We specialize in customized trims on all breeds with emphasis on your dogs’ individual appearance and personality. While we keep breed profiles in mind, every effort is made to meet the needs of both your dog and you as a parent. This is all accomplished in a more relaxed, less commercial, atmosphere where both of you can feel at home.

History

Established in 1989.

We began as a small one-​woman grooming shop in the late eighties. While raising a family from preschool to grad school, the shop remained small and intimate until 2010 when school was finally finished and the business took center stage! Now we are continuing to expand to meet a growing need while still maintaining the integrity of the original ideal — provide caring, professional, top quality grooming in a boutique environment that welcomes the family.

Business Owner

After 30 years as a professional groomer, and time before that as a bather/​groomer apprentice, I still find it hard to talk about myself! I began in Durham as a bather in one of only two grooming shops in the county (how times have changed)! I graduated to groomer, was licensed by National Dog Groomers Association of America in 1987, and eventually opened my own shop. Over the years, I have groomed thousands of dogs, been a part of two grooming organizations– NDGAA and IPG-​, attended conferences and seminars as a part of ongoing training, and been fortunate enough to have been a part of more families than I can count. At this point in my career, I don’t feel the need to compete or to certify (although I support the process). I have found that what I value most about grooming is the interaction with each dog’s personality and the artwork that I get to practice with each clip. Being with your dog for his whole life is what makes this profession most rewarding…
