The Play House Toy Store

this is a wonderful store! when I shop here, I take my time to look and always find neat items for many different ages… my daughter loves to play and discover stuff there while I shop. excellent customer service too!

Intriguing storefront display but slightly lacking in terms of merchandise. Items of interest included a dollhouse, some plastic instruments, and some other knickknacks; good for small children but boring for anybody else.

My kids have been begging to go in since they can see a giant Lego soldier on the window. It’s definitely a cute and appealing teaser. Unfortunately, the store is far too small for how much is in it. It’s way crowded and everything was in such disarray, it was very difficult to enjoy. I was able to spot some cool toys, but it was so overcrowded with new arrivals, boxes, wrappers, and stuff piled on top of each other on the shelves and on the floor, that I didn’t even want to spend a second longer inside. The counter by the register was so stuffed with mail, toys, etc, I couldn’t turn the displays that rotate. It made me sad since I had been exploring some new toy stores in the area and was really looking forward to finding a locally-​owned store to support. All that said, I’m definitely going back a second time. The lady was super friendly, even though it was close to closing time and she apologized for the disorder. It’s definitely got potential and deserves a second chance.

There’s something kind of charming about finding a classic toy store on a university thoroughfare, right along with the bars and coffee shops. The Play House is an eclectic, inviting store with Raffi playing in the background, and a good selection of arts and crafts-​type toys, musical toys, and puzzles… toys that require a little mental engagement on the part of the user, if you will.
