April’s Braids & Beads For Children

The place is awesome! The stylists are great with kids. The environment is inviting, warm, loving, and appropriate! My baby-​girl hardly lets anyone touch her; let alone her hair, but there were no problems at April’s. My princess loved being pampered, the style was beautiful and not too tight, and she wants to go back! If you cannot, prefer not, just do have time to do hair, run to April’s Braids & Beads!

I have been taking my daughter to this salon for 2 ½ years without incident. Generally, we make our appointments 6 months in advance. Yesterday I received a letter that «services rendered are outside of the scope of what the salon can accommodate so our future appointments are cancelled» Wait. WHAT? I am utterly confused because we were just there days ago and nothing was mentioned. Additionally, we only have one more appointment for the year — a new hairdo for school — so I’m surprised we weren’t given the courtesy to have our last appointment given it’s for the first day of school. So I called and texted April to gain clarity on why we received this letter since my daughter gets the same style each time (meaning the accomodation comment is baffling to me). No answer, no reply. I then call and text Miss Jay — no answer, no reply. Interesting. I find the lack of responses to be a clear indication that April and her staff are completely glib to professionalism and open communication. I find the template I was sent a week before our final appointment to be a cowardly move. I will gladly take my daughter somewhere else where professionalism and common courtesy is a part of the services being offered — not only braids.

Love how great she did on daughters hair. My daughter was so happy being pampered getting her hair washed, blow dried, then braided and can’t stop shaking her beads around. April was awesome! It only took her 1 ½ hour to wash, dry, and braid her hair. Plus, gave a snack and Dora show. As they get older they get to pick their own beads out, too. April was so thoughtful and even picked a Dora beach episode since I had told her we were taking her to the beach.
