History

Established in 2005.

Complete Bridal was established and founded in 2005 by fashion designer David Gaffke. Complete Bridal serves with the purpose of allowing brides and girls that are looking for designer gowns at a price fitting to almost any budget. With over 30 years of experience in the bridal industry we know that there is a need for a place where you can find transparency, honesty, and overall a great experience. We believe that we provide a different and non-​traditional approach to dress shopping. In 2014 that served us well as we were the featured store on A&E Networks, FYI, TV show called «Best in Bridal». This show featured brides that were exposed to that non-​traditional experience with our all-​male bridal staff. We hope to continue providing great customer service as well as well as an experience unlike any other. As of December 2014 we are under new management and are really excited at the changes and the progress that we will continue making going forward.

Ashley E.

Manager

Ashley is the Operations Manager for Complete Bridal. He’s had over 10 years of business development and customer service experience with multiple fortune 500 companies. Ashley brings a different approach to the customer experience in the bridal industry. He wants to make sure that we provide the education and the respect that all girls deserve regardless of budget. He enjoys the relationships that are created with the brides and their families. He hopes to bring a refreshing and new perspective on bridal and what finding a bridal gown means. «I want to make sure that regardless of whether or not you buy from us, that you experience something different. We want you to love gown shopping. It shouldn’t be a chore or a hassle. It should be an experience you remember for the rest of your life.»

I’ve been to soooo many stores in search of a perfect Senior Year Prom dress and the moment I got to Complete Bridal, David helped me by choosing multiple dresses to try on. They were all so amazing but I fell in love with this Faviana copper/​black dress!!! David you’re the BEST!!! Thank you

I was never the type of girl to daydream about my wedding growing up, so once I started dress shopping I had no clue what to do or what I wanted, which made me really anxious! I had been to a big box bridal store for my first dress shopping event, and just had a bad experience. I tried on several dresses in my price range and they all just looked cheap, and I was also elbowing other brides for mirror room and dressing room space. I am the type of person that I needed a more personal experience than that to buy my dress, and a friend pointed me toward Complete Bridal.
Even from my initial phone call with David I knew I had made the right decision to make an appointment there! David took the time to explain their shop to me, asked me questions about my wedding and what theme we had, what dress style I was hoping for, and had dress ideas for me even over the phone. He even put me at ease when I said I was nervous about the dress shopping, too.
When I got to my appointment I was the only bride there, which was AWESOME. David and Luis were great! They had my mom and I pick a few dresses to try and they pulled a few dresses for me to try. EVERY dress I put on was amazing. It was the same budget range I had at the big box store, but these dresses were all beautiful and of really good quality. David made me feel right at home. Each dress I put on, he explained the dresses, fabrics and cuts to me, and explained how the dresses are made, bustled, even altered. He is so knowledgeable! As we went through the dresses and I made critiques about what I liked/didn’t like about the dress, he’d remove dresses in the queue and add others, to pinpoint my perfect dress. As it turns out my mom picked the dress I ultimately went with, which made it even more special.
Bottom line ladies: if you want a truly personal bridal experience with knowledgeable, supportive staff, this is the shop for you. David is great, the gowns are beautiful, and he really works with you on finding that right dress!
Another tip: make sure to go in advance! They order the dresses to be made to your specific measurements for a lot of the designers (which is great because then you don’t have to alter it too much), but they instructed me it can take 5 – 7 months to receive them, so plan ahead!

