I had made an appointment for a haircut recently and called them to reschedule it, the lady attending the phone informed me that she can only move it by 30 minutes. I told her i was in a minor car crash and wasn’t sure if I will make it, to which her response was we will have to charge you 50% of the appointment since it is our cancellation policy. I would have expected some concern over the fact that it was an unusual circumstance due to which I had to cancel.

My appointment recently was with Sarah Rupley. I was in need of a trim to clean up my ends and I was hoping to tone down some highlight growth that had become light/​brassy from the sun.
One of my main hopes was to find a high-​quality salon as well as a professional stylist all while keeping the price range within reason. I had been to a few other salons in the area, and while I was taken great care of at those salons, my bills ended up being way beyond my personal price range. It is painful to think of how much money I had been spending at some of the other salons in Tri-​Valley.
For many years I had been getting high-​lights put in time and time again; keeping up with my roots, etc. Not only was it a lot of color treatments on my hair, but it required constant upkeep. I decided a few months ago that I really wanted to embrace more natural color. I wanted to restore the hair color I was born with and embrace my brunette locks.
So with that, I said goodbye to highlights and started getting toners to fade out the highlights while still maintaining pretty dimension that was rich, warm and translucent. When I went in to see Sarah, I explained how I wanted to match the body of my hair to my roots. Since I have naturally curly hair, I emphasized how I really didn’t want a «flat» color with no dimension. We talked a bit about semi/​demi/​permanent hair colors, and Sarah helped me understand better what each of the hair-​dying processes are best for. I took her advice and we went with a demi-​permanent hair color that would deliver a beautiful, translucent, shiny end result.
The process was so quick– probably the fastest hair treatment I have ever had! No sitting in the chair for hours and hours. She rinsed the hair color out and we got right to the hair cut. I really appreciated how she really took the time to listen to me and made sure she understood what I was requesting. She made me feel very heard and respected as a client. Some hairdressers that I have seen in the past didn’t really take the time to talk with me about my goals, so I appreciated not feeling rushed or ignored. I also really liked that she gave me some hair care tips and some product ideas that I could use at home to better protect my hair. We discussed sulfate-​free shampoo/​conditioners and products to use before heat treatments (blow drying, etc.). I have never had a stylist offer advice like that, so again, I was really impressed and felt like she cared.
The cut and color ended up being beautiful; everything I could have hoped for. I haven’t washed my hair yet, but I can feel how healthy my ends are now and that means my curls are going to come to life again! The color is fantastic as well. I love how it has natural red hues and very warm tones that compliment my skin tone. I don’t feel washed out or «ashy» with this color, and now my ends match my roots. Lovely.
The best part? Well, aside from amazing service??? My bill was below $ 100, and I cannot even explain how nice that was! I received such great service and I didn’t have to take a hard hit to my wallet. I was so so so happy with the price! There is no way I will go to another salon now.
Also, this salon carries WONDERFUL hair products such as an extensive Bumble & Bumble line. I love Bumble & Bumble products that are geared toward curly hair. I didn’t buy any products just yet, but once I need to re-​stock my supply at home, I now know where to come.

This review is long overdue. I’ve been coming to MBS&S since I made a resolution back in 2013 to take care of my skin and hair. This salon & spa is great as it’s a one stop shop. I’ve never looked back and always make next appt. Something to look forward to.
For facials, Monica S. is my girl. She is gentle and listens to my needs. Depending on the time of year, my skin needs different things. She never tries to up sell me in anything and always puts me at ease. I’m always relaxed and glowing when I am done. My Peel is my favorite to tame those age spots and wrinkles that are looming.
For my haircuts, I have been seeing Kaite Alves for almost 2 years. I always book my next appointment before I leave a she gets booked, especially Sat. Unfortunately she has moved on to greener pastures (literally). I was told she found a salon closer to home in Brentwood. Miss you Kaite!
Fortunately, Kaite didn’tleave me hanging out to dry. She recommended Brianna H.
I had my 1^st haircut with Briana H. last week and she was just as amazing. Brianna really listens and didn’t give me a drastic haircut or go scissor happy. It was just right and it’s so easy to manage.
The service is always consistent at MBS & S. The front desk staff always call a few days before to confirm my appointments and make you feel welcomed as soon as you walk in.
Can’t wait for my next appt… next weekend!

Shannon McBee is the only person I trust with my brows, I will drive 35 miles to see her to get that symmetrical look with my unruly brows!

