We had to have two units replaced at the same time and got a few quotes. CB Lucas was the most comprehensive giving us several options and came in with the best price. Mike explained the differences between the options, giving us the pros and cons of each helping us make the right decision for our needs as well as meeting a price we were comfortable with. When the day came for installation, they did both units on the same day, which I thought was pretty ambitious, but the company sent 4 guys to work on it and all of them, Butch, Chris, Brandon and Jordan came in, introduced themselves, told me where they would be working and what they would be doing. Very personable and professional. It was 90 degrees in the house while they worked in the basement and attic and they maintained their friendliness and professionalism throughout the day. They finished much faster than I anticipated and explained the completed work and new equipment thoroughly. I couldn’t be any happier with the level of service that CB Lucas provided.

CB Lucas and Co. installed a new Trane heating/​air conditioning system for me earlier this month (May 2016) and, from start to finish (sales, back office, installation), they were absolute professionals and a pleasure to do business with. As a customer, I felt that they were not just selling me new equipment (which I really needed) but also were dedicated to addressing the problems with my old system. They listened to the issues I was trying to fix with the new system and came up with practical and implementable solutions. The installers (Troy, Monica, Jordan) were true professionals and answered all my questions thoroughly and in terms that I could understand. Absolutely first class all the way. You can buy new HVAC equipment from just about anyone, but it takes a dedicated and professional team to put customer needs first. I heartily recommend CB Lucas and Co.

We needed a replacement HVAC system for our town home. Mike came out and did a thorough inspection before preparing an estimate, and did not try to sell the world to us. He gave several options and explained each one very well. We got 4 quotes from different companies, and not only was CB Lucas the most thorough, but also the best price. Two days later two guys from CB Lucas were installing the new system and did a fantastic job. It was obvious they were very experienced and detailed. They sat down with us in the end and went over the entire system. I highly recommend this company.

I utilized them via Lowe’s HVAC service. They gave me one of the four quotes I got. CB Lucas was the most professional and thorough of the four. They gave me options based upon what I needed and wanted. They also gave me the best value.
After doing a ton of research on the companies and the producrts, we made the decision to go with CB Lucas and Lowe’s. The turnaround from decision to installation was about 5 days.
The 2 guys that came to do the install were polite, professional and answered all of my questions. They walked me through the system and any routine maintenance we would have to do. We walked through a 36 point inspection checklist and that was it.
Both installers had been with CB Lucas for 10 years plus. That’s the sign of a good company to me and my experience validated that.

Our heat pump died in early May and I had to research how to get a replacement before the hot weather started. It was hard to understand the different models but I wanted something that had a reputation for reliability and a reasonable price. I ended up getting bids on a Goodman 14 SEER heat pump and air handler (if you haven’t replaced your heat pump in the last few years, you will probably have to replace both the heat pump and air handler — that’s what I found out anyway). I also got a bid on a Lennox 14HPX heat pump and air handler. The final bid I got was on a Trane 4TWR heat pump and air handler.
Prices from the heating and plumbing companies were the following — each system was proposed by a different company:
Goodman — $ 6,660
Lennox — $ 6,500
Trane — $ 5,654
In researching the different systems online, the Trane seemed to be the best and it also had the lowest bid. I went with the Trane from C.B. Lucas A.C., Heating and Plumbing in Dumfries, VA – 703 590‑3700. The sales person was Troy. He, like all the other representatives, gave me a good technical overview of what was needed and what they could provide. Troy went a bit further and showed me the companies price list for the different systems. He said to always ask to see the price list.
C.B.Lucas company did a great job installing the system, they cleaned up the work area and did everything efficiently. I hardly knew they were there. The system has been working great. The Trane is larger than the old on, it much quieter and it cools better. It is also, according to the technicians, much more efficient. I am very happy with the work they did and I highly recommend them.
Be aware that you have to register the new system online within, I think, 90 days in order to get the 10 year warranty on the basic heat pump and air handler.

Chris from the company responded to my AC issue during the same day, fixed fuse and recharged the unit. Very on time and called 20mins ahead before arriving. Best ever

These guys are so amazing. Was told by another company that I needed new furnaces. I called CB Lucas who did a thorough job of checking my systems and no new system was needed at all. They saved me over $ 8,000 with their honesty. The other company was trying to rip me off, and CB Lucas saved the day! I won’t use anyone else ever again!

We have unusual experience four weeks after the initial service call. Trane system was serviced at our home. A few weeks later the system failed. The technician was unsure what was the reason, so he recommended to replace the system (motor and module). Expensive idea. The Trane 800 support recommended dispatching FSR, field service representative. CB Lucas representative rejected it and assaulted me verbally for even considering second opinion. DHS should consider CB Lucas to be included in the most wanted list. I feel sorry for technicians working for this family own house of horror.

Ever since I received a quite expensive quote from a competitor — the guy on the back of the truck — I’ve used them for HVAC repair, InSinkErator repair, plumbing issues, and dishwater water line repair. Very nice and professional folks, and the prices are quite reasonable. They told me what was wrong, what they did to fix it, and what to watch for in the future. They explained several other options without the up-​sell. In fact, one guy told me the part/​effort was so minimal (~$ 5 and 10 minutes), he wasn’t going to charge to fix it. I don’t know how you can NOT use a company like that.

I use CB Lucas for plumbing as well as HVAC service. Plumber (Greg) was great. Really did good work, was honest, charged me fairly. No hesitation if you need a plumber.

It’s never fun when your A/​C gives out in the middle of the summer. Thankfully, the guys from C.B. Lucas gave us a good deal on a new system (which we verified with an estimate from another company), and had it installed three days later, which seems almost miraculous at this time of year (August 3^rd). The best part was that the whole time my wife and I were dealing with them, from Doug, who came out to diagnose our problem and gave us the estimates, to Mike Lucas, who we worked out the details with, to Cody and Tony, who did the installation, we always felt like we were dealing with honorable people whom we could trust, and we haven’t been let down. Not to mention the fact that Doug, Cody, and Tony were collectively punctual, courteous, friendly, and the work they did was done with obvious attention to detail, including fixing some minor issues from the previous installation that weren’t their problem, but just made things better for us. Also, Cody and Tony left zero cleanup for me to do after the install, and Cody was very thorough in showing me the what was what with the new system. It’s rare to deal with people who understand good customer service these days. Thanks guys! I recommend C.B. Lucas unreservedly.
