Specialties
North Carolina’s premier custom picture framer since 1968, House of Frames/Craven Allen Gallery features the largest selection of framing choices in the region, as well as the Triangle’s most experienced picture framers. We specialize in conservation framing. Our gallery features local and nationally known artists and rotating exhibitions.
History
Established in 1968.
House of Frames/Craven Allen Gallery has been in the same location for over 45 years. Owners Keith Allen Wenger and John Craven Bloedorn have owned the business since
since 1992. Their employees set the business apart from other framers – each one having a degree in art or art-related field and at least a decade – or two or three decades – of experience. «Our goal is to be the best framer in the Triangle, and to feature artists whose work we are truly passionate about,» says John. He has a BA in Fine Arts from Colorado College and loves working with customers. «We’re lucky to work in such a positive, creative business – people give us something they care about, we work together to create a custom design they like, and they get something beautiful back. It’s very satisfying.»
