Capaldis New York Pizza Company

NY style pizza made from unicorn meat, mermaid tears, and the succulent bread made from grain that was organically and sustainably harvested by a commune of hippies wearing leather aprons, horn rimmed glasses, pomade, and neckbeards with waxed mustache ends. Some of them also wear bowler hats and a monocle. So the grain is really harvested by hippies and hipsters, but I digress.
The pizza is awesome. It’s a quiet hole in the wall sort of place, which is exactly how it is in NYC. You should go there. If you don’t, you hate America.

Their pizza is as good as any I’ve had in nyc, Chicago etc. pizzas as oversized, prices are very reasonable and delivery is fast and friendly. First rate.

Got a 14″ pepperoni pizza (same size as most places Large) for $ 6.50– carryout special. Also got half a meatball sub and cannoli. The meatballs were delicious– best I’ve had in years. Cannoli was good also. I look forward to trying their calzone. When I went in before noon, already a half dozen people in there eating their all you can eat pizza for $ 5.99. Closed on Monday.

Seriously the best New York pizza in the Atlanta area! We eat there several times a month and my NY native father insists eating here every time he is in town. The owners Dave and Jessica are wonderful and are nice to my kids who pester them with questions every time we go in there, especially when they are throwing the pizza dough in the air. Everything is fresh and made to order. I highly recommend the Zeppoli’s, or as I call them little fried balls of heaven, for dessert!
The folks at Capaldi’s have been very generous to my kids school as well, delivering last minute, helping us with warming bags for big orders and going over an above to be helpful. I personally like to support small businesses over chains whenever possible, especially those who go out of their way to support the community!

I’ve gotten take out/​delivery a few times. You can’t beat the $ 5 carry out in terms of value. I like the pizza, but my kids think the crust is too chewy (granted they’re comparing it to Domino’s). The Greek salad is good, but I was disappointed it didn’t have Pepperoncini. The atmosphere/​ambiance is not good, so it’s best to order take out or delivery. Overall 4 stars for good food but an even better value!

Love this place!!! Free delivery and really good pizza!!! Just recieved our first delivery and it is absolutley amazing. I put a Bic lighter in the pizza box to show the enormous size of their pizza! Screw you pizza slut!

This place is a dive and I love it. Thin crust New York style pizza for a great value. My little side salad was cold and fresh and the staff are super nice folks. It’s casual with rock tunes playing in the background. Looking forward to coming back and try in some other goodies.

This review is going to be more enthusiastic than my others because it has been a trial finding good pizza down South. Many places are recommended and none have impressed. This joint is the first to feel like true NY pizza. Too bad it’s not in my neighborhood — today it would have become our go-​to pizza place.

I love this place and their $ 5 (plus tax) 14″ cheese pizzas for takeout only! You can put toppings on it for extra. I go their fairly often as it is close to work!

If you are craving a real NY style pizza, the kind that has proper pizza grease and zesty pizza sauce and that you have to fold in half to eat, look no further. After growing up in the North, I was really confused by the sweet sauce that so many of the local pizza joints use down here. I’ve been looking for awhile for pizza that really tastes like it did back home. This is it. Oh, and the garlic knots are awesome, too.

Pizza comes closest to real NY style pizza! The calzones are super cheesy and pizza slices have a nice crunch. Stromboli is to die for I LOVE this place!

There are many places in metro ATL that offer NY style pizza. Some do it really well to almost perfection, and there are many that fall flat. I’ll put this place somewhere in the middle for now. When you walk in, it has the look and feel of a NY pizzeria with NY décor on the walls. You can order by the slice which is cool, but I opted for a whole pie to take home. The prices aren’t cheap but you come to expect that from these kind of spots. **Friendly tip, if you are a Scoutmob user, they have a 50% off deal (min. purchase required). This is a good way to try this place out if you’re not sure.** When I went they honored this deal, so I got a large pizza for half the price.
Big pizzas are this place’s calling card. When I say their pizzas are HUGE, that is an understatement!!! I got a large, and it looked like it could feed a small army. Oh, and the biggest size they offer is an XL, so I can only imagine how big that is! Anyway, I opted for sausage, mushroom and olive on my pie. Upon getting my pie, I was disappointed to see that it was not sliced or thicker Italian sausage, but the small crumbly bits-​type sausage. You have to look close to see it and you could barely taste it too. Maybe I’m being nitpicky, but I like the meat to be at least noticeable when I get a pie. If I go back maybe I’ll try pepperoni and see how that goes. The sauce seemed to lack taste to me, it was just OK. I will say that NY pizza is synonymous for floppy foldable slices that have oil dripping down when you fold it. This pizza did do just that, so they get points in my book for that. But on overall taste, the pizza was good, passable, just OK. Not knock your socks off good. In summary, I’d say it passed the eye test but not so much the taste test.
Even with all that said, I liked the vibe of the place enough that I will give it another chance if I’m in the area and see if another pie will change my point of view, especially since outside the perimeter, quality pizza places are harder to find.

