The Inn At Glenora Wine Cellars

Stayed this last weekend. The rooms were dated. View was awesome staff was nice. But besides that ehhh. We checked in and a pair of pants were in our room (how well was the room
Cleaned ?).Our room had to be moved as of night one due to a noise in the ceiling (sounded like a pipe leaking). We moved into our 2^nd room and could not
Figure out why the tv would not work. It was due to the DVD player being left on prior to us checking into the room. Go to take a hot bath in the jacuzzi bath tub. And the tub leaks and does not hold water. (Our first room had a rubber stop when we checked in, so I called and asked for one for this room) I was told house keeping did not have one but when the front desk asked house keeping that they said «that one shouldn’t leak. That’s why there is not a stop in that room». Ok comforting, but it does leak. Had to wait for maintenance who was «driving in» to get the stop. After over an hour I gave up and took a shower. Which when I was done the stop finally arrived. Def not worth the almost 650 for two nights :-/.

Splendid view here especially when you come in fall when you can enjoy foliage all over the mountain along the lake.

Stopped in for a wine tasting and dinner. Absolutely wonderful. The staff was friendly and knowledgable– we really enjoyed the experience and walked away with two bottles
Then we stayed for dinner and had an amazing meal overlooking the lake. Absolutely delicious and excellent service.

Just stayed this past weekend. Stopped at winery first as it was check in time yet. Asked if there was a discount if we were staying there and they said no. However, once I checked in a received a slip for a free tasting I think they should communicate a little better.
Anyways great view. Everything was a little dated. Bathrooms for sure need to be re-​modeled. I also brought my workout stuff as they advertised a fitness center which they should not! They have 2 treadmills and elliptical. One of the elliptical kept going off the track, the other felt like i was about to face plant, the one treadmill didn’t work at all, and the other one was probably from the 80s. Needless to say I didn’t end up working out which was disappointing.
Likely there was a wedding there so we got fireworks and a live band which made our stay. We also enjoyed breakfast on the veranda with a wonderful view. I don’t think it was worth $ 300!

If you want to put something in your mouth that is great and well thought out go enjoy lunch here. If you are a picky eater please do not go here it is not for youif you want a plain burger stay at home.

On a recent trip to Geneva I decided to take a little soldier down the lake to find a good place for breakfast happen to come into here and found out this is not the good place for breakfast all they have is basically a continental affair and you’re not very good service and not to oblige for walkins

Great little place. Beautiful views and atmosphere. The food is top notch. Very impressive dishes. See James at the bar and you will be well taken care of. If they are doing a lamb special, get it! Surprisingly edgy cuisine.

