When walked in it smelled like it would be a great place. Décor was nice and service was pleasant enough. Should have been a warning sign that there were hardly any people in there at Noon for lunch? I ordered the prime rib dip sandwich with home made potato chips. The bread was not good. No butter or toasted. Just like eating a dinner roll before warmed up. The meat was hardly prime rib. It favored more a steakum looking meat full of grizzle and fat. The chips were decent but a bit cold and chewy. Needless to say, for $ 10 it was disappointing. I don’t think I will be back. Too many other places with much better quality food in the area.

This was our first visit. Pleasant. Great inside but confusing. Nice open space and good décor. Big TV’s are all around but not a sports bar atmosphere. A live band was setting up although this had a nice quiet setting with nearly a full house. There is a nice bar but it sits in the middle of the house so not sure how the bar crowd separates from the dinning crowd. Friendly greeting and prompt sitting. Waitress was friendly and efficient. Service throughout the dinner was good. We ordered an appetizer of bacon wrapped shrimp. Tasty and good sized shrimp. The sauce that came with it was neutral to bland. Expected a spicy one. Ordered salmon with southwestern rice. My partner ordered the two pork chops with garlic mashed potatoes. Both came quickly. Presentation was very neutral with no garnish or flare. The pork chops were outstanding. Thick and juicy. They had a wood grilled taste and were quite good. The mashed potatoes could have used a lift with more garlic and spice. They were pretty normal. Salmon was very tasty with a honey glaze and wood grill flavor. The rice was neutral and could have benefited with some spice. I would say the food was good and very tasty. There was nothing outstanding about the food. It was kind of bland. There was a gap between the price and quality of the meal. I would have expected some type of garnish or ‘extra’ with the meal. The are several of my favorite restaurants very nearby. The Salmon was not as good as Hurricane grill or Longhorn. This is a new place and I plan to return for their $ 5.00 burger and chip Wednesday. I owe them a chance to see if there are any surprises. I suspect not since generally things level out after being open a while. I hope not. This is a pleasant place for a nice dining experience and conversation compared to those where the noise is distracting. Also wonder what the impact the live band will have. So my rating is a fair assessment bur can certainly improve.

This was our first time at Durango Wood Fire Grill. We thought the menu was a little pricey for the style of food, but we are willing to pay for great quality. It was a huge disappointment! My husband ordered the $ 17 salmon with one side, and got a lump of pale looking fish with a scoop of mashed potatoes… WAY overpriced! I ordered the Classic Burger and fries for $ 11. The meat was dry, and under seasoned, and even though I asked for it well done, it was pink in the middle. The fries were okay, but nothing to rave about. Bottom line, we won’t be going back.

We ate there again last night and it was great!!! Had the ribs and they were awesome. We also had the spinach artichoke dip for an app and it was very good! My son had a ribeye and loved it! I don’t understand why Unilocal has hidden 27 good reviews and only leaves the bad ones? WTH is up with that? I feel like they are TRYING to hurt a new small business! Give it a try it’s good!

I’m only rating Durango a 3 because anything rated OVER a 3 is stashed in Unilocal’s «not recommended» folder. Please go to that folder to see all the 4’s and 5’s — which incidentally hold 27 reviews of 4’s and 5’s over the 18 bad reviews currently posted. I’m not going to hold any credence to Unilocal in the future.

Went here for dinner, I cannot say much for the service because by the time my wine finally got to me my food was about to come out. But the spinach dip was great, and I got the rib eye which was cooked perfectly just as I asked. My only gripe with the steak was that it was a little thin. Otherwise the food was actually very good.

This place is terrible. The food is awful and service even worse. I got a drink and an appetizer at the bar with my girlfriend and will never go back. If your in the area save yourself some time and go to twisted taco.

