Great family place with great food and service! They even have a grill side for people who do not like seafood and just want the traditional Mexican dish! Check it out if your looking for a great place to eat in Duluth area!

Yet his place is AWESOME! First off, don’t be in a hurry. The service is a little slow, but it’s worth it. Then again they are cooking some pretty awesome food. The complementary appetizer with crabmeat is great, but even better with the hot sauce. I had the Langosta this time. Oh, my. The guy at the bar next to me, had ordered it, and I just had to try it. Yes, I knew before I ordered it, that it was too big for one person. However it was totally worth it. Adding the Valentina made it even better. It is shrimp, scallops, octopus, crab, mushrooms, and onions in a split lobster!

My husband and I had always seen a full parking lot at this place so we decided to check it out. Well we didn’t enjoy ourselves. Our waitress took a long time to show up after we were seated, was MIA most of the time after that and didn’t give great service. I had the shrimp kabob. It was good but I was given the higher priced kabob without it being explained that there were two options for them on the menu. The two options were on separate menus. My husband really didn’t enjoy his meal(taco salad) or his drinks(House margarita and Long Island). They were weak. After eating the kabob and having a mango margarita, I felt like crap and went immediately to bed when I got home. Also, there was Mariachi band that played at your table at request. We don’t like live music at restaurants. They were really loud, used as small speaker and play 4 songs for the table next to ours. Then 2 songs at the table next to that. So annoying! The owner came by and checked on us a couple times. That was a nice touch, but we won’t be back.

Food was great and the drinks were really good. They give you a lot of food for your money and the drinks are decently priced. If you’re looking for good Mexican food in the area, try this place. I will definitely be going back there.

One of my favorite places so far! Moved to Georgia 3 months ago, originally from California. Randomly came here wanting authentic Mexican food/seafood. There are cute decorations outside, good sized restaurant. Ordered spicy fried red snapper. It was amazing! Served whole, head and all. So good! Reminds me of eating next to the ocean back in Cali. Portions are huge and flavorful. They have a big bar which is a big plus for me. Good entertainment like the mariachi band, Mexican music, and several TV playing sports. Overall a very good experience!

I was really excited to come here when I saw it wasn’t your typical Mexican restaurant. Their website even claims that they’re known for the best Mexican Seafood in Atlanta. When we walked in, it was packed! I noticed we were the only non-Hispanic customers in the restaurant. I thought that was cool, because that’s usually a good sign of authenticity. We were greeted and seated immediately. They have TV’s everywhere, a huge bar, and the décor is really nice throughout the whole restaurant. Another interesting thing is the mariachi band that goes around and plays. But if they’re anywhere near you, you can’t really hold a conversation because of how loud the music is… so, just listen and enjoy. They have a pretty extensive cocktail menu. All the drinks were kind of pricey, so I didn’t order one. We did end up getting a large horchata($ 4.50)… and when they say large, they mean large! The glass was huge! I thought it was just okay, though. I thought it was neat how instead of the typical chips and salsa served at most mexican restaurants, they bring you marlin ceviche, chopped onions and chopped tomatoes with tortillas & crackers. A REALLY spicy habanero sauce comes with it, too. I wouldn’t pay for this, but it was cool since it was free. What we ordered: –Shrimp & Cheese Empanadas Appetizer($ 6.99) — You get 4 empanadas for $ 6.99, and they come topped with avocado slices. They’re served with a spicy cilantro vinegar sauce. Not bad, but not great. –Filete Relleno($ 18.99) — There is A LOT of food in this entrée. You could easily share it with another person. It comes with tilapia topped with octopus, shrimp, crab, mushrooms, peppers, and cheese & sides of rice, french fries, and a couple pieces of bread. The fish was breaded, so all of the toppings on top of it made it really soggy. I didn’t love it. The toppings were pretty good, though. I also really liked the rice, it was very flavorful! French fries and bread were good, too. Overall, I’m glad I checked this place out. It was a neat experience, but I don’t see myself coming back.

GOODSELECTIOOFSEAFOOD, PRICEY, WEAKMARGARITIAS Las Costas has the largest selection of Mexican seafood I have seen anywhere. Good food, good flavor to the two dishes I have tried.(Never had a Mexican server not know what chili rellenos are till here!!!) The margaritas are very pricey($ 13 for a large), and among the weakest I have ever had. For the food – great place – a 4 or 4.5 Value– 2.

Great authentic Mexican Seafood restaurant. The bacon wrap shrimps were delicious. My wife had the shrimp kabobs and were great too. I would give them a shot next time you are in the area. They had live music when we visited. The wait was not long and it was so worth it.