The hotel is «okay», but definitely not to the level I expected. There were a lot of disappointments around every turn. It was a clean hotel near (not on) a spralling vineyard, with generally clean rooms. Although the hotel was clean, I would not come back. Here’s why:
1) Though the hotel is clean, the décor is somewhat dated. It is in need of a little TLC. For example, the doors to the vanity in our room had some chips on the bottom. The television and refrigerator were contained with an entertainment center straight out of the 90s. We didn’t really come here to watch TV, but it’s just indicative of the somewhat dated feel of the place.
2) This hotel is DEFINITELY on the wrong side of Lake Seneca. This was very distressing. Our options were pretty limited for dinner. Initially, our options were to eat at the inn restaurant, where the lowest meat entrée was $ 25); go into Watkins Glen, where we had lunch and found no appetizing options, or trek 25 miles to the other side of Lake Seneca for some decent grub. We had stayed directly across from Glenora before, in Hector, and the dining options were fabulous. I guess is because the restaurants are readily accessible to guests on both Seneca Lake and Cayuga Lake. Still, this is the wrong side to stay on. I would never do that again.
3) Somehow, when I made the reservation, I reserved two queen beds. This was definitely not the intent. At most hotels, two full/​queens and a king are pretty much interchangeable for the same room rate. I inquired as to whether it was possible to get a king bed instead. The place was pretty much empty, so this would have seemed easy enough to accommodate. It was a Monday night. I was originally given a quote for a room that about $ 80 more, and then a rate fora room $ 50 more. They were not at all accommodating in this regard. Yes, it was my mistake for not noticing the issue before arrival, but $ 50 seems a HUGE price gap between two queen beds and a king. Crazy with a capital «C».
4) Though the hotel sits before a vineyard, they don’t actually own the vineyard. We inquired as to whether there were any limits as to how far we could roam. Because it’s «Glenora Wine Cellars», we were left wit the impression that the hotel was on a vineyard. It’s not. That wasn’t a huge deal, because it was okay to roam the grounds up until the point of the vines, so we got a few nice pictures, still, it was not as expected.
On the plus side:
1) If you care to get wasted, you don’t have to leave the property. They give you a complimentary wine tasting, a champagne toast on arrival, an a free bottle of wine in your room.
2) In the notebook in the room, we noticed there was more reasonably priced food at the Harvest Lounge, which essentially the bar. We split a calamari appetizer and both had a chicken Caesar salad. They were tasty. Most of the lounge food was typical bar food, such as chicken fingers and various (upscale) burgers. The burgers were things like falafel and crab cake, so not «horrible», but not what we were hoping for at all.
Sorry this is a rather lengthy review, but if I save one couple from feeling the isolation we felt at Glenora, it will have been worth it. There is so much more to do on the other side of the lake. Unless you are looking for a fully contained experience, I’d stay on the other side of the lake where you have more options for dining and attractions.

Great room with a Jacuzzi tub and fire place! Loved the bottle of wine and the waters in the room. We had dinner at their restaurant and while I loved my food (pasta night) my fiancé did not (short ribs). If you are picky about food, you might be in trouble here. They only had a continental breakfast that was fine for me but when you are on a no carb diet like my fiancé, they have nothing. It consist of breads and oatmeal. We got the massage package which was one of the best I have had. She has been doing them here for over 8 years and I can feel why! The bed is firm in the room so if you like a soft bed, not here. The view of the lake is second to none. So some good points and some not so good. Now off to our free wine tastings!

The inn was great. The room was nice clean and comfortable. The balcony has a beautiful view of Seneca lake and the fireplace was nice for the cool nights in the fall. You also receive a glass of champagne upon check-​in, a bottle of wine in your room, and tickets for free wine tasting in their tasting room.

Our experience at Glenora was wonderful. My boyfriend and I went during the off season, and arrived in Dundee in the middle of a blizzard. We couldn’t see road signs and had to call the front desk for directions after our GPS failed us. When we finally arrived, we found that an attendant had mistakenly cancelled our reservation and I was nearly devistated. However, the owner quickly amended the mistake, and gave us the same room we had reserved previously (a perk of going in the off season… the place is pretty empty!). The room was beautiful, with a fireplace and a jacuzzi tub. The views aren’t as nice in the winter, but the lake was still gorgeous once the blizzard cleared and the sun came out. As part of the package we chose, we recieved a gift card for the restaurant, and ate there on two different nights. The blue point oysters we fresh and delicious, and their soups were very good as well. We had a wine and cheese plate in our room on the first night while we watched a movie. It was brilliant. We booked a massage with their on-​call massage therapist and enjoyed it in our room. Glenora’s wine was fairly good. I don’t think there was an we didnt’ like, but we didn’t find all of it particularly impressive. Nevertheless, we found plenty to take home with us.
Overall, Glenora helped us have an AMAZING vacation. It was our first vacation together, and I’m willing to wager that it will be the most memorable. The staff at the Inn is congenial and attentive, and never too busy to engage in good wine conversation. The staff in the tasting room is knowledgable and entertaining. The price tag wasn’t bad, either! We would definitely visit again.

staff was helpful, rooms were clean and comfortable, but the real draws are the location and the wine. each room has a porch/​patio with a fantastic view of the vineyards and seneca lake (which you can enjoy from a set of adk chairs). it’s gorgeous. really a perfect spot for a getaway, or if you’re exploring the seneca lake wine trail.
we received a complimentary bottle of wine, as well as a glass of champagne upon our arrival. both were very good. we were also given coupons for free tastings in the tasting room.
we had breakfast at the on-​site restaurant. everything was very good and the menu featured lots of local fare.
i look forward to visiting again.