Extremely disappointed!!! Don’t usually post many reviews but my experience was one of the worst. When I first walked in the staff greeted us and seemed very polite and nice. We decided on the calamari. Although the presentation was nice, when the waiter brought the calamari it had a heavy fishy smell !! After tasting we immediately sent it back. Instead of an apology for being empathetic to bringing out what seems to be rotten calamari, The waiter seem to take offense and asked if we wanted for them to cook more. Of course the answer was no because if that batch is bad or contaminated of course the rest of the calamari is… The remainder of the short time there, the waiter continue to get the order mixed up. Manager never came over to speak and apologize for our horrible experience. I could continue further with my statement of disappointment, but I will just sum this up to say that I would never return or recommend this establishment !! The one star was for the pleasant greeting we received when walking in.

Service at the bar was okay. Good was very bland. Crab cake had no flavor. The«homemade» remoulade sauce was just tasted like mayo. And for $ 10, the size was disappointing. Salad was all iceberg. And again, not much flavor. We will not be back.

Just read some of the other reviews and hate to say we had the same bad experience. 1st off my husband and I ordered a glass of wine. Not the same wine but two different kinds! Both were rancid like they had been sitting for a couple of days. My husband ordered a rib eye and it was all fat, about a half inch thick and tasted like it was bad meat. Salads were iceberg lettuce. Nothing special for the prices.

Not impressed! Wife had the salmon which lacked flavor. I had the pork chops which was served in a tasty sauce, but I didn’t get any of the wood fire flavor they boast about. Both were served with«nothing special» mashed potatoes. Beer was good and cold, but not inexpensive. Had to go find our waitress and interrupt her texting to get a second one. I don’t think this place will be around long due to the quality of the food and the service, so if you want to try it, go soon.

Walked in and Walked out. I no longer eat in places that are so smoke filled that I have to go home, take off ALL of my garments down to the skin and run the washing machine. I had on a brand new sweater! I asked the waiter if his clothes were smoky when he got home and he said«yes». I walked OUT!

Mmmmm. So good. Went with my husband and two kids. I had the shrimp and grits, hubby had the prime rib and the kids had steak and veggies. Zack, our server, was knowledgeable, had awesome suggestions and checked on us often — with a smile! my husbands prime rib was amazing but Zach said it would be. We also had drinks — and they were strong! We live in the neighbourhood — I see us coming back often. Loved the food and our server!

I went to this restaurant last weekend with my boyfriend to try something new. We were pretty excited at first to have a new place in the area to try out but not for long. First of all, the service was extremely slow, even though they were not crowded by any means. When we received our food, we were shocked. The presentation was horrible. My boyfriend got the southwestern roasted chicken. It looked like someone just threw a piece of chicken on the plate. It looked dry, and it had no taste of southwestern flavor whatsoever. My food was not any better either. We spent a lot of money for a couple of meals that were not tasty or flavorful at all. I am sorry to say that I do not recommend this place, and we will not be going back there again. Save your money for some other place that’s worth it.

Their food had always been good. The service has been a little lacking. We found it especially lacking on our last visit. The steak that was ordered medium came out closer to rare. A steak place should not be making these rookie mistakes. They took back the steak and recooked what was left. A manager never came over to apologize they left that to the server. The management seems to not be trained in customer service for this day and age. We have never seen management come around and greet customers which for restaurant of this level seems to show lack of experience of the management. The food and drink for the most part has been good. It is a good local place once the management issues have been worked out.

What a train wreck! Let me be fair by first pointing out the single high point: great bar. The bartender was friendly and knew how to make a terrific martini. And now the rest of the story: * Inept service. It was as if the waitress had not only never waited a table in her life, but that she’d hardly had experience speaking with people she didn’t know. Painfully shy and soft-spoken. Had not a clue what she was doing and didn’t know the menu. * Poor organization. The restaurant was all but empty and still we waited forever for our food. Then we got our entrees without ever having received salad. When we pointed that out to the waitress, she whisked away the entrees and out came the salads. * Really bad food. Limp salads that had little but iceberg lettuce. My husband’s rib eye steak was what I’d call an alleged rib eye. It was the thinnest steak I’ve ever seen. Charred on the outside and completely raw inside. He send it back to be cooked and got shoe leather in return. Everything was bland. * Ridiculous prices. Given the quality of the food, the prices are way out of line.

