamed. There’s plenty of parking which is graveled. It’s kind of a chore getting out of there, especially when you have to play a game of chicken during rush hour on Miami Blvd. You should be able to find and schedules on meetup for any of the classes taught here at the studio.

Triangle Dance Studio has a lot going on! Primarily I come here for the Latin Dance related classes and events organized by the Cobo Brothers Dance Company, who are very talented dancers and excellent teachers. They offer several levels of salsa classes, ladies styling, and bachata, in addition to occasional workshops with out of town teachers. They teach salsa On2, which has been a little hard for me to get used to, as I first learned On 1, but I’m trying! There is always a salsa social on Sunday evenings (in the front building).
I have also come for a special Zumba workshop hosted by Leigh and it was a great workout and a lot of fun!
Please be careful pulling in and out of the parking lot. It can be tricky during high traffic. I wish they would do something about the entrance to make it safer and easier to find!
