The Giraffe Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is leaded by the Multiple times International Brazilia Jiu Jitsu Federation medalist Tiago Giussani. We offer introductory, advanced, female and kids classes. Our schedule is flexible so there will be aways a class for you! We are located inside Disciple MMA the most complete facility in Northern Virginia area. Come train with us!

History

Established in 2014.

In september of 2013 Tiago Giussani was invited by the Discple MMA Team to lead the Brazilian Jiujitsu Program in order to offer world class instruction for the MMA fighters and also the Northern Virginia Community. The timing was perfect and we all ready got 2^nd place overall all gyms in the biggest local tournament, Copa Nova. As the team was expecting we are expanding our programs all ready in order to create a big family with brazilian jiujitsu lovers.

Business Owner

Tiago Giussani was born on the 22 of January, 1986 in Brasília, Brazil. Giussani was introduced to jiu jitsu by his teacher, Tanque black belt, Marcelo Godoy, when he was 19 years old and just starting college in his native city. Prior to his jiu jitsu training, Giussani studied judo at the age of 7 under Paulo Dubois, and then later began Capoeira with Master Ralil from Raizes do Brasil. Fighting in the adult division, Giussani has faced many jiu jitsu giants such as Alexander Trans, Yuri Simoes, and Guto Campos. Tiago has also trained in São Paulo at Cia Paulista with legendary black belts — Eduardo Santoro, Max Trombini, and Eduardo Leitão. Tiago Giussani received his black belt in 2011 from the hands of Ricardo Reis, Tanque Jiu Jitsu’s namesake. Tiago continued to test himself in tournaments all around the world, medaling consistently in both his weight class and open weight division. He is well known as one of the Tanque‘s most representative competitor all around the world.