I made another trip to Michael Brando’s spa! I love love LOVE this place! I feel so pampered when I come here! First my thorough and luscious facial by Shannon, who had worked on me before. Then my marvelous Swedish massage by the wonderful Rebecca! Both ladies made me feel great! Not only the services, but their personalities! I will be back!

I’ve been going to Michael Brandon’s for the past handful of months and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve had two different stylists here, Jenna and Sarah, and they were both really great. I originally heard about this place from a lady in my book club who had a short pixie cut that looked really fun. At the time, I also had short hair and was having problems finding someone who knew how to cut and style short hair without being exorbitant in price. Michael Brandon’s definitely fits this bill. Even though I am currently growing my hair out and no longer need a fun stylist for short, spunky hair, I still love coming here. The ladies are all very easy to talk to and the salon always looks wonderful.

I got my hair cut. I was rushed out if the door in 15 minutes. Not worth it, that should tell you what they did to me. I told them I would like to explore a new style. They essentially put a «pot» in my head and cut around with scissors. Use your imagination. I can’t believe it. Never again.

My daughter had her hair done. Told the girl it wasn’t right before she left her chair. The girl told her give it a few hours and if she still didn’t like it come back and she will fix it. Came back and the girl told her she would try to fit her in next week. Rude!
Thankfully an amazing manager overhead this and scheduled her hair to be fixed the next day by another technician! Even made the other one apologize! Kudos to fixing this!

These folks are the nicest, most talented team around! I get Brazilian keratin treatments and color here and Michael (the owner) does amazing work. Will keep coming back!

I «cheated» on my usual salon as I wanted to perm my hair and their perm expert is booked for months. I made an appoint at MB Salon with Nadine and I am thrilled with the results! Nadine is wonderful and fun to talk with. I will continue with my usual salon/​stylist for cuts, but will definitely be returning to Nadine for future perms!

I went in to Brandon Michael’s for a haircut, and from what I assumed, only Monica was available at the time of my appointment. I was indifferent about who it was since I have never gotten my hair cut there before, but I asked the clerk over the phone if the hairstylist knew how to cut long hair with long layers, and she reassured me by saying «She has long, beautiful, blonde hair» I’m not sure what that was supposed to mean, but I assumed it meant that she knew how to cut long hair.
When I went in, everyone was very friendly and the environment was professional. When I was called up for my turn, Monica was very social & friendly and I got the impression that she was cutting my hair very well.
I left the salon feeling very confident in my haircut because it was blow dried nicely and gave the illusion of a good haircut, although it was pricey ($ 53).
However, the reason why I am giving this a 2-​star rating is because when I got home, I realized that my hair was actually very poorly cut & it almost seemed as though she butchered it. But the extra star is for how they handled the situation after i reported my poorly cut ends.
I did receive a call directly from the store to help fix my ends, but I don’t think I have enough faith in the store to fix it properly.

Great place! Really nice décor and set up… Everyone is very welcoming and helpful… Sarah Z is great with color! Actually she only does color. She put low lights back into my platinum hair, which is very hard to do! They don’t do nails there so you aren’t inhaling all those fumes while you’re getting your hair done. Very well ventilated which is a bonus for me!

Valentine’s Day and for the first time in awhile, my girlfriends and I were single. So we decided to have a spa day. One of them recommended Michael Brandon, so we went here.
The spa has a separate entrance from the salon, which is around the corner to the right. My friends and I were greeted warmly and escorted to the waiting area. Because my friends had earlier appointments, the hostess said I can wait in the back room, which is darker and quieter. The back room has a sauna, so I thought that was cool.
My masseuse was Rebecca and she was fantastic! I had ordered the custom massage, because according to their website, is a mix of Swedish and deep tissue. Rebecca’s method is unique because she starts off with her clients lying on their back. Usually you get the neck massage in the end, but I’m so glad it was first. I never felt relaxed with the neck massage at the end.
I hold a lot of tension in my back, and she felt it. I could tell she focused on the knots on the left side because she took more time there than the right side. I’m not a fan when each side gets equal treatment, because I hold tension in different areas. I was so relaxed after my session with her, so I highly recommend her!
Because I was going out with my friends, I had makeup on. Because of that, she said she wouldn’t massage my face and head (so my hair won’t get oily). The next time I see her, I’m going to have a fresh face because I’m pretty sure that her face and head massage is awesome!

