Dirty utensils served with the food… Check all Forks… management thought it no big deal!

This was my first time at McAlister’s Deli. It was close to work for a quick lunch break and I was pleasantly surprised. for many reasons. 1) Service: We went during peak lunch hours and got our meal about 5 minutes after we sat down. The restaurant wasn’t crazy packed, but I was impressed. During the course of an hour, two people stopped by to ask if we were doing okay and if the food was good. 2) Options: The variety of soups, salads, sandwiches, spuds was vast. So many too mix and match for a lunch option and the portions are very filling for a lunch menu. 3) Quality: I got a choose two: Savannah chopped salad and the veggie club. The salad was a substantial size and absolutely fantastic! They weren’t conservative with their toppings which was nice because it wasn’t just a bowl of lettuce. I would have asked for the club sandwich on a bigger slice of bread so I could hold all of the veggies, but other than that the meal was great. The famous sweet tea was fantastic. I got greedy and got one of the heath cookies to go… it was delicious and enormous. My coworkers had the French dip sandwich, a turkey melt, and mac and cheese for their sides and really enjoyed their meals. The restaurant was clean and spacious, and the décor on the walls was fun. I will definitely be coming here again with my team for lunch.

So any Deli that says they have grilled sandwiches but uses a panini press should be ashamed! I always judge by a Ruben. And mine was blah. They don’t have a fryer so no French fries. Pickle tasted like it was soaking in Lysol. Won’t be back!

I’ve been coming here for lunch quite often as its convenient to my work and I’ve really enjoyed the food! I will say some days are better than others when it comes to food but the staff are always great and the food is always served quickly. I absolutely love their sweet tea! I recommend the French dip sandwich and their ultimate nachos are pretty good. My only complaint about the nachos is the corn chips they use are pretty salty. I really like the Savannah salad if you want something a little healthier! If you need a lunch spot, this one is a great place to go.

How the heck does this place have almost 4 stars? I got a sandwich that I could barely eat it was so messy and gross. They do give you huge drink cups, that’s nice. The service is good– but the food did not seem fresh. I am going to be like Scott K and give you a grade: Food: D Staff: A Décor: B Location: B(not sure why you do location Scott K., since the convenience is different for everyone– ha ha) I’ll give it a B because it’s in a shopping center area?

A great deli with soups, sandwiches, salads, and their famous gigantic spuds loaded with various toppings rounding out the menu. This place is casual and family friendly. I’ve eaten here on 3 different occasions and have never been disappointed.

Salads, sandwiches, soups, spuds and sweet tea is what this deli serves. They do make a good sweet tea although it is rather too sweet. The salads and sandwiches are decent and of decent size for the price. If you are craving a spud with some toppings, get ready for a large spud on your tray. The food is always great, & friendly service. The baked potatoes are HUGE! Lots of choices of how to dress up your potato along with soups & sandwiches. Great lunch spot, good prices, I have never been disappointed eating here.

We came to McAlister’s because Jason’s Deli was full, so I was already kind of disappointed. I LOVE Jason’s Deli(see review). However, McAlister’s didn’t look too bad; deli sandwiches, great seating, cheesy but polished décor, and prices seemed okay. Expecting the sandwiches to be around the same size as Jason’s Deli’s, I ordered a half sandwich instead of a whole one(Smoked Pepper Jack Turkey) and got mac n’ cheese. I’m not sure what to say; it was okay, but not amazing. It didn’t blow me away, and it was definitely enough food for me, though I was startled by the tiny half-sandwich in front of me. I couldn’t taste the bacon(was there even any in it? I should’ve checked, I guess), and I was pretty disappointed because I really love bacon. It was only $ 5.32 though, so I can’t complain. However, I think I prefer Jason’s Deli: x The service is good; they’re brisk, efficient, and polite. The line isn’t very long and there will definitely be enough seating. I felt a little sick after dinner and had to go to the bathroom. Not sure if it’s correlated with my lunch at McAlister’s; none of my dinner companions felt ill, but then again, I didn’t feel terribly ill. I just really needed to go to the bathroom, but I was fine afterwards.

I’m so close to just giving this place 5 stars and being done with it. I just love this place and always have this place in the back of my mind for those places where you pull out of your back pocket whenever you need a place to go to. When I was working in New Orleans for months, I would go here twice a day for lunch AND dinner. The baked potatoes, chips and salsa, sandwiches, and iced tea. It’s just always fresh and so good. Now I have to go here tomorrow for lunch!

The food is always great. The service is friendly. It can be a little slow, especially for baked potatoes, but other than that this is a great place with plenty of choices and it won’t break the bank. Great for work lunches too.

I reserve 1 star reviews for inedible food, physical illness, or egregiously negligent service. Congrats, McAlister’s, you managed to get me sick! And I’ve eaten off very questionable street food carts in foreign countries without a problem… Can I prove absolutely that they did it? No, of course note. Unless other people come forward with the same complaint from the day of my initial review. I think nausea and gastrointestinal distress within 12 hours of eating there(and not eating anything else) makes it a prime suspect. They were really running behind and struggling to keep up that day, so I wouldn’t be surprised if hygiene slipped somewhere.

Had my first visit to McAlister’s today and enjoyed a terrific pastrami & corned beef on rye… best in the area, by far. Also, the potato salad was the best I’ve EVER had from a restaurant! Quick service, good food, good prices… definitely will go back.
