Quality Inn

While traveling, we stopped here because we had run out of steam in terms of driving. I used a booking site to find a hotel accepting pets, and this was our only option. Had I known what the property was like, I would have pressed on to another exit for a better option.
Quality Inn is obviously a budget motel and I did not go into the booking expecting fluff. I wanted a bed to rest in and a place to feel secure. This property turned out to be the most neglected, run-​down hotel or motel I have ever been in.
We paid about a hundred dollars for a room. For that, I would expect at least… I don’t know, proper lighting? The room was so shabby and out of date. The beds were acceptable, though I immediately did an in depth bedbug check after seeing the condition and debating a continuation of the stay. The computers were not working at the desk. A door to access the parking lot was not working. The snack machine was not working. The hall lights were not working. The hall had zero heat, which was amplified by the terrific cold snap we arrived in.
The advert for the hotel proclaims proudly that rooms have jetted tubs. I personally didn’t care about that because I feel a little ick about using a tub in hotel rooms in general, but the claim is an absolute lie. I didn’t use the shower at all because I just couldn’t face the squick factor.
The staff were nice people trying their best to accomodate in a cruddy situation. I feel bad for them for having to work there, because clearly the owner doesn’t even remotely care about the property. This is a place to avoid at all costs. Other hotels are in the area and may give you better value for your money.

Watch out for the «Safe w/​ltd Warranty» charge on your bill. Rented 2 rooms, both did not have a safe, but still got changed per day. I loved the performance of the front desk clerk, «oh, that should not be there». Sat in the lobby during the checkout rush and heard the same line 3 times in a row.
Rooms was not dirty, but was not clean either. Breakfast was not bad, but was not good either. Wifi worked, sometimes. Would rate 2 star if they did not try the old safe change gambit. Next time I will go somewhere else or just drive to the next exit.

I had car issues while driving south with my son and my dog and was forced to stay at a hotel for the night.
I was dropped off by the staff of a local dealership… however, if I had my car, I wouldnt have stayed.
The lady behind the desk was friendly and asked if I had any type of discount I could use since it was obvious I didn’t want to pay the $ 103 for the night with military discount. She applied some coupon and the total still came to just under $ 75 including a $ 20 per night pet fee. This amount is a bit steep, as there is no elevator and no rooms available on the first floor, and no one to help you carry bags up the stairs.
The room was filthy with food crumbs all over the floor, trash, holes in the walls, stains on the linens and upholstery and mold in the bathroom. The air conditioning unit smelled and second floor window could be easily opened yet there was no screen… good thing my son is 5 and not younger, dumber or more rambunctious. The wifi is non-​existent, the tv had lines from poor wiring which was hanging out of the wall. A few lights didnt work and the door was so flimsy I didnt feel as though my room was secure at all. There was a skunk in the pool area when we were there and the staff wasnt concerned about it at all.
Even though we slept with our own sheets, blankets and pillows, my son and my dog woke up with red bumps all over their body. I was fortunate enough to be wearing bug spray.
Its a total dump. Avoid at all costs.

We stayed here overnight on our way down south. I was not expecting much, but even with low expectations I was disappointed. The room was clean-​ish; I noticed some hair in the bathroom just when we entered the room. I think the price was too high for the overall quality of the facility. At about $ 90 I would expect that the bathroom sink tap is actually fastened to the sink, the shower curtain rail fully attached to the wall, and the air conditioner actually cooling the air quicker than it did. I was also taken aback by the high fee for a pet. The breakfast provided was nothing more or less than what can be expected from a hotel chain in this price range, however the room in which it is served is quite undersized for the amount of rooms they have. I will try a different chain on the way back.

This place is a complete disaster. The chain «Quality Inn» really let’s you down with the actual quality. The other reviews really appear to do justice in explaining how bad this place is but I’ll review it briefly. First thing is first; the only decent thing about this place was the bed I slept in was comfortable. That’s it. What’s wrong with the place? Dated and completely worn carpet in and out of the rooms, dated curtains, dated picture art, no fridge, no microwave, TV signal was brutal with minimal channels, absolutely horrible internet connection (WiFi and on the Lobby desktop), and no consistent desk worker. In one sentence: do not waste your money at this dump.

We stayed overnight 11/​30/​2013 on our trip home from Florida. I searched and booked the room in advance. Front desk staff were friendly and efficient and check in/​check out was flawless. We had a King Suite with Jacuzzi and the room was spacious and clean. My only complaints were how loud the doors were when closing and our room was next to the stairs so anytime someone walked them it sounded like a herd of elephants.

Every hotel in the area was booked so we were stuck here. I see there are 4 filtered Unilocal reviews so nothing shows up. Hopefully my review will.
The room was shockingly expensive– $ 100 – shocking because the furnishings are badly worn and the place really needs an update, and it’s kind of in the middle of nowhere in Virginia (a dump in a major city for $ 100 might be more understandable.)They didn’t have a room ready for us by 3pm so we had to change for a wedding in the (dirty) lobby bathroom, which is unbelievable. Checking into a room at 3pm is hardly early. Further, there is a small sign at the desk saying there is a removable safe use fee. We didn’t use our safe so I requested that the $ 2 was taken off, to which the clerk said it wouldn’t be a problem. The charge still appears on my card. The free breakfast basically ran out of food and there were no tables so we had to eat on the floor of the lobby.
We probably spent a total of 8 hours here for a quick sleep before getting back on the road. But won’t be back.

Poor quality at best.

TOTAL YUCK! We were in Virginia when the huge thunderstorm hit and most of the state was out of power. All hotels were full, except this one. There was a reason for that. This hotel went the CHEAPEST route on everything possible. Pillows, bedding, mattress, complimentary soap, furniture, even the continental breakfast had watered down juice! We tried to call the front desk to ask for more pillows and they didnt answer the phone! I even tried to call from my cell phone (outside line) and they still didnt answer. The towels are thin as paper and scratchy. An Indian housekeeper opened my hotel room door at 8:30 AM without knocking! I slammed the door in his face as you can imagine. This hotel is disgusting. Our Non-​Smoking room smelled like a moldy ashtray. The next morning I complained to the girl at the front desk and was told the manager is not even onsite, but she would pass on my complaint and the manager would call me the next day. I never received a call, which leads me to believe the «manager» is fully aware of the conditions, and dosent care. Like I said, there was a reason this hotel had availability when every other hotel we called was full. Also, they charged us $ 120 a nite, when the nicer Best Western was $ 70. From what I have learned of their business ethic, it wouldnt surprise me at all if the price was inflated to take advantage of people that were escaping their hot houses due to no electricity, as this was one of the few places that did at the time. Never ever again. Stay far away if you value your privacy or your dollar.