Beautiful location for a wedding! Rooms are clean and comfortable at the Inn. The winery is great with an awesome wine tasting selection. Food at the restaurant is always delicious. Great location and great staff!

A great place to have a wedding. Gorgeous views, even on gray winter days, the view is spectacular.
Wedding was in the Veraisons restaurant, including the ceremony. Late April, the weather was good, not sunny and hot, but pretty decent for spring. Again, even with some gray clouds and cool temps, green grass, but no visible green on the vines or trees yet, it was amazing. Patio deck was a great extension of the indoor space. Inside, the wall of windows don’t let you forget the location.
The restaurant has added a bar/​lounge area as of early 2010. Now, they have several beers on tap. Almost all local micro-​brews! Wagner, Ithaca, Custom Brewcrafters… also had a Sam Adams seasonal. Obviously, I think these are excellent selections. Being at Glenora Wine Cellars, they only serve their own wine, which isn’t great, but fair.
Food was excellent, I had a large filet mignon, and the apps during the cocktail hour was amazing (especially the cheese platter, supposedly all local cheeses including an amazing brie! Staff in the restaurant and inn was also very attentive, polite, and welcoming.
Perhaps one of the best reasons to have a wedding here is that your guests can sleep on-​site (no drinking & driving). We took over the entire place. All the rooms face the lake, with either a deck or patio area. Post-​wedding partying was easy as you could walk around outside to determine where the after-​party was. The rooms were very nice, some comforters seemed a little old, but the bathrooms were beginning (very very beginning) to show their age. The room’s cleanliness was immaculate, beds were comfortable, but again, rooms were beginning to show their age. Rooms would get 4.5 stars. Rumor was that ESPN takes over the entire facilities during the Watkins Glen races.
While this was a review for the inn during a wedding, I think it would be a great romantic spot for a weekend getaway, however, I’m sure the word will get out about its wedding capabilities it’ll be booked for most of the year.

Enjoyed a great night at Glenora. The room was nice, clean, refreshing and comfortable. Beautiful view of Seneca Lake from your balcony along with the vineyard down below. Service was good and the wine was excellent. Love their Raspberry Champange!

My wife and I have now been there twice in 2 years. Beautiful spot overlooking vineyards and Seneca Lake. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Rooms are very nice and restaurant is great.

We not only stayed at the inn but ordered breakfast twice at our room and ate dinner at the restaurant. The people were sweet and accomodating, the room had a fantastic view and was fairly modern with no real complaints other than the tiny shower. Room service screwed up our order the first day and instead of telling us they didn’t have an item, simply replaced it with something else. Other than that miscommunication the breakfast was tasty and prompt. The restaurant was absolutely wonderful, great service, terrific food and a great atmosphere. I had the Hangar steak which was cooked perfect and served with a sauce to die for, my wife’s oven roasted chicken was equally as impressive. Overall a great establishment, great local wines, wonderful food and nice rooms — we’d recommend it. Also, try the brut sparkling wine, dry whites and their yellow cab (cab sauvignon) isn’t too bad either.

Amazing views of a vineyard and the beautiful nearby lake + affordable prices make me very happy! They even let me walk through the vineyard which was fun — I stole a grape off the vine and it was tart :) I was quite pleased after ordering glass after glass of wine without ever checking the price that the wine was so affordable. Makes sense at a vineyard, but you never know… this place has gorgeous views and yummy food. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is the really lame seating — I mean honestly, cheap patio furniture? Also, the service was pretty slow, but friendly overall and that is what is important to me. I would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting the area! I had the duck and it was great!

The dining room is amazing, great view of Seneca lake. The food was pretty good, nice family establishment.
