Overwhelmingly meh and very disappointing. Will definitely not be returning. The woman preparing my food was just taking it out of the microwave as I walked up, not ten minutes after placing the order. Chicken was rubbery, dumplings were tough and chewy, orange Chicken was so tough I couldn’t even stab it with a fork. Thanks, I could have nuked something myself for much cheaper than $ 20. Do yourself a favor and pass this one.

No. No. And HELL no. Got fried rice from here last week, and found these things that resembled insect legs and just about vomitted after having eaten three forks of it. Rice tasted burnt and super oily. Never again!!!

Horrible!!! If I could give it negative stars I would. Beef lo mein tasted like fish. General Tsao Chicken had no flavor. Egg roll was dry. I will never eat here again. Wound up throwing it all away.

I had ordered the hibachi chicken and shrimp combo along with hot and sour soup. The soup wasn’t really the best I’ve had. It was actually bland and didn’t taste sour at all. The hibachi chicken and shrimp were decent but they were quite dry. Overall it is an ok joint to grab lunch at. I won’t say quick lunch because they took a lot of time to bring me mine.

I went here really hoping to like Jumbo China because it is right between my job and home. Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed. We expected the typical Americanized Chinese food but were disappointed by the quality of the food and lack of seasoning. We ordered the cashew chicken and pepper steak and both were bland. The service was good and prices were fair but based on my experience, not worth it.

This place is actually super delicious. From Szechuan shrimp or chicken to broccoli chicken to general tsao’s chicken, you can’t go wrong! Super fresh and tasty. I always get stuff with the white rice. I can’t believe how fresh the veggies taste!

I love it! Its good, fast and convenient. I get the shrimp hibachi and for $ 6.95 dinner you cant beat it. I highly recommend if you are looking for some good carry out. I also like the vegetarian options as well.

I was craving chinese and I saw this location and decided to enter now that Eastern Lights is closed. This place serves your typical Americanized Chinese food with some Japanese Hibachi style available. You know how sometimes you can just tell the ethnicity of some people, the staff here at Jumbo China actually look like Japanese more than Chinese. I did order the Kung Poa chicken and it was pretty good. The fried rice did taste like it was cold in the fridge before heating up in the wok. What really got me in the door was $ 6.00 for lunch dish plus choice of rice and soda. A good value. Food B Staff C Décor C Location C Health Inspection Grade 98.5

I decided to check out the newly opened Jumbo China more out of convenience than genuine interest. It just so happens to be a two second drive from my office on University Drive, and after seeing an advertisement for $ 5.00 lunch specials, I was sold. I am pleasantly surprised to announce that I was not at all disappointed. To start, because they don’t have an online menu yet(their sister store in Raleigh runs the website and hasn’t updated their site with the new store’s menu), they offered to fax one to my work. They explained that though their menu is similar to Raleigh’s, the sister store doesn’t offer the hibachi grill options that the Durham location does. Fantastic. My coworker and I went with the Beef & Broccoli with Fried Rice and Hibachi Grilled Vegetables with Brown Rice. Our order was ready and waiting for me within ten minutes, and the food was significantly better than similar Chinese/American takeout staples that I’ve had in the past. The vegetables in the Hibachi Grill were flavorful, crisp and came with two awesome dipping sauces on the side. Even the brown rice was well seasoned, and I ended up scraping my bowl clean. I will definitely be back the next time I get that annoying craving for, though less than authentic, very satisfying and reasonably-priced Chinese food.

This has become my go-to for good & cheap Chinese food. Great prices, good food, clean, quick service. Love the $ 5 lunch meal special. House special lo mein is a favorite, as well as the spare ribs and sweet and sour chicken. Lots of variety on the lunch/dinner specials menu(at least compared to other places I’ve gone) which is great, I’ll definitely keep going back.

So I just noticed that Jumbo China opened up after seeing their coming soon sign for awhile. Craving cheap American Chinese food, I decided to give it a try. The menu is basically the same menu one sees at any quick American Chinese place. The restaurant had a few people dining in and a few people waiting for their food. They have an open kitchen, which is always a nice thing to see to ensure quality control and cleanliness. I ordered the pork egg foo young, but I saw most of the people getting the hibachi dishes or the standard General Tso and whatnot. What really impressed me was that I noticed my egg foo young container and I saw the lady at the front look at it for a second and sent it back to the chefs so they could make me a new one. I feel that most quick take out placed that are trying to make as much profit as possible would never have done that. Nevertheless I food came out after waiting a little extra but I didn’t mind. She told me what happened and I told her that I appreciated her looking out for my food. The egg foo young did turn out very good. I will definitely be back to this restaurant because of this and because I can walk to it, and because they have an inexpensive lunch special. Cheers.