Been looking for a New York style pizza joint for a really long time and finally found a place we loved. Hand tossed pizza right when you order and it’s delicious. Can’t beat the 14″ pizza for $ 5! They have other stuff as well– calzones, philly cheese steaks.etc. We just ordered pizza but the table next to us ordered calzones and philly sandwiches and from their long intense moaning noises, I’m pretty sure they’re delicious as well. Next time I’ll be order my own pizza and not sharing!

I know a few people said the owner is a prick. I’m not sure who the owner is, but the bearded dude with the ink was nice to me. Perhaps the quote from the Wizard of Oz explains it, «He’s really gentle, with gentle people, that is.»
Anyway, maybe a la BB’s Bagel’s the workers are cranky to some, but the pizza is good. Bottom effing line: this is possibly the best NY style pizza in the state.
Can only vouch for whole pizza. Slices risky outside big city where they may have been sitting out for a while. Fried pickles not in the same league as their pie.
Like Joe’s NY Pizza, no creature comforts. It’s a no-​frills pizza parlor and not much else. But I shall return.

This place is soooooo good!
I haven’t had a taco pizza in forever; I haven’t found anywhere in Atlanta that does it. It is everything I was hoping for!

Sorry I just don’t understand the high marks for this place. Walking in quickly noticed it was empty but for one couple waiting on sandwiches and two employees, one slinging dough the other waiting for a delivery so he could make his run.
Having only one person working on orders it took awhile for pizza to get to the table when going to check on it (30 min. in) found that was just being made so I smiled and waited…
I’ll get straight to the point, the pizza when it arrived had an odd smell to it and after trying it quickly figured out it was coming from the black olives and had to pick them off.
The pie was asked to be crispy but the middle still came out soft and the rest of it just plain tough. Also a napkin had to be used to clean up the extra grease on top.
Two slices in quit just not liking the way it tasted, I asked for a box to be polite and threw it in the trash knowing it would never be eaten.
Pepto-​Bismol had to be used when arriving home due to indigestion for the rest of the evening. One person stated «Capaladi’s was good for stay overs and birthday parties» I would agree due to the sizes and the little one’s not knowing the difference between cheap ingredients and good ones.

It was delivery, but judging from the other reviews, the owner sounds awesome, very NY.
Medium is like a LARGE, with slices you can fold up, the real deal.

The owner is rude. He yelled at a customer and kicked him out of the restaurant when I was there. The owner needs to take his Yankee self back to New York. This is my town. I am the Sheriff. If it was such great New York pizza, Why is he here working and not in New York? They ran out of cheese the other day, and everyone filed out of the restaurant one by one. I want to file the motion for them to move to New York. This is our nice Southern town. The owner is RUDE!!!

Holy moly, the pizza is AWESOME! It’s got a great crust and the perfect ratio of sauce and toppings. If you order it and take it to go and don’t have to deal with the owner, it’s an awesome experience and I would give that a 5 stars.
But if you’re planning on eating in, avoid the grouchy, ill-​tempered, sour-​faced owner at all costs! The way he was barking at his employees as we first walked in should have been the first clue. He’s the pizza maker and he’s got that skill down to a science, but every other part of dealing with him is totally miserable.
Also, if you’re planning on using the Scoutmob, please save yourself the trip. The owner told us (quite rudely) that he’s not using it anymore. So, basically he’s got Scoutmob sending customers to him, but not honoring the deal.
So, to sum up —
1. Take out, don’t eat in (especially if you don’t want your food thrown at you and you don’t enjoy the sounds of yelling and cursing while you’re eating your meal).
2. Don’t plan on using a coupon of any sort.
3. This seems to be a lunch place, so don’t go at night. We have now been there three times since the pizza is great, but have learned to hide our kids from the abusive pizza-​maker, grab the pizza, and run home to safety.

Their pizza is so awesome and sold by the slice. I have been searching forever in GA for very good thin crust Northeastern style pizza sold by the slice. There was nothing in Midtown when I lived there but Fellinis and that didn’t cut it. Baby Tommy’s was close, but doesn’t touch Capaldi’s pizza style. Antico’s Naples style of pizza is delicious, but $$$ and sold by the pie. I craved what I grew up with in the NE and that is ultra thin crust with a tasty sauce. I have finally found it here. The slices are huge, affordable, and fantastic.
I love that I was able to find this place so close to my new home in the burbs. This gem is located in a non-​descript and sad little strip mall on the corner of Peachtree Industrial and Abbotts Bridge without any decent signage. The strip mall has a big clock and Armandos restaurant on the corner.
Their calzones are also very good and huge. I recommend any toppings other than chicken though. I found the chicken to be low quality meat (grisly and fatty).
They have an AYCE slice special for weekday lunches from 11 – 2. I haven’t been for the lunch, because I am afraid of what I will do to my body with all you can eat slices.
If you look at Papa Johns with equal disdain as the hipster pizzas covered with arugula and figs, then Capaldis is your place.
