Description

Specialties

Eddie Owen Presents is the songwriter’s best friend. It is a music venue, production company, music school, and a safe haven for performing singer songwriters and their fans. We are based in Duluth, Georgia at Red Clay Music Foundry — a 257-seat listening room that hosts the very best of singer songwriters.

Music is a universal language that knows no boundaries. Songwriters and the stories they tell span the bridge of time with melodies and lyrics that speak to all walks of life. These artists weave magic that, now days, most people only experience through their play list. However, a renaissance of sorts is taking place in Historic Duluth that is adding a progressive dimension to this north metro Atlanta town, drawing people from near and far. This is due in part to the live music setting engineered at Red Clay Music Foundry (aka RCMF), the songwriter’s best friend.

History

Established in 2011.

Historic Duluth boasts a Main Street that welcomes visitors with a comforting blend of retro charm and contemporary vibe. With the motto, ‘where everything old is renewed again,’ and a city slogan, ‘pride in old and new,’ you get the sense this community has fully embraced the concept of revitalization. And in the midst of the tantalizing eateries, quaint shops, the lure of an open-air town green and intriguing mix of arts and entertainment venues lays a treasure — Eddie Owen Presents @ Red Clay Theatre.

At this independent music and songwriter venue, an eclectic group of patrons from around the region routinely gather to relish the raw musical talent on display. Founder Eddie Owen likes to say, «Life is in the song,» and he has a particular talent for spotting emerging artists. After all, he helped superstars John Mayer, the Indigo Girls and Sugarland get their starts by giving them an intimate stage to hone their craft and build a following.

Meet the Business Owner

Eddie O.

Business Owner

Born and raised in the Atlanta area, Eddie Owen’s introduction to the music business came while he was attending Georgia State University earning Bachelor of Science Degree and bartending on the side. He began booking acoustic acts at a Decatur club, the Trackside Tavern, where he was working, including the Indigo Girls, Shawn Mullins, and others who later gained national prominence. After spending a decade learning the ropes, he created Eddie’s Attic. In 2002, Owen decided to give up his ownership of the venue, but remained on board to manage the music and club operations. In 2011, Owen partnered with the City of Duluth, GA to operate the Red Clay Theatre, and formed the company Eddie Owen Presents, LLC. All endeavors were built on the premise «life is in the song!»
