Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking my twin sister into this wonderful establishment for a wig. From the moment we walked in, we felt a very home-​like atmosphere. Jamie is very friendly and was totally accommodating. Twin was able to wear her wig home and I could tell it really boosted up her self esteem. We plan on going back in the future. I highly recommend this wig shop.

Best hair extension quality I have ever seen! The hair is not cheap but I had my first set of extensions for 4 years and people thought it was my real hair. If you take care of the hair like your own, it will last a long time. The women in here are all friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place for extensions, and their wigs are beautiful also.

Exceptional customer service – knowledgeable, patient, skillful and kind! there is a variety of wigs to choose from and plenty of time and expertise to help with the process. I am grateful!
Only thing is the lighting is harsh – it’s florescent. yikes!

OKAY you are looking to buy a pricey wig? Read this. I just got back from this store and here is MY experience as a first time customer. I have lots of hair of my own, but since I don’t want to deal with it I have it braided and put a nice wig on top. At about two and half weeks ago I came into this store looking for a nice long hair wig. I tried various styles and they found the most beautiful wig ever perfect for my skin color and face. They were very knowledgeable that was a plus for me, and the quality of the wig was excellent. A week and half later came back to buy another one just the same style and color. Keep in mind that in a period of 1 ½ weeks I had bought 3 wigs at about $ 200 a piece! They did discounted the last two purchases because I paid for them at the same time…$ 20 each. That day I proceeded to leave the one I had on me for them to wash for the price of $ 25 since they offered. I know how to wash my wigs, but I just got lazy… Big mistake! In couple of days later I came back to pick up the wig the washed plush the new one ordered. I was very concerned with what I saw and I knew the wig was never gonna be the same. They miss handle the wig. The wig lost some of the luster and shine. Also it felt ruff and dry to the touch and it had lost the flair I felt in love with. The sides look stiff and had no flow. And the bounciness on top was gone! Also they put rollers and this one you are not supposed to. I told them each one of these concerns. Thank god I was wearing the same exact one so I could show them how different they looked. They, including the owner kept saying that there was nothing wrong with it and that they do change when you wash them… Of course I now this is bull cow unless you over used them or don’t handle them correctly. I told them that I will take the one I was wearing home and wash it myself to show them. And I did, but left the one they mess up at their store. DO NOT take a wig that they clean up for you home if you think they miss handle it!!! Also take a picture of it with them there to see before you leave it for them to clean cause if some thing goes wrong that is all you have is that picture. I brought the wig I washed back to them and my was absolutely beautiful and perfect. One of them even smelled it to see if I was telling the truth!!! The owner left saying that this other lady will steam the hair and blah blah, but I till left the wig with them and next day I came back to ask for a new wig…
The owner did order me a new wig, but after going back and forth about how unhappy I was and how she did not think there was ANYTHING wrong with it. And she even warned me that no exchanges this time… Which made wonder why she would say that. Beware… If the fault falls on their court for miss handling a wig that you give them to clean… they will be very sneaky and will tell you just about anything for you to take that wig home… DONT DO IT! I received my supposedly new wig in a ziplock bag after I told them not to take it out the package… Very shady if you ask me. This was my experience otherwise as a new customer, I would have given them 5 stars. They did not handle they messing up my brand new hair well! I don’t think I can trust them again.

I came here with mixed feelings because of the reviews, but it had been recommended by a hairdresser friend of mine.
I was delighted with the choice of wigs and the three ladies that helped me. Yes, there’s no privacy, but I guess it just didn’t matter to me, and made the interaction with the whole staff so much easier and casual.
Loved this place, and if needed, will definitely come back!

I am a user of hair extensions and was looking for a new set since my old ones were beginning to look worn out scruffy, so I decided to give this place a try.
I’ll admit it, I was impressed. One of the staff members took one look at me and correctly guessed the type, colour, and length of my extensions! It saved me a lot of the hassle I had previously experienced buying hair extensions.
The staff was very friendly and brought out the extensions for me to compare next to my natural hair. They also showed me the sample extensions they had and answered all of my questions. (How many pieces were included, type of hair, blah blah…) They even offered to order the 22″ extensions since they did not have them in stock for my hair colour (but I ended up buying the 18″ anyway which was the length I had previously.)
The extensions were a bit pricer than the ones I had purchased before (also human hair.) The 18″ cost $ 200 and I was told the 22″ cost $ 250 (so you have an idea.) The hair feels very soft and looks shiny though!
Overall I am satisfied with my purchase and will probably return when I’m due for a new set!