There certainly seems to be a couple of «fluffed» reviews for this place. That’s scary since the place is new and the only reviews with a any substance are negative. Well here is another one. This place is NOT reasonably priced at all FOR what you get. Let’s start with the positive, there are a couple. The place is nice inside. It’s kind of a cross between a Houstons and a sports bar for lack of a better description. Also, the service at the bar was very friendly and pretty efficient. I understand service issues with a new restaurant. The real problem is the food. We started with the Calamari. It comes with marinara(which was described as such I the menu) and we don’t really like marina with calamari but we wanted to try it anyway. The calamari itself was clearly frozen. There were only rings, none of those delicious tentacles. It just tasted frozen. Next, the caeser salad dressing was tastless making the salad completely forgettable. Now, the steaks you think would be the star at a ‘wood fire grill”. Not the case here. My wife got the ribeye which is our steak of choice and we grill at home. These steak was about a ½″ thick. I got the blackened prime rib. Same thing. Very thin. The menu claims that all beef is certified Angus. I know that doesn’t mean much but the meat just didn’t take normal. We couldn’t put our finger on it but the meat just wasn’t good. Oh and the sides, macaroni and cheese is a «premium side» so it’s $ 1 or more extra… really??? It came in a separate dish and you could tell it had been microwaved because the cheese had melted off the macaroni on top. They didn’t even try to Doctor up the looks with bread crumbs, etc. Not sure what cheese they used but it tasted sour like it was spoiled. I would stay away until they get the issues resolved!

A group of a dozen met for dinner. The waitstaff was pleasant and attentive, but the food they were required to deliver was sub-standard. I had a half roast chicken supposedly flavored with Southwest seasoning. Well, if the chicken had been within a half mile of cumin, cilantro or chiles I’d be surprised. And it was about as dry as you could make chicken. Go to Publix and get a whole roast chicken, or rather two for the price. Take it home and«pig» out. But don’t waste your money on Durango’s version. Oh, and the fries I ordered were marginal and I was surprised to have ketchup come in a small plastic takeout container with a snap on top. That’s not«sit down steakhouse» worthy. My wife had the mussel appetizer as her main. Smallest mussels we had ever seen and pretty tasteless. She had to squeeze lemon into the«Marinara» to give it any identifiable profile. And my friend sitting across from me seemed to be struggling with the trout, though he is a bit of a challenge to feed. Still. Add to the joy a $ 14 single Woodford and the evening was a dining black hole. I will decline future events if they include eating here. My sympathies to the waitstaff. They deserve better.

Don’t go here. It’s horrible. Place smelled like plastic. The«wood fired flavor» on their burger and steak tasted way too overpowering and fake. Good service, bad food.

Had a slight wait, but nothing bad. New place ALERT! They still have some issues. I give it three stars because of its newness. Otherwise, I would give it four stars. We were greeted by our server in the correct amount of time. Menu is what you expect at such an establishment; Steak, bacon wrapped shrimp, salmon, chicken, fajitas., etc. We ordered our food and waited awhile to get it. In fact, we were warned it would take awhile longer, after waiting for some time already. Once we got the food, it was warm. Not hot and fresh. We said something and they promptly took it away. A few minutes later, hot food came back and it appears to be a completely different order, but we aren’t 100% sure it was. It was far better than warm. Food tastes good and it was also dry a bit. My wife’s fajitas were delicious, but the plate was so hot it «crispied» the meat. I got the Honey Salmon, and it was amazing, unit I got to the second fillet and it was dry. Overall, the food was good, service was excellent(though, they didn’t refill our waters) and they took care of the bill because of food quality(they did it without saying anything).
