Horrendous experience. I stayed here while moving. One of the first things the owner, the older man, Hugo, told me, was that he is well-endowed! The room had a shower of well water that took 15 min. .. cold min, to get hot and then was extremely hot. This was in a handicapped room. Smoke alarm was dead. Fortunately, I had my own. The sex-offender next door smoked close by my window and the smoke came thru the A/C. The well water smelled like a decomposing animal. The light things I hand-washed smell like that now. The TV had mostly static which they fixed, The WiFi was terrible although free. Phone didn’t work. Carpet dirty. Wheelchair accessible ramp had a small tractor stored on it. Worst of all, the A/C kept the room at 87 degrees. Early one morning, I turned it off only to have the temp go down 5 degrees because it was cool outside. Owner kept telling me he would fix the A/C, that he had ordered 4 or 5. So other people had the same problem. Motel was full. Finally, on the 14th day he put in a used one that worked. He has a big sign in the lobby that says tell him of any problems right away or he won’t give a refund. But, when he was told, he would yell«stop complaining!» Really weird, surreal experience. When I misplaced my door key card, he refused to give me a new one. I had to call the Yolo County Deputy Sheriff who did a great job. This is exactly why there are Disability laws. Thank God, I have him legally on record and commenting on the fact that the A/C was broken because he later accused me of breaking it — a broken A/C that was more than 10 yrs old that he had altered. He had altered the A/C from dial to touch button with little electrical wires a child or baby could access. He «took» the $ 100 deposit he requires upfront. His previous motel«Acienda» burned down. Like a horror movie. You get what you pay for — drive a little farther to Dixon and stay at the wonderful Best Western where people don’t appear to be crazy.
