Kimmi’s Confection Expressions is a local, privately owned cake decorating service and sole proprietorship, located in Durham, NC., established in July of 2010. Our company motto is «Adding beauty and delight to your celebration!» We specialize in custom-​ordered, uniquely artistic, hand-​decorated cakes for virtually any celebration event, including: birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, and various business-​related events. I am the owner, proprietor and currently the sole cake decorator and confectionery artists for the company. Having completed professional-​level training through the Wilton Method of Cake Decorating, as well as possessing a God-​given artistic eye, I am qualified to create a vast array of unique confectionery designs. I am qualified to work with fondant and gum paste in the creation of edible flowers and figures, as well as being proficient in working with buttercream icing-​based designs. My specialty is customized specialty cakes.

In addition to creating specialty cake & cupcake products, I also have experience as an instructor of basic cake design and fondant technique; having taught adults at the community college level, adolescents and teens at the high school level.

History

Established in 2010.

I began cake decorating 7 years ago as a hobbyist, creating various types of custom cakes for friends and colleagues. In 2010, I began the series of professional-​grade decorating coursework from the Wilton Method of Cake Decorating, in order to pursue excellence and a more refined cake design technique. From that point on, considered myself a trained confectionery artist. To date, I have an extensive portfolio of cake art which is visible on my business website. I continue to cultivate and expand my skill-​set and creativity with each passing year in the field of confectionery art.

It was in June 2010 that I went into cake decorating as an entrepreneurial endeavor and created Kimmi’s Confection Expressions as a business entity. I provide full-​service, custom-​order, specialty cake decorating for virtually any celebration.
