The Sweet Lush Cupcakery

I’m not a fan of SUPER sweet things, so I usually stay away from cupcakes — their ratio of icing to cake just does me in. A few days ago my friend shared a bite of her sweet lush cake with me, and I was floored by how great it was! The frosting is whipped cream frosting, so you’re not feeling crazy insulin rushes from the very first bite like you would with regular cake frosting. It’s light, creamy, and not cloying… perfect. Today I had my own cupcake that I shared with my coworkers, and it was just as delicate and delicious.

Omg! Love their cakes. They always bake a beautiful cake for all of our parties. Their cupcakes are the best around. Tons of fun flavors for kids. Every time I have a party, I am asked where we got the cake from! Love them!

Before finding this place, we never really cared for cupcakes. Sweet Lush has certainly changed our minds! Their cupcakes are always moist and fresh. Their icing is flavorful and adds a whole other level. Icing is definitely not too sweet or sugary. They are always trying new flavors and have about 15 different options at all times. Though we have our personal favorites, we can’t help but try different flavors. This makes it hard to eat just one! They also take special orders for cakes and cupcakes. Keep up the great work!

Ok, I am not a cake person, but my wife says I have to try these cupcakes. So we toke a ride to The Sweet Lush Cupcakery, and OMG! These cupcakes are Devine! We bought a dozen. We got the salted caramel, cannoli, blueberry pancake, peanut butter, berry nut, and each one was better than the next. The sweetness is perfect, and all the flavors are recognizable. The cake is moist and eats like a meal. Again, I am not a cake person, but these are fantastic!

Every time I see these cupcakes at functions I go to, or when I take them somewhere, peoples eyes bug out of their heads! They are the most artistically, delicious cupcakes you can taste and they are truly beautiful creations! They never fail to draw attention and they are wel! worth the trip to go pick them up! Have not tried the minis yet though-​maybe next trip!

While the cupcakery is a little «off the beaten path,» Siri got us there with ease. Equally as fantastic, there is a parking lot across from this bakery. (It is metered, so bring a quarter or two).
As mentioned by other reviewers, when we arrived, there were only six or seven cupcakes remaining in the case/​on top of the case … total. We selected two lemons, a German chocolate, and a cannoli.
The counter-​staff was super pleasant and efficient. And, the establishment appeared extremely clean.
When we arrived home, we shared the cannoli cupcake. We both enjoyed how the icing was not overly sweet … it seemed to genuinely be a mascarpone or ricotta cheese. It was light and delightful. Definitely not a cupcake for «children» … which we LOVE! Nonetheless, the actual cake was a little spongy and flavorless.
Later, we split the German chocolate. Here, there was a massive overdose of «sweet» with the DENSE icing. In addition to the spongy, dry cake, this one was not a favorite.
The next day, we split the lemon. It was okay. A little too sweet … the cake a little too dry.
For us, nuanced flavors are what we seek. No «sugary-​sweet, mile-​high, dense icings.» So, the cannoli cupcake satisfied that desire … the others, not so much. Moreover, my biggest wish would be that this cupcakery offer «one-​bite» versions. Many of the cupcakeries that we have visited (in Vegas, Boston, and even Bethlehem) also feature «one-​bites.» This allows for the ability to test many flavors … it also helps those without a big appetite. We aren’t over-​eaters, so consuming even half of these super sweet snacks was a challenge. One-​bite cupcakes can leave the consumer full and satisfied instead of overly full and regretful. .
While we won’t be making a return visit, we do wish this local bakery plenty of luck!

Sweet lush has the BEST cupcakes!!! I have not lived in Scranton for a year. I now live in Texas and seriously no cupcake compares. Your cakes were super moist and your frosting was fantastic. Your chocolate peanut butter was AMAZING!!! I miss your cupcakes :) I really love how creative you were and all of the different flavors. Do yourself a favor and visit!

Very cute little store. We got salted caramel cupcakes and they were worth every penny! We called ahead and asked them to save a four pack so we could grab them after work. I was afraid they would all be gone but when we got there, there were still plenty of cupcakes to choose from. My husband got a «Everything but the…» ben and jerry’s cupcake and I got a Sweet Jean cupcake because they looked so wonderful. His was partially chocolate and partially vanilla with nuts, peanut butter and chocolate topping with whipped cream. The sweet jean cupcake had vanilla buttercream and chocolate cake with delicious strawberry filling. They were both really impressive but the salted caramel cupcakes blew me away. They were vanilla cupcakes with salted caramel filling, caramel drizzle, whipped cream and a chewy salted caramel chewy bite on top. I will definitely be back!

We got a dozen cupcakes for a party. There was peanut butter cup, cotton candy, creamsicle, double chocolate, tiramisu… etc. aside from being beautifully prepared and decorated, they were delicious! I’m glad to have discovered this «cupcakery» and will most definitely be going back!

The cupcakes at Sweet Lush are nothing short of food porn. My first was a chocolate peanut butter porter. It was life-​changing and led to many a 30 minute trek up 81 to sample the latest creations that get posted to FB daily. The only downside is that everything looks so delicious that I always leave with a dozen. I’m this close to needing a part-​time job to fund my cupcake habit.

This place has unbelievable cupcakes… really good but I cant help but feel like Elaine from Seinfeld. I only got to taste them because they were given to me as a gift. The first time I went in there they were out of cupcakes. Really? Your specialty is cupcakes… yes it was the holidays but still. The second time I went in and was looking in the case and they said they were closed… they open in 20 minutes… really? Why coulda t you say…“what is it your looking for, we re not opened yet, but let me see if I cam accommodate you”. I don t care how good your cupcakes are. you and your business manners are very distasteful!
