Larry is prompt and efficient. He has a top notch crew working with him and stands behind his labor. Bonnie is the person you will speak to on the phone. She is cheerful and knowledgeable. My system was installed quickly and runs great. A+!

Accu-​Air sold me a new blower for my HVAV last year. Apparently, the unit was good enough then. I have neither threatened or verbally abused anybody. Instead of putting this matter to rest in a professional manner, Accu-​Air has now decided to resort to lies.
What I have not mentioned in my first draft was the fact that the technician opened the unit and then banged on a relay with his screwdriver while telling me that I apparently needed a new relay. When I asked him to replace the defective relay he responded that he would not know which relay would be defect. It was cold and he clearly did not appear to make any effort to keep us (temporarily) warm. After 10 minutes inspecting the unit he disappeared in his truck and presented to me 20 minutes later my $ 115 service charge. I paid. Despite my wish to speak to the owner of Accu-​Air the lady in charge hung up on me twice and did not respond to the messages I left on their answering machine. I rarely post complaints but it was necessary this time as this was a truly poor example of customer support.

This company has done all my Durham HVAC work for the last 7 years.
They are always on time, do the job correctly, and charge an honest price.
I am leaving the area and really hope I can find a similar company in Charleston area.

Had Accu-​Air do a bathroom fan repair. I arranged a house visit to get a quote, but when the workers arrived was told that Accu-​Air doesn’t do quotes and this ‘service call’ would be $ 115 if I didn’t proceed with the repair.
Billing wasn’t transparent — no labor/​parts breakdown; just a total of $ 290 to replace a bathroom fan. Seemed pricey for that kind of repair, but I went with it since I’d be hit with $ 115 if I did nothing.
Fan seems to be working, but I’d be hesitant to use Accu-​Air again due to unclear billing practices and a nagging feeling that I was way over-​charged for a small repair.

Our AC stopped working. I called Accu-​Air and they came out within 2 hours. The man, Anthony, figured out right away that our motor had gotten too old and locked. He jogged it and it got going again. He told me we needed a new motor. He took a picture on his smart phone of our motor label, sent it to the office, found out it cost $ 450 to replace, and promised he could have it replaced immediately. That was pretty darn efficient. He also mentioned that a visit costs $ 115, but if I had him come back any time in the next 30 days, the next visit charge would be waved. We had him come back the next day after my motor locked again, and he replaced it quickly. We haven’t had any problems since. Anthony was efficient and courteous. I would recommend him to anyone. Obviously it was quite expensive. I don’t know if that can be helped or not.

This company was fine for furnace repair, if a bit more expensive than its competitors. I called them on the strength of their Unilocal reviews and they came the following day. The technician was polite and quick in diagnosing the problem. He showed me the damaged part and gave me ballpark figures for its repair and replacement. It required replacing the whole furnace and ac system. They provided me a quote a few days later. The quote included a number of different services including widening heat registers and replacing the concrete pad. Upon shopping around I found the same furnace with install for 4k instead of accu airs 6k.
The technician admitted to never having seen a cracked heat exchanger on my particular brand of furnace. This was unsettling as it was a common brand and expected part failure. However, he instilled confidence by demonstrating where the damage occurred.
All in all, this company seemed competent but three issues left a sour taste in my mouth. 1 the diagnosis visit cost 115 dollars and that seemed high. 2 the quote for furnace replacement was 50 percent higher than others in the area (they don’t do many of these) 3 the guy who did the quote broke the latch on my crawl space.

Came within an hour of my call, quickly determined the problem and fixed it. Answered some other questions, and were on their way. I will call them again the next time I have HVAC needs.

Larry and everyone at Accu-​Air are some of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. At the first sign of warm weather this year my A/​C wasn’t cooling properly. I had conceded to the fact that it was probably time to have a replacement unit installed. Larry came out and serviced my unit and gave it a few more years of life and saved me a lot of money. He simply cleaned my outside unit and put in a little coolant and it almost instantly started cooling better. He walked up and down the stairs from the attic to the outside unit at least 10 times until it was perfect. It was nice to have someone come into my home and not try to sell me on a replacement job when it wasn’t necessary. If you are having any HVAC issues please call these guys.

Our heater went out on a REALLY cold Sunday, and I checked out local reviews and called Accu-​Air first thing Monday morning. They were backed up for Monday, but scheduled us for 8:30 AM Tuesday. Chad (the technician) arrived PRECISELY on time, went to the crawl space, diagnosed the problem in about 15 minutes, had the appropriate part on his truck, replaced the burnt-​out ignitor, and waited until everything was working to check things out. Total time 1 hour. I cannot say enough good things about Accu-​Air.

I had ARS Rescue Rooter come out TWICE in October and November, when I noticed my emergency heat was cutting on too much. They told me nothing was wrong… while my bills were going up 30% every month… I called Accu-​Air after the weather turned hot and it became obvious the system couldn’t keep up. Brandon came out and IMMEDIATELY diagnosed my heat pump as being low on R-​22. He took the time to tighten all connections and add 3lbs of R-​22 slowly to get the most temperature drop out of my system. When it was all said and done, I had a nice 20 degree plus drop and everything was working great. He also took the time to explain everything and show me the best ways to extend the life of my heat pump system. My only regret is not calling them 6 months ago when I first had problems.
