To start I never review anything if like or dislike something but this location had me in I shock. We found the car we wanted were pre approved from our bank next step was to go here and test drive to see if everything ran and was to our expectations. Well the car itself seemed fine, then it came to price. Before even showing up a seller named Charles sent me an email with the price and info on the car. Well my wife went Saturday to test drive it, I couldn’t go because of work. She asked him how much they were asking he said 32,000 she was shocked because the email he sent me had 29,800. Red flag went up. She then showed him the email. Here comes his response. «The sheet I have has it for 32,000, our owner changes the price without us knowing». She could see right through the lie and left. I then called to speak with a manager because that just did not sit right with me. Well the manager wasn’t much brighter. I have been a cop for several years and I have good sense when someone is lying and blowing smoke. Well he gave the same excuse and said he was here went it happened. Then I referred to the email that was sent by Charles. He said he didn’t read what email he was sending he just sent the email. I couldn’t help but laugh. To top it all off blue book had the vehicle we were looking for ranging from 26,000−28,000. He asked Charles what she was thinking the price was. She said idk 26 – 27 and he did a condescending laugh saying Toyota is high brand make they don’t sell for that cheap. Well they do this vehicle was a 2011 we purchased the same model and all the features vehicle they had for 30,000 and it is 2014. So buyer beware going here!!!

What a joke. I was told, «You’re approved and can drive your car home today!» 3 weeks ago. They will tell you whatever they think you want to hear. When you give them information to give to the buyer for a loan, they won’t accurately or effectively pass along that information… same goes from information you need from the buyer. They’re super crappy middle-​men smooth-​talkers. They pretend to be polite but when you call them out on their lies, they get extremely defensive and rude. Would never deal with this company again or send anyone their way.

I don’t write negative reviews lightly. This, however, is ridiculous. We’ve had the car (09 Mazda 5) for less than 3 months. I work from home so I hardly ever drive it. I noticed an issue with the brakes when I test drove; I made them replace them all before I bought. So I’m not a total idiot. The noise problem was present when I bought it, and I called about it a couple of days after taking it home. They told me to take it in to their service area and they would diagnose. The service guys told me that the tires were worn unevenly and cupping (the car had 70k, this seemed reasonable to me) and that was causing the road noise. I knew I had to replace the tires soon, and that was fine with me, so I waited til I could get $ for tires. The noise continues, people comment about it, my Dad says «that’s not cupping in the tires, they bullshitted you to get you to keep the car.» Turns out, he was right. I took it in for the one free oil change they give you and asked them to examine the sound. Now that it was out of the 30 day bring it back for no reason thing, they told me right away, just by hearing the noise. «oh yeah, that’s definitely a problem with the struts. I’d take it to a mazda dealer». The noise had not changed since I purchased the car. Remember, the first time I brought it in when it was making the same noise with the same severity, they could find nothing wrong with it except unevenly worn tires.
I ended up having to replace both front struts and mounts and both rear shocks were leaking so had to replace them too. That’s $ 1000 depending on where you live. When I called Chris to complain (and Chris is a really nice guy, not sure why he’d sell me a car with obvious problems), he transferred me to Armando. Armando told me he had to go and would call me back. That was a week ago. I’ve heard nothing.
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Yes, I should have taken the car to an independent mechanic. Yes, I should not have trusted these «nice» folks that told me it was just a tire issue that would be solved when I bought new ones. But for what I’ve put into this POS car, I could’ve bought a new one.
The best part… I had my 06 Honda Civic in their «consignment» program, where they sell it on their lot for you so you don’t have to deal with craigslist, and they make a little $$ too. Chris assured me it would sell really quickly since it was in great shape and had low miles. TWO MONTHS LATER… «well, it’s been a little slow.» I picked it up, put it on craigslist that day, showed it that night, had cash in hand the next day. It sold in ONE DAY from a craigslist ad.
All in all, a huge, costly mistake on my part. Don’t make the same mistake. If I could afford it, I’d drop the car off today. You won’t get that sleazy feeling from them, but they will be selling you a POS. My Mom had a great experience at Hendricks of Durham with a used car.

Bought a truck. Found out the motor had been replaced by them and has tons of problems. Great place to get ripped off.

I needed a car and I wasn’t expecting to get into a car that I love. There are bunch of dealerships in the area, a hell of a lot. Some have whimsical names and a bunch of beaters, some seem like drug fronts with hoodlums for dealers. Those places made me nervous to walk on to the lots let alone give my personal info.
CBS Quality Cars caught my just driving by a few of these locations. I couldn’t find any negative press online. The website is up to date, the warranty stuff seemed cool. This clinched it for me; I collected my stuff and was enroute to the Roxboro Rd location in N. Durham.
The first salesmen I met was Amado. I gave him a brief description of what I wanted and advised him the due diligence was done and CBS seemed legit. Amado gave me the history of the family owned business, the nuts and bolts of the operation and his own background. A car salesmen with esprit de corps and Absolutely NO PRESSURE on the lot or creepiness with the administration stuff? SCORE!
The most important aspect in my car buying experience is no pressure sales. Next would be not a drug front. CBS is neither of these and they really take care of you to the point of spoiling you. I would’ve actually felt spoiled if there was a coffee or a coffee machine with real coffee on site (Keurig cups or Starbucks. People were getting tired in there, Just sayin’.) Bottom line is that I walked away with a Vehicle that I love. I’m a fan and I’ll tell everyone to go any of the CBS locations for a vehicle, ask for Amado he’s the man.