I had an awesome experience with Complete Bridal. My [now] mother-​in-​law had a coworker’s daughter who bought her dress here so we tried it out. When we arrived, I told David I was «that» bride that had been in 50 lace dresses and haven’t found what I want. He said I could pick out any of the dresses to try on and he’d pick out 2 dresses for me that he felt worked with my body type but weren’t on my wish list. I tried on all my choices — blah. Finally, I put on the dress he picked out for me — a champagne color satin dress. Walked out to the mirror and everyone’s faces screamed «this is it!» I looked at the dress and thought to myself «wow, he nailed it — this is it!». He then spent time offering advice on general wedding dress industry tips, how we can change the look of the dress even more with alterations, and took the time to show me pictures online on how the dress photographs. The price of the dress was well under my budget and less than other salons (I called a few other salons to compare prices) and I appreciated him not trying to push me over my limit. He was so kind to my family (mother-​in-​law, sister-​in-​law, and my grandma) and made sure they were attended to in addition to myself. Everyone got hugs from him when we were leaving. It was a nice intimate experience where we didn’t feel rushed like cattle like at other salons. The dress arrived in the time frame given — he called me and my mother-​in-​law right away to let us know it was in. Alterations went pretty smoothly with Rosa (and great price on alterations as well). We had one mix-​up where she double booked alterations appointments and we had to wait 45 minutes to see her when we arrived. A different salon employee didn’t offer any apology for the wait and instead told us «this is just what happens in the bridal industry» which I thought was a little out of line (David was not in that day). The other times I was in for alterations there were no issues — David came in to check out the dress and make sure Rosa understood all the changes and it looked perfect. Rosa was very sweet to work with. I LOVED how the dress turned out. Thanks again!

Update: In the beginning, I had a great experience with this place. Since I was buying the dress in late December I asked if my dress would make it on time for my May 8th wedding date. I was led to believe that it would make it in plenty of time. Then April rolled around, and I still didn’t have my dress. With only 3 weeks left until May 8th I began to get nervous. After more than a few calls to both Dave and the manufacturer I did finally receive my dress, but the whole experience was unnerving. The dress is the last thing you should be worried about 3 weeks to your wedding.

This is my second time writing a review, b/​c as one of the posters mentioned below, if you have a negative experience and write about it (which the purpose of Unilocal is to review businesses) the store WILL contact you. I was a bride’s maid so the owner Dave did not have my number, but he did have the bride’s and called her immediately after I posted. Out of respect for my friend, and b/​c I did not want to cause her any additional stress, I removed the post with every intention of reposting after her wedding. I will say when I went to get my measurements my experience wasn’t horrible, although Dave was on Facebook the whole time. When he measured me I was in between an 8/​10, I had on the size 10 dress which he acknowledged was too big, but said since it was the sample it was stretched out from so many people trying it on the brand new size 10 would fit better. Since he’s the expert I went with his advice, and when the actual dress came in (2 months after we were told they would) the 10 was too big, the 8 fit perfect (a friend of mine standing up got a size 8). I now needed extensive alterations I wouldn’t have if I ordered the 8. I politely asked if there was anything he would do to work w/​me, since I took his advice and got the size 10. To which he responded by grabbing his measurement book and reading my measurements in front of the entire bridal party, and telling me based on my measurements I should have ordered a 12⁄14. I was beyond mortified and humiliated, and was in tears the whole way home. I ended up calling my mom b/​c I was so upset, so she in turn tried to call to speak with him, and he hung up on her! This was not my first time there either, I went there w/​my sister for her wedding and Dave showed up 2 hours late for the scheduled appointment. She obviously chose to go elsewhere after that. So unfortunately due to two bad experiences, I can’t recommend this store.

What to say about this place… Well first the Owner Dave, he is is truly full of BS about everything he says. You will get his full attention… Until after you buy the dress, then you can’t EVER get them on the phone, they never call you back! Went to my final fitting a week before my wedding, and my dress wasn’t even touched! Went back 3 days later and it was hemmed and altered wrong. The day of the wedding my bussel came undone, I took it to be cleaned and learned they had sewn it wrong! This place is unprofessional, and seem to care only when you are looking to buy, once you purchased it, your old news… Brides Beware!!!