Disappointed. Had great expectations. Bartenders not friendly. Ordered our food from a new server apparently, who told us our food would not be spicy. I love it but husband can’t tolerate it. Food came out and was beautiful to look at. Fish was all dried out. The shrimp with bacon was good. The lobster we could have chewed on for days and of course the rest was spicy. Yikes for $ 115 plate we had high hopes. The server just smiled at us and asked if we wanted to go boxes… yeah, not going back. The drinks were good though. Oh and we asked if we could have one of the tv’s channels changed. And the answer of course was no. Did not have an inviting feel to it. Staff just tolerated the guests…

So you’ve had Mexican food before and you know it’s always a choice that everyone is happy with. This is not the Americanized type of Mexican food. Sure, they have some dishes you’ll recognize, but some that will be a nice adventure. They’re known for their seafood dishes and they are indeed good, so try something outside of your comfort zone. I try to stay away from fried food so one of my favorites is Filete diamanté which is stuffed tilapia with crab, scallops, clams and something else hahaha. They also have red snapper in different versions. Dedicate your girlfriend a song by the mariachis if you can fork out $ 20 per song. Do you speak Spanish? Want to practice it? It’ll help you to, but no worries, they speak English too :-) Tag me and let me know how you liked it.

We had really high expectations for this this restaurant based on the excellent reviews. Unfortunately, our experience wasn’t the same as other reviewers. We were greeted immediately and taken to our table. The hostess was efficient but not particularly friendly. The restaurant was not very busy at 7:30PM but it took a little while before our server arrived at the table. Once she came by, however, she was extremely friendly and attentive. We ordered the filete diamanté, the huachinango zarandeado, and horchata. The server brought us a complimentary ceviche tostada as we waited for our meal. The ceviche was just OK — not a lot of flavor. It was served with a habanero sauce and lime wedges. Definitely use both — it helps the dish a lot. The filete diamanté was nicely cooked — moist fish and seafood. Unfortunately, flavor was also really lacking. This dish could have used a healthy dose of lime or other citrus to add brightness and flavor. Also, the fries were cold. The real failure in this dish is that they used imitation crab. Seriously? The huachinango was actually quite good. The sauce on the snapper was excellent and it was cooked perfectly. It could have used a little more sauce but it was fine without it. The problem with the huachinango is the price — $ 39.50! It was listed as «market price» and I should have asked in advance. For that price, I can have sea bass at Pappadeaux or a NY Strip at Stoney River with a few bucks to spare. Both dishes were served with rice, grilled bread, and a big pile of lettuce, tomato, and cucumber. No dressing is served with the salad but the veggies were fresh. If you include the sides, the servings are pretty large(not nearly large enough to justify 39.50, though). I’m not a horchata fan but my wife said it tasted like a mix she bought once. She wasn’t impressed. And that pretty much sums up our entire experience — not impressed, especially for the price.

I went there on a Saturday evening around 8:20 pm. The place was crowded and had to wait for about 10 – 15 minutes. The decoration was quite nice with low lights and mariachis playing from table to table. They brought us some chips, salsa and a small salad as an appetizer(for free). The waiter warned us that the salsa was hot and he was not mistaken, it was buuuuurning hot. The menu has a very wide variety of dishes mostly over $ 10 dollars. Many dishes go for $ 15 or $ 20 but from what I could see around other tables, portions were quite large. The restaurant specialty is sea food, with mostly grilled fish and shrimp. I ordered the taco salad fajita and my friend a burrito. Both dishes under $ 10. They were quite good but the burrito was much better than my taco salad. Overall, a great experience. Just be prepared to spend at least $ 15-$ 20 dollars per person and if you are ordering drinks, then even more.

Food was really good. Drinks were ok. Service was just ok. Price: way too pricey. A friend got a $ 24 drink, i forgot what it was called but it was like a spicy/salty alcoholic drink with chunks of pineapple and mango. Almost like a michelada WITHOUT the tomato juice but rather with like pina juice or mango juice. I don’t like salty/sweet/spicy drinks. I just remember it was $ 24 per drink. I got a margarita for $ 14 per glass. Went on a tuesday. I didn’t feel welcome here i guess because I don’t look Hispanic enough. Whatever. The food was good though.

This place is amazing. I ordered the fried whole tilapia with spicy sauce. It was to die for. Super fresh and extra crispy with head and fins just like how I like my fish. It came with rice and bread that was also very yummy. I ordered the coco loco drink. It was yummy with real coconut but didn’t even taste any alcohol at all. Don’t think I’ll order drinks from here again. Service was excellent.

This place is amazing! We were visiting from Texas and stopped by because of the reviews on Unilocal.Best seafood I’ve ever had! I ordered the Piña Rey, which was a huge portion but very tasteful. Everything my family ordered was fantastic as well. Their Aguachile is to die for! Better than others I’ve had at beachside restaurants. We went back a second time before we made the trip back home.
