TOUR OF DULUTH, (HOME DECOR)
My husband and I love small towns and we especially love downtown Duluth, especially the Town Square. We became familiar with this area as we attended the annual Fall Arts and Craft Festival. I recently said to my spouse «We only visit this town during the festival and we need to actually go there when the festival is not in town, to do a little walking tour. So off we go on a Friday evening. I was just hoping that some of the shops would still be open since it was after five. To my surprise, they were still open and we were able to visit all of the little shops on Main Street. There is currently quite a bit of construction on Main Street so business hours are a bit fluid so you will need to ask about specific hours.
One of the businesses we visited on this night was the Farmhouse. It is a quaint and charming little building on the corner of Main and is located in one of the original 1880’s brick buildings. It is appropriately named because when you walk in, you are immediately transported to a simpler time and place. Everything about this store, from the walls to the furnishings and décor is just simple and elegant. It is the perfect place to go if you are looking for a unique decorative element to add to a room or office. There were also personal items and elements that would make perfect gifts especially for the friend who seems to have everything. Although there were several items to look at, I was too busy engaging the owner to really take it all in. She was very nice and personable and we enjoyed talking with her about Duluth and Alpharetta.