I just got a message from a worker and she was insanely rude. If you get a bad review, maybe you should look into your customer service and try to better your business. From the other reviews, it seems as though this company needs to have better customer service.
Before I highlight some of the message for you, let me say that any good salon would let any Bride look around, yes I know I can’t try on anything, but don’t shove me away. Here are some of the great things this person had to say:

Any company that declares to care about brides would never talk to a girl like this. And there is a reason they have F rating on BBB!

Dave and Nathan are super nice in person and on the phone, but it does not make up for my bridesmaids not getting their dresses when they were supposedly ordered in January for my September 9th wedding. By mid-​August, we had no word on the dresses, we cancelled the order since the wedding was also cancelled, and the girls were offered a possible refund.
The dresses were Bill Levkoff dresses. We ordered 6 different styles for each of my 6 bridesmaids with the same exact material (Euro satin) and color Euro champagne. I was told by Dave that the final order could not be sent out until ALL of my bridesmaids had gotten her size and dress selection since the first of the 6 girls had selected in November. Dave told me he would put a wedding date of August instead of September to help get the dresses sooner. He estimated to receive the dresses in June. When June came, we called, and he said there was a delay with the manufacturer and only then did he address a problem with having six different styles. We were told it would be another 6 weeks. At that time, I had already received my wedding gown that I had ordered from a different bridal shop and altered already — three months before the wedding.
It is now September 27th — and 4 out of the 6 bridesmaids have informed me that the are either getting a run around from the bridal shop or not getting their phone calls answered or messages returned from Dave nor Nathan. I am writing this to save any future brides from any unnecessary stress. This is terrible. My girls have lost half the money on the dresses because they have not received their refunds on their deposits and they don’t even have the dresses!

Originally, I loved this place, but that soon changed after I bought my dress.
Because I had a good eight months between buying it and actually getting married, I opted to have them hold onto my dress for me and do the alterations in-​house.
When I called to set up my first fitting appointment, they had to take a message and call me back later. I never got the call, so I called again, and was able to make an appointment but could tell they were stalling with me. Why? As I found out when I showed up later that week, they could not find my dress. One of the guys and I had to tear apart their storage room until we found it, in a bag, hanging on the back of a door.
Rosa did my alterations, and I had no complaints about this until for my final fitting, she took it in 1.5″ instead of 0.5″ which is kind of a big difference for something that fits like a glove. She promised that she would fix it and suggested that I come back later.
Given that I was on my way to my bachelorette party and that I live over an hour away, coming back later was not an option. She agreed to fix it then and there only after I started crying because I was being asked to choose between going to my bachelorette party or not having my dress ready for the following weekend when I was getting married.
The price for my alterations was considerably more than I was quoted up front.
I would also caution brides against giving the people here your email address. If you do, you will continue to receive bridal expo spam well after your wedding date.

Very unprofessional! I live in the city over an hour from this place. I made an appointment — dragged my mother, aunt and 2 of my brides maids on a Sunday afternoon to this store and they were a NO SHOW! I stood there in front of their doors that clearly said they were open from 4pm to 6pm due to a fashion show. My appointment was at 4pm… I waited 15−20min and before we walked back to the car I left a message that clearly explained I will be in the area in hopes that you return this call because I drove from the city and would have hated to make the trip for nothing. NO phone call came. No apology — NOTHING!
I can easily rant about what I could see through the windows… the décor, racks of poorly placed this and that, dated accessories etc… But since my experience of this store is no real experience at all — I will end by saying beware, the way they handled my situation could be the tip of the bad customer service iceberg.

I took both of my maid of honors here for bridesmaid dress shopping. One is very tall and thin and one is short and round. The staff here was unbelievable and treated each of them like gold. The staff was up to challenge to find a dress that would look great on both girls and they did an amazing job of making them comfortable and finding a very affordable dress. The customer service at this place is amazing. They have a lot of shoes, bridal accessories, invitations, limos etc… if you’d like to do all of your wedding planning in one location, this place can handle it.
