Beautiful little coffee shop in Dublin. Perfect for the person with a sweet tooth AND the coffee expert with an esteemed palette. Humble, comfortable & always wonderful, Winan’s has become my biggest recommendation to any visiting. Pick up a Karamel Kiss or the Winan’s house blend the next time you’re in the area. You won’t be disappointed!

One of the best places in the area for some good desserts and coffee. Staff is very nice and friendly. The place is well organized and price is very reasonable.

I really enjoy the Winans in German Village as a place to drink tea and hang out, with or without work. I’ve tried to do the same at the Dublin location and have never been particularly satisfied. However, the place is Fine Chocolates & Coffee, and I have no reason to believe either the chocolate or the coffee fail to live up to the«fine» attribute, so I’m going with a three-star benefit-of-the-doubt rating. I guess they don’t get too many people who, even with their very cute little bistro tables in front of the store. The seating is very scanty, and each time I’ve taken my cup to a seat instead of out the back door(where the parking is), I feel like I’ve done something wrong. The employees sometimes look a little confused at first, as if their first impulse is to GPS me the directions to the exit, until they remember there are a couple of chairs up there. If it weren’t for the fact that the German Village location has a ton of sit-down traffic, I’d have given that up after the first try. The first time I stayed to work at the Dublin location, I found that their version of having wifi was a Time Warner thing that I’d have had to sign in for and then only(if I could figure it out that far) connect for an hour. Since then they’ve gotten their own, but I thought it was indicative of how little they expect anyone to stay there. It’s far more of a retail store than a coffeehouse. The most recent time I was there, I ended up in a strange and confusing conversation with the employee after I ordered tea and handed him a travel cup to fill. We were talking past each other for a few minutes because he seemed confused, and I couldn’t tell what he was confused about, but I think it had something to so with the tea plus travel cup(plus, possibly, the fact that I’d given him a cup sleeve to punch as well as the fact that out of habit I had said«for here,» which of course isn’t necessary when you have a travel cup, but it also shouldn’t be confusing) combination. Eventually, he figured out that all he had to do was put the tea bag and the water in the same cup and punch my sleeve, but boy did it take a painful minute to get there. My sweetie was with me, and there was a bit of awkwardness over her request for iced tea, as well. They didn’t have any prepared(I don’t know if they never do or if they just didn’t have any that day), and she turned down their offer to put hot tea in a cup with ice cubes. After we spent an hour or so sitting equally awkwardly at our lone and probably underused table, we went across the street to get tea at the place where there was not going to be any confusion about it. Here is the positive, though. The tea itself was fine, and the store smells amazingly of chocolate. The chocolate-covered pretzels are phenomenal(though not even the dark chocolate is vegan). There was a steady stream of morning traffic coming through for coffee, and if you’re a coffee drinker you’ll have less of a line and a more locally inclined conscience coming here than going to the Sbucks around the corner. The employees’ interactions with regulars is very bubbly and positive and less awkward than any I’ve had with them. The parking behind the building is super-easy, and I’ve never seen it not have room(to get into it from High St, turn onto Spring Hill Lane and then right on Blacksmith). If you live roughly equidistant to the Dublin and German Village locations as I do, however, I’d head south.

It’s easy to miss this place in amongst the shops of downtown Dublin, but a great little place. I had been told that their frozen hot chocolate was fantastic and they were right! Definitely addicted and looking forward to my next visit.

Latte wasn’t hot enough. Barista was real nice and chatty to the first timer patrons ahead of us but sadly didn’t give me the same service.

I stumbled upon this place and WOW! Ordered a flavored coffee, sat, and relaxed at their stools at the front window looking out to the city. Many gift ideas are available and I found myself wanting to keep buying! Very fine chocolates and the covered nuts, crackers and cookies. Clean and a friendly helpful staff.

The wait was over 20 minutes and only 3 people in line. Ended up leaving without coffee or any of those caramels I had my eye on.

Was over in Old Dublin after running some errands on that side of town. We were looking for a Starbucks to sit down in and do some work, but were thrilled to find Winans instead. They have very limited seating inside, but most of the other customers that stopped by while we were there got their coffee to go. They have free Wi-fi and were more than happy with us staying for a few hours while we did some work. Both their coffee and chocolates are delicious!

I have often wanted to stop in and try this place out. Two of my favorites … chocolates and coffee. It is a family run business that has several locations through western Ohio along with a couple store locations in the Columbus area. Part of the challenge with this location for me has been their hours. They are only open at 8 a.m. weekdays and 11 on weekends. In the evening, they close by 6 on weeknights and by 4 on Saturdays and 6 on Sundays. I was finally in downtown Dublin when they were open. They are located a couple blocks south of the main intersection in downtown Dublin. They have a quaint, comfortable interior lined with all sorts of delectable sweet treats as well as an offering of their different packaged coffees. They are most willing to make one of their coffee drinks for you. Service was friendly and willing to help. I picked up a small package of their salted carmels and another of their meltaways to satisfy my sweet tooth. They chocolates did not disappoint. They have a nice internet presence.