Beware… It does say «Absolutely no Returns» on the receipt…
I bought one here for an exorbitant price and the hair along the lace started falling out the second time I wore it. Super lame. It might have been because they sprayed wig hair spray on it before we bought it and I never washed it out? Or maybe I was brushing it too much? Who knows.
From now on, I’ll stick to ordering wigs online, since they have modern styles, no sales pressure, and are leagues cheaper (like $ 10-​$ 100 instead of $ 150-​$ 1500). If it doesn’t work out, it’s not a big loss. Etsy is a good bet — I got one from a seller called AnotherSummer for $ 30 that I love! So light and not puffy/​wiggy at all…
It’s fun to get a couple cheaper wigs and experiment with your style, especially if you don’t care about looking boring and normal! I have a purple one, black one, long brown with caramel highlights, and a white one (which altogether are probably just under the cost of the wig I got here). Unfortunately, I got the white one at another shop and they never told me it was sparse in the back… you could see my dark hair through it! What I’ve learned is:
1. Stay away from wig stores, most of them are bad quality compared with what you can get online for 6x cheaper.
2. If you buy online, make sure they have a good picture of the back (+multiple images). It’ll let you see if it’s too thin or too puffy looking.
3. Get the bangs cut professionally if they’re too long.
4. Thin caps and capless wigs will be more comfortable (and interfere with glasses less).
5. You don’t need to wear a wig cap if you don’t have any hair to hold back — just wash it once every 30 days you wear it.

We bought a human hair wig back in mid of March 2014. I would say the ladies there were very helpful and attentive to our needs and answer questions we had. They are either family or close friends working there, pleasant, patient and beautiful people.
We read some previous good/​bad reviews and saw of photos inside the shops and had some concerns because we were looking for a wig shop that has private boost /​stall to try out the wig. When we got there, we were pleasantly greeted at the door without judgment. I was already feeling comfortable inside browsing around the wigs. Yes, there was no privacy area/​room as in the photo. For some reasons, it felt OK there without being judge since the people/​customers in the shops were older folks who were also there for the same purpose that is getting a wig to make themselves look beautiful.
I can see how some people get offended by this shops since it’s all open without private area. If I was working in that area/​neighborhood where we fear that our coworkers or friends in the same neighbor might spot us without hair inside the shop, then I would probably choose to go elsewhere. We were not living in that neighborhood so it’s OK for us.
One thing about the shop is it has a big gigantic desk in the center and back of shop for office tasks. This is a big desk and does take a lot of space. I would say someone/​customer can easily make a bad judgement on this part such as saying the owner is selfish for having all the room for herself while neglecting customer’s privacy (not having a private area for trying wigs). I think just having 1 or 2 portable partitions (those that can fold in/​out) would be sufficient to block off area for privacy.

Buyer beware! The owner Janie, and her sister are very rude and unprofessional. The last thing a chemo patient that recently loss her hair needs is a phony, shallow, uncompassionate lady helping her try on wigs. I don’t understand the positive reviews, must be their «friends». The negative comments are right on, and that is what I experienced. There is no privacy when trying on the wigs, and that makes you feel worse and more embarrassed than you already are. The owner cuts all the tags off of these wigs, so you have no idea what country they are made, and they won’t tell you. The owner and her sister need a long vacation, or get out of the business, because they are clearly not happy people. I will tell you where to go where the service, staff, and selection are so much better. In Fremont, inside Washington Hospital. There is a store named Bras for Body and Soul. There is a private area for trying on wigs, the ladies working there are super! They are open on Tuesday and Thursdays. Give them a call and make an appointment. You will be glad you did!

Came with my friend. We had already been to 2 wigs shops, and it was pretty bad. I had seen the reviews of Valley Rags & Wigs, then received 2 referrals, so we planned a day! I’m also her hairstylist. We were greeted at the door, (didn’t have an appointment) and they took her to a chair with large mirror, like at a salon. The ladies have so much knowledge, and they truly care. She purchased 3 wigs, and they’re beautiful!!! I cannot say enough how professional, fun and caring the ladies are!!! You could even wear your hair totally back, and you cannot tell its a wig! Are they expensive? Not for what you get. The cheaper places don’t have a variety of colors, especially blondes. They do. Love, love, love them!!!

If you want quality this is your place to buy hair pieces, falls, and wigs. They have a variety and the owner is amazing. She’s friendly and very helpful. The only drawback is some of the pieces are expensive but I do think they are worth it.

The owner and the young lady there are really nice and helpful. They are knowledgable and the products they use are very good in quality. I would highly recommend them. Pricing was competitive went to a place in the city and it was about the same maybe even a little less.

Went here yesterday. Lady who helped me was pretty nice. Owner didnt even really look at me. Kind of foo foo if you ask me. The cheapest wig is over $ 175. So… I left. Most other wig places carry wigs from $ 50 and up. Guess that is the only clientele they wanted so I said Bye Bye!
Great selection though. Very un-​child friendly. Good thing I left my cutie with the hubby in the car!

Our dear friend has recently been diagnosed with Lung Cancer. To be proactive she decided to get a wig prior to starting chemo treatments. One of our girlfriends found out which date & organized a Girl’s day out. She than contacted Valley Rags & Wigs to see if it would be okay with them, if we brought food & drinks which was no problem.
We showed up in a force of 10 & took over the store. What could have been a very emotional day wound up being an enjoyable experience. Largely due to the professionals working at VRW.
With so many wigs to choose from, everyone picked out a wig for our friend to try on, the ladies at VRW never once gave us grief about all the wigs we wanted to see her try. But the winning wig was the very FIRST wig selected by Leslie at VRW. They asked all the right questions early on to determine which wig would fit her lifestyle & needs.
A great part of getting through these tough times is mind over matter. For us women, we associate how we feel by how we look… she’ll be able to enjoy what she sees in the reflection of a mirror with her beautiful wig. More than likely, our girlfriend will need more than one wig, so when she’s ready to shop for the other, we know she’ll be a returning client of VRW.
We can’t thank VRW enough for the support and generosity they shared with us. This will be «A day to be remembered» by all of us.

