At the age of 13, MD started working in a barber shop, cleaning and supporting the nine barbers that worked there.

«I loved to see how happy the people were when they came in to get a haircut,» said MD, «and I knew I wanted to be in that atmosphere.»

When MD turned 17, he attended the Oak Cliff Barber College and earned his state license. Coming full circle, he returned to the shop where he had worked as a 13 year old, only this time as a barber. He was happy, but wanted to return to Duncanville.

When he saw a space for lease on the corner of Center and Main in Duncanville, he jumped at the opportunity. He created the shop’s look and feel to align with his philosophy. He wanted a family-​friendly environment, drug and alcohol free, where everyone would feel safe and comfortable. Add to that play areas for the kids and plenty of seating for adults and you have a winning combination.
