History

Established in 1998.

Founded in a loft in DUMBO in 1998, Laura Taylor, Tanya Rynd and Cara Lee Sparry began hosting Supper Clubs for Brooklynites in the know. Shortly thereafter, they opened the very first Superfine in the back room of the Between the Bridges pub.

What made Superfine unique? Sure, great entertainment, yes, fun atmosphere, but what made them really stand out? They were trailblazers in the sustainable local slow food movement. Each ingredient for the menu was picked out that morning at the green markets around New York. Laura Taylor, chef and co-owner, created the signature clean fare flavor palate inspired by mediterranean flavors.

In 2001, one month after 911 Cara Lee, Tanya and Laura took on the task of transforming a DUMBO loading dock into a restaurant, lounge, bar and art gallery. Today, Superfine continues to serve a seasonally inspired menu of beautiful food that changes daily, showcases music and performance, and displays art by cool local artists.