Went with my dear friend today… she is emerging from a year-​long battle and wanted to look like her old self again… so honored she took me as her consultant.
Staff could not have been friendlier, or more helpful.
They had several contenders to try on in several basic types. Great selection!
We narrowed it down in time… and came up with something that was beautifully natural looking… that she would have been happy to walk out of a hair salon with.
It was a synthetic with a natural looking part. Care is going to be so easy… and the price was really quite reasonable.
The staff even cut a bang… which made it perfect for her. She literally walked out and we went to lunch… for real!
I swear it took 20 years off! She was thrilled to blend into the world again, and felt so pretty!

Re: My wig return… the following story
after purchasing a wig and wearing it briefly I found abnormal wear. The clips that I paid for to be sewn in by the staff did not stay attached and I had to redo them myself. I waited over three months for the wig to be sent to the vendor and finally returned to me. Meanwhile I had to purchase another wig to wear. Here is my response, following my initial experience with this store and owner. Janie here, is again diverting the true issue of poor quality and claiming «we noticed the wig had been worked on other then here». Yes, true, I had to re-​sew the clips on the wig myself, also, I used the conditioner the owner provided me with to try to recondition the wig. Poor excuse and another tactic to NOT deal with the true issue. The owner throws perverbial grenades, finds frivilous excuses and fictitious loop holes to avoid an honest business like and professional solution for the customer…
DO NOT SHOP HERE!
This establishment may be a quick fix for a cancer patient but the quality and professionalism is severely lacking. This is a case for small claims. Watch for this story on channel 5 consumer reports
After three months, and additional cost to me, the connsumer, this was the response from this owner
Dear client,
We cannot provide a refund because the wig left our shop in perfect condition. There is no guarantee on the wigs because a customer can take it home and damage it on any occasion. When you called us with a problem we offered to wash and style your wig for free to make it look good again. Instead, we ended up giving you a bottle of conditioner because you were unable to leave it so we explained how to use it. We then received another call stating you were unable to make it look good again after washing it. We then offered again to wash and deep condition the wig at our shop. You did agree and dropped it off. We requested that you come to the shop to take a look at the wig after we re-​styled it for you. You refused to come. When we received the wig we noticed it had been worked on somewhere other than here. It has been altered and clips were added. We then sent the wig to the manufacturer for analyzing and they said they have a new policy where they will not to be involed. After hearing this over the phone we asked them to send it back. We received the wig today via ups and we will be sending it to you this afternoon through usps.

My significant other has cancer again and is losing her hair — again. This happened 8 years ago and we purchased an excellent wig from Valley Rags & Wigs. We went in today and were very happily greeted by the owners sister. This appears to be a family business, which I try to support whenever possible.
Both times the staff were very kind and patient. We tried on about a dozen different wigs. Each time, the staff person would explain the care requirements, review styling options, and take time to style each wig on her head so that my better half could find the perfect look. We ended up ordering a specific style and color combination that fits perfect and looks great. They never rushed us and probably took about 90 minutes with us to review the differnt options and try several different style and color compbinations. We never felt rushed or had any pressure put on us even though there were other people coming in the store.
We were able to find two different looks, one more casual and the other a formal look that were completely natural looking and brightened her entire outlook on the prospect of not having hair again.
We have been to other places that were nothing compared to Valley Rags & Wigs. After our visit today and the 2 wonderful wigs that we purchased, her whole attitude changed and I’m extremely grateful to this company for making her improving her mood. These wigs almost look better than her real hair which makes a huge difference. Their prices were reasonable and they even offer cleaning service for a small fee.
I would highly recommend this business over any others in the area. Their prices are fair and their staff were curteous, knowledgeable, and kind.

This place is great! I had to write a review for this place because I was so grateful of their wonderful customer service. I have bought extenstions there before but recently i went in the day before my bridal shower looking to get new ones that were fresh and matched my hair color better. They had the correct color but did not have the sewn in clip in’s attached in order to wear them. The owner offered to personally sew them in for me by the end of the day, no charge, so I could have them for my shower. What a sweetheart. I dont know how anyone could have anything bad to say about this place. They treat every customer amazing… whether it be if you are buying a wig for chemo treatment, getting one for a halloween costume, or simply wishing you had more hair like me. Highly recommend this place!

I had a great experience in this shop! The shop is small, but the selection is wonderful and the staff is friendly & helpful. I was buying a wig just for a Halloween costume, but they treated me like I was a valued client who was in to buy high-​end wig. I really appreciated that!

My friend and I went here today to find a wig for her before she starts chemo, and she had a great experience. They spent a lot of time helping pick out the right wig, educating her on the different options and use and maintenance specifics. She was even able to find one they had in stock and take it home the same day. Would def. recommend this place.
