This is pretty standard for The Habit chain. Food is decent, service is above average, but never do you leave saying wow nor is it cheap.

Ok, only giving 3 stars as it seems to be alot if downers in restaurants & fast food here. Guess it’s our luck. Hubby & I out shopping and I had been saying for awhile let’s check it out. We did finally. We will not ever again. He got the cheeseburger-dry and not char; I got the veggie-it was good but not char;tasted more like Garden burger fried. His fried were like airport fried and my onion rings were from the grocery store frozen. So good not good. However, customer service was great.

I’ve come here three times for a quick fast lunch and they are always busy yet their charburger is the best!

It took seriously like 15 minutes for them to take my order and they were getting everyones order wrong. I would defiantly not be going back.

Okay, Habit may not match up toe to toe with In N Out, but their ‘others’ are pretty good; at least the Tri-tip sandwich that I ordered. I came here after work during off-lunch hours so there were plenty of seat. I ordered a Tri-tip sandwich with BBQ sauce, coupled with an order of their Onion Rings. The Tri-tip sandwich was delicious. They cooked the tri-tip just right which could be difficult for some restaurants to achieve as the piece of meat is not too thick.(They always over cook the beef) Habit’s onion rings is always a delight; real thick, sweet onions that are properly breaded and cooked to perfection. Overall, a good lunch here at The Habit. I would definitely try out the ‘others’. That tuna sandwich sure does sound delicious. I would also like to add that their malt shakes are pretty awesome as well.

The single patty burger with cheese was on the dry side for me. Same for my friend too. I did enjoy the char on the burger and the potato sweet fries too. Otherwise, it’s good but not good enough to come salivating for another round. Happy that they have outdoor seating with big umbrellas. I was able to bring the pooch with us to dine outside.

Great place for a quick bite with friends. The french fries(440 calories) are great! Char burger(470 calories) is as expected, but you can’t compare it to east coast equivalents. Burger and fries run just shy of $ 6. It can get crowded during lunch, so try to come in during off peak.

My wife and I have a habit of coming here at least two times a month, because we like it so much. I ‘m happy I found a good place to eat that my picky eating wife likes too.

Good burgers, kinda hard to handle so they get messy so grab plenty of napkins, small location with limited seating, be ready for a line out the door and a wait for your food to be cooked, worth a stop in.

They seem to always only have 1 register open with a line out the door… that is frustrating. However, the service is good and the food is typical Habit food. Update the service has improved!

My significant other and I were shopping at Stoneridge mall and decided to stop here for a burger place to eat. So we went in here and dined in. The place looked very busy the time we were there but were able to manage to get a spot to sit in. We ordered our food and within 10 minutes of paying our order was ready. The service model works like this. You pay for your food and then they give you some kind of weird pager device. When your food is ready, the device blinks and vibrates. Good thing we got there when we did to find somewhere to sit too. If we would have been there 5 to 10 minutes later it would have been a wait to sit or would have to order it to go. That’s how busy it was. Food quality: Great, both of our burgers were wonderful, but when he ordered the mushroom burger, there were only 3 mushrooms on the burger and there needs to be a little more on the burger for the price that is paid. Overall, not a bad place to stop at if you’re in the area to shop or visiting family but the place won’t become a habit of ours as there are plenty of other places for us to go in Hayward for food like this.

The only thing special about this establishment in particular, is the exceptional customer service. A 3 because the burger tasted like an old Costco burger. A 3 because I paid $ 14 for a burger and a very small salad. A 3 because there were three mushrooms on my mushroom char burger. I will definitely not return. I do not see myself forming a habit here!

My boyfriend & I needed a quick place to eat between gym time and our movie showing. He suggested In-N-Out. Don’t get me wrong; I freaking love In-N-Out, but we had it not too long ago, so I wanted to eat something I haven’t had in awhile. Last time I had The Habit was when I was in college 2.5 years ago. I remember it being a bit underwhelming so naturally my expectations weren’t too high. We came on a Tuesday evening at around 6:45pm. It wasn’t crowded and our food came out in ~7 minutes. We split 2 items and 1 side and it was the perfect amount of food. –Teriyaki Charburger w/cheese($ 3.25+$.50/510 calories): This burger was juicy and full of flavorful. –Santa Barbara Style Charburger w/cheese($ 5.95+$.50/930 calories): I loved this so much and would definitely recommend it. The buttery toasted bread and avocado were absolutely delicious! –Onion Rings($ 1.95÷500 calories): These are some of the best onion rings I’ve ever had! It’s a perfect amount of batter. The dipping ranch pairs so well with it. They could use just a little bit less salt, but still yummy! And to think I was originally going to order a salad… I’m sure they’re good, but carbs are just more satisfying! Besides, their food didn’t seem too greasy or unhealthy. I left feeling extremely pleased. Plus, the prices are awesome. I am adding The Habit Burger to my go-to burger spots.

Came here the night of my birthday feeling like a big spender. Ordered the jalapeño burger and it was delish. Not as spicy as I want it to be but it sure delivered. The foods always cooked to order so it’s always hot and fresh when your buzzers rings. It can get packed during lunchtime so come early or you’ll be waiting for a seat. They have outside seating, but when it’s this cold you’d rather enjoy your food inside the warm seating. So when ever I crave for burger outside the norm I usually get, this is my go to place.

Love the food but had to make it to go as all the indoor seats were taken. I have to remember not to expect to eat in on a cold weekend day.

I’ve been here twice, and I was happier with my order the first time around. The first time, I ordered the Albacore Tuna Filet. The tuna was lightly cooked and fit in well with the lettuce, tomatoes, and tartar sauce. The sandwich was juicy! I also had a side of onion rings, which were above average. The sandwich + side of onion rings was a lot for me! The second time I came here, I brought my husband. He ordered the Mushroom Charburger and I ordered the Santa Barbara Style. We both agreed that my burger was clearly the winner of the two choices. His Mushroom Charburger barely contained any mushrooms, and my order was also incorrect. They forgot to include the avocado in my burger, so I gave it back. Fortunately, they corrected the order and placed a whole avocado into my burger, even though it was a bit sloppily done.

I think that this is my favorite burger place! I’ve been to different locations and they’re all very consistent. I always get the Mushroom Char Burger with regular fries, ranch, and love how they have jalapeños! It’s so delicious. My boyfriend gets the tri tip sandwich on grilled sour dough with BBQ sauce. I would recommend this sandwich as well because their tri tip is tender, tasty, and they give you a lot of meat. They have different burgers as well and they either have fries, sweet potato fries, tempura green beans, and onion rings! They also have milk shakes but I’m not a fan of milkshakes. Minus 1 star because they have limited seating and its usually very busy. The place is smaller than your usual In N out Burger place. That goes for all their locations.

After driving by this place time and time again, I decided, I mean my body decided that it wanted to consume a burger. And after seeing all of you Unilocalers checking in I decided to give it a go. I ordered a charburger with mushrooms and your standard french fries. The fries were hot and fresh, the burger was delicious, and the atmosphere is cool. I liked it. They have a great variety of condiments and it was constantly being kept clean. Give them a try and see if you agree!