As a tourist, I’m always looking for local, fun places to eat. I was so excited to see this place because it combines two of my favorite things– chocolate and coffee! When we got to downtown Dublin we were so excited at how cute it is! So many cute shops, restaurants, etc! Winans is a small little shop that smells like delicious chocolate when you step in the door. The guy working was friendly and fast at making our drinks. I got the oreo frappucino and my husband got the frozen lemonade. Both were delicious and greatly made! We also got a couple caramels, which were also great! Loved this little place! Wish we had one close to our hometown in TN! If we ever travel through Dublin again, we will be sure to stop in!

Asked my coworker if she wanted to grab coffee she suggested this place. Best iced coffee I’ve had. Now I’m ruined; my coffee(from a well-know chain) this morning didn’t compare. Chocolates all looked delicious and I tried a dark chocolate cashew turtle. Yummy!

Most mornings I drive by this Winan’s location on my way to work and part of me salivates thinking about their enjoyable and decadent chocolates. The smells in here are full of coffee and richness once you enter. This place might be heaven for coffee drinkers. Unfortunately, I am not one of them. However, I LOVE chocolate. There are a few places in and around Ohio where I feel you can get some decent chocolate and confections, and this is one of those places. Some stand outs: **The Miss Claire’s **The chocolate chip cookie dough chocolates **The honey comb chocolates **The toffee They also carry some decent mint chocolates, and my personal favorite are the sea salt caramels. Both the dark and milk chocolate varieties were the bomb. Some of the flavors were mimicking of Anthony Thomas, but doesn’t leave you with the waxy disappointment that often comes with AT. They make WAY more than just chocolates. You should really check it out. Everything looks really yummy, and your sweet tooth will not be disappointed. Sometimes the workers seem kinda meh and un-enthused, but they’re still helpful on suggestions.

My sister and I went to this store this morning to get coffee and specifically asked for soy milk as we both have a lactose intolerance. The guy working today said yes we have soy milk and clearly did not give us soy milk as we’ve been in pain all day. Thanks a lot for lying and not being considerate of our health. You can take your chocolates and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine.

Wandering the streets of Dublin a weekend before Valentine’s Day, I dropped into Winan’s on a whim, a spur-of-the-moment decision that turned out to be quite fortuitous for my holiday oriented shopping… though perhaps not for my waistline. The space holds a candy store and coffee café. I can’t comment on the latter as I had already downed more than enough caffeine earlier in the day. The chocolate, however, is excellent, especially the buckeyes. I love the chocolate-peanut butter combination, but all too often find that the PB used is far too sweet and smooth for my tastes. Luckily, Winan’s has a choco-PB treat just for me. The terribly addictive buckeyes blend rich chocolate that melts in your hand with creamy but strongly flavored peanut butter, giving it a great homemade taste and texture that I love. …without having to make a massive mess in my kitchen. But if a sweeter blend is your thing, Winan’s also has the milder peanut butter smidgens. Of course, peanut butter is not the only thing available, and though I have not tried everything, my family to whom I gave 6 piece samplers(around $ 5 each) said each piece I gave them was great. The flavors offered are mostly the old classics — chocolate and mint, chocolate and orange, cherry cordials, chocolate with caramel(one my parent’s mentioned specifically as being delicious), and various chocolate-on-chocolate or solid chocolate treats. There are also chocolate covered nuts, graham crackers, and pretzels. The texture of the chocolate itself is very nice — creamy and smooth — but it still can last on the shelf a few months. …well, in theory. The boxes I gave my parents barely lasted the night… If you’re in a hurry, the store has lots of pre-made boxes, mostly of a single flavor, as well as bags of their own coffee, the pretzels, nuts, and so on. But you can also pick your own or buy in bulk from the display case. Doing so is not a problem, and the staff, at least on my visit, is great. Very friendly, helpful, and happy to make suggestions, the girl working the counter really made the experience a good one. Definitely drop in. Good chocolate is worth the calories once in a while. Oh, and first time visitors get to try a piece of chocolate gratis. My suggestion… …try the buckeyes.

This place has only been open a little while but it already feels like a part of the neighborhood. The place is warm and cozy. The stars here are the chocolates and the coffees. They make all the candy in Ohio(Piqua, I think) and the also roast their own coffee beans. This hands on approach sets it apart from some of the other coffee shops in the area. And, let me say, the care and attention shows in the final product. I am addicted to peppermint mochas. I ordered one here and it was the smoothest peppermint mocha I’ve ever had. It was a perfect blend of coffee, chocolate and mint… all the parts worked in perfect harmony. Quite possibly the best one I’ve ever had. The candy counter greets you when you walk in and I could have spent an hour staring at the goodies inside. In fact, I’ll probably go back and get some to give as gifts for Christmas(and pick up some for me). In short, this is a nice addition to the neighborhood and I’ll be back.