Been here twice now so I think it’s time to write my review.
First trip was an emergency «dear god this blonde box of dye turned my hair yellow and I’m a bridesmaid in 24 hours please save me» trip. Took me on no notice just hours before I had to board the plane. Appreciate that. Stylist Taylor was very nice and worked VERY hard to fix my hair. The blondes out there can understand. Fixing the gold tint. Bleaching. Breaking the base. Etc etc. it was a long process and she put up a fight. And won! I was so so grateful. My hair looked exactly how I wanted in photos!
Only con on this appt was the cost for me. For highlights I was quoted 80 – 130. When all was said and done it was upwards of 200 (I forget the exact amount). That’s more money then I’m comfortable paying, but Taylor really had run so many processes to fix my hair and they took me on no notice so I just ran with it.
4 weeks later roots grow in. This is where I normally would just Box dye again but decided to call them instead. They indicate there’s in between coloring appointments where just roots are touched up and it’s relatively cheap, under 50 bucks I think she said. I booked.
The stylist was nice, and I forget her name. And she did the break the base routine. But she also indicated she wanted to do a few foils to highlight since break the base won’t match perfectly. I agreed, although I wasn’t really into it because I wanted to stay cheap. But that’s on me. The color turned out okay. It’s sufficient for in between appointments to break the base, not a perfect match but gets you through. Not sure the highlights made a huge difference.
Again the only con on this appointment for me was the price. Checkout time came and this in between coloring ran me 80 or so dollars when I expected under 50.
Here’s the thing. I think their prices are probably competitive with other skilled, professional salons. However, for me, that’s ultimately more money then I care to spent on my hair in a months time. So I’ll work on finding a balance for my hair routine.
Overall the salon is a very nice atmosphere, all the staff has been kind and skilled.

I’m updating my review to add Rachel to the 5 star rating. She is an absolute pleasure to work with and her customer service is great. She helped me with some scheduling and I asked for a call back to confirm and she did it very promptly and with a smile in her voice. She is a great part of the Michael Brandon Salon & Spa team. Thank you Rachel!
And, Kaite is still great!

If I could give this Salon negative stars I would. My advice would be definitely do not book with Makayla or Michael unless you want your locks chopped and slaughtered!
I had an awful experience at this salon. I didn’t want to write a bad review but since it is still effecting me over 6 months later and I still feel upset about it, I feel it’s necessary. Makayla Reitsma-​Tiapon butchered my hair. I went in with very long hair, I wanted to take 3.5 inches off which would’ve brought it up to my bra line. I ended up with shoulder length, over textured hair. I called the salon and asked that Michael help me fix it himself. 1^st, he gave me a mullet and what I ended up with is an ear length bob in the end! Awful for my hair texture and I will have to deal with growing it out for years! I went in and his recovery effort was even worse! and he pressured me into buying a product for his time. Please see the pictures attached, it was a horrible experience. The only thing that would make me feel better is if the salon would provide me with a 2 year supply of Viviscal.

I always enjoy coming back! Getting your hair done is a complete mood changer and over all, makes you feel better. Here at Michael Brandon, I always leave feeling great because my hair looks great! Everyone here is so nice! They greet you as soon as you set foot in the door. Krysta is such a sweetheart! It’s like we’ve known each other for a while! Always a satisfied customer!

So I found this place on Unilocal hoping this would be the last time looking for a good salon. I gotta say I am really happy with this place! The setting inside the salon is very pretty, I love it. I’ve never seen a big salon like this. It’s really relaxing. The receptionists are very kind from the time you walk in and the time you pay.
Kylee did an amazing job with my hair! I’ve lived here in Dublin for 2 years now and I think I finally found someone to come to from now on. She’s super sweet and she listens to what you want. She’s also good at giving tips too. Just little things on how to maintain your hair color and how to curl. She’s also very easy to talk to. Not like those forced awkward conversations. Kylee also did great job on my cut! I’ll be going back to her for sure!
*If it’s your first time here I’d make a consultation just to meet her or even any of the other hair stylist just so they know what kind of hair you have and what you want to do exactly

My first time experience at this place was great! So I heard about this place from my friend since she would always go here and I seen it around since I work by their establishment.
I called and booked an appointment for my consultation with Krysta. My first impression was that she was really nice and loved how she really helped me pick what was best for my really damaged hair. So I went and booked my appointment. It was really fast and easy!
So finally the day of my appointment came, she was ready to go at 9 AM! She was really nice and loved how she really tried to entertain her costumer. She was really excited to fix my hair which made me even more excited! And my expectations were met! I was not disappointed at all. She made sure to check up on me after I was getting blow dried and curled by one of their assistants since she had another costumer. She made sure that everything was done right and it made me feel more secure about how it’s going to look.
Overall, I had a really wonderful experience. The price was reasonable. It’s actually really good. Not overpriced at all. I recommend this place and specially Krysta! =)
