Highland Apothecary

I agree with everything else good that has been said about this user friendly store. I could not believe the notice I received from Medicare that my Mother’s prescriptions would be less at this small, independent drug store, BUT THEY ARE!

This pharmacy is a wonderful addition to this shopping area in Dunwoody that includes East 48^th St, Asian Café and Dunwoody Bistro. In the quest for profitability pharmacies have been commoditized and well-​trained pharmacists spend very little time on you and your needs at most supermarket or mega-​chain stores. And its actually vitally important for people that are on regular medications to have a pharmacist that they can have an actual conversation with. The Highland Apothecary is a big step in the right direction. It provides an environment where those conversations can actually occur. Its a very inviting shop. I walk my dog by the shop every evening and a lot of times there are folks just hanging out, drinking tea and chatting (there is adequate seating at the front of the shop for just this). Definitely a trip back in time in a good way with old-​world style furnishing throughout. The pharmacy is well setup and very comfortable. There are some amazing speciality gifts in there too including locally made delightful smelling candles with the «Highland Apothecary» label on them in elegant script. I’ve bought a few of these for my daughters and wife. Wonderful. The pharmacy provides delivery and curb-​side pickup of prescriptions. But the real key is that you will be able to establish a relationship with someone who knows you and can give you good advice on medications. Definitely worth checking out if you are looking for a better pharmacy or in need for a speciality gift item in Dunwoody area.
