Our staff are extremely knowledgeable and able to help you find just what it is you are looking for.

History

Established in 1989.

Lighthouse was started in 1989 by the Hill and Crider family. Both wives had children who were older and in school and they felt the bookstore would be a great ministry for the two of them. Over the years God continued to amaze both families as the bookstore grew and doors continued to be open for expansion. Around 2004 the Crider’s sold their share of the store to Ken and Sandy Hill’s son Brian and his wife Monica. In 2007 Ken was killed in a plane accident in Livermore, CA but Brian and his mom Sandy continue the ministry in Dublin. The name Lighthouse was chosen because that is what we believe God has called us to. To be His light in our community and to allow Him to shine through our lives and our business. In 2013 we will be opening Barnstormers Coffee inside Lighthouse. We hope Barnstormers will be a place where people can gather and study or just hang out and enjoy a great cup of coffee.

SO sad to call there today looking for a book and to find out that they are closing on the 27th of this month. There aren’t many Christian bookstores around anymore and this will leave a big void. This has been a great well stocked bookstore. The coffee area has been quite popular. Another unfortunate sign of these times.

One of the few positive gems in the Trivalley. Whenever I need inspirational and biblical literature, songs, media or gifts, I visit here after work. Christian bookstores are few and far in between Bay Area cities.
Online Christian bookstores may deliver faster, but sometimes customers need to see, touch and read an item before actually buying it. The store has a massive space and large selection of Christian films and music, bibles, devotionals, commentaries, inspirational cards and gifts, and children’s gifts.
I find all the inspirational and biblical items I need here. I like their clearance table as well.
Clerks are friendly, helpful and accommodating consistently. Quiet place to browse. Keep up the blessed work!

Wish they had more people on staff, especially when cash wrap line is long. Only two cashiers and nobody to ask questions on floor unless valerie or another cashier happens to step away.
I like how they carry the «basic fellowship series» feauturing Francis Chan who happens to be my cousin.
«Oh how i love Jesus because He first loved me» OMG this song keeps playing in the store.

I went here specifically for a coffee Togo but noticed it was a Christian bookstore. I had ordered a Vanilla Latte and it was good. The staff was nice and the place had free Wi-​Fi. They had Books, CDs, and movies and lot of seating. The coffee shop was in back and parking was in front. A nice and quiet place to read or relax with your paperback or newspaper.

So this is a great store if you’re looking to get some Christian items for a friend or family member. They said because it’s slow they don’t have everything in stock and do not have a date when it will be in stock so that it’s a bit of a letdown but it’s still a great store to stop by. I came here a few months ago for coffee with a friend and it is amazing. I typically use sugar in my coffee but the Sumatra blend they have, locally roasted in Livermore, just needs a bit of cream and it’s perfect. They can customize and engrave items if you choose to have that done. So basically if you’re in the area and need a Christian gift, need to hop on wifi, need to study or want some awesome coffee stop by this shop.

I visited the store on a Friday afternoon shortly after work and before youth group. I was very excited to come here since I knew a lot of the youth came to the store/​coffeeshop for small group. I was very disappointed. I walked in I wasn’t even welcomed. No one said hi. There was one worker there and he didn’t even bother to help me or others. I was frustrated just walking up and down the aisles. The selection wasn’t up to par. I wish the worker would have asked if I needed help. After about 30 minutes of walking around and getting frustrated I went up to the worker. I asked him some questions which he wasn’t even able to answer. He then proceeded to help me find a product and he told me they don’t make or sell items like that. He told me there was no such thing. Bull! I went on to Christian Bookstore the next day and found the product I asked about. He said no one makes Bibles like that. I had to go up to him to even ask for help. Very disappointed.
I’ll try one more time to go back. Maybe I’ll have a better experience. Well I pray to God I do.

Great selection of various books, bibles, and gifts. They do custom engraving on bibles, wood, and other items that look fabulous! I’ve bought bibles for school and various gifts for baptisms, first communions, and new homes. Service is always wonderful, too! I HIGHLY recommend this place. And their new location now has a coffee shop inside!

I was here on a Saturday. only 3 other people in the store.
I was standing at the engraving kiosk for about 10 minutes. 2 of the employees clearly saw me. (I’m tall and big, so I know THEY SAW ME… and one of the employees looked directly at me.)
Anyway, after standing there for 10 minutes, I told my sister to go to the front counter to see if we could get some help. The lady at the front tells her, «Oh, that person will be in at 4pm, you can come back then»
Oh, how nice of them to let us know! HOW HARD IS IT to go up to a customer and tell them, «we have no one here at this time, the engraver comes in at 4.»
Really, how hard? Not only that, I smile at everyone I meet. NONE OF THESE PEOPLE SMILED BACK.
Are they that miserable in their jobs that it has to show on their faces? They almost act as if they’re better than you…
Needless to say, I’m on a hunt for a better store such as this one. I’ll travel to the peninsula or San Francisco to do my shopping.
Unfortunately, I already spent $ 100.14 on Saturday.
2 stars for the adorable, kind, and patient girl working the engraving kiosk on Saturday 6÷7÷14. SHE was WONDERFUL!!! I wish I could give her 5 stars alone!

It was a nice surprise to find this store in the Amador Plaza Shopping Center. I love Christian stores such as this one.
Bibles, novelties, crosses, jewelry, books, CD’s, DVD’s, tshirts, engravables, keychains, birthday cards, etc. etc. etc.
Nice children’s section and a nice area in the back of the store with tshirts and posters.
I loved the peace and quiet of store.

I went to the Christian bookstore specifically trying to find Bibles for my children ages nine eight and six it wasn’t that the task was impossible but the prices were really high! I’m talking nearly thirty dollars for a child bible. But it all worked out and I was able to find three bibles that were age appropriate and pretty nice that were all 50% off YES! So although this was a nice store I just found it to be a bit pricey

I love this store! If you ever go in and need something they don’t have they will order it for you. I love the selection of books they have, especially for tween and teens. My daughter loves the Sophie book series that we found there. They also have a great selection of cards for many occasions.
When we go there I like to have some time to browse. They have a lot of really neat things, I do some spontaneous shopping when I am there, usually gifts for people.
When you check out, give them your telephone number and you will receive great coupons every few months.
I like to buy books and other things from Lighthouse because I like having a Christian supply store in the community. I want it to stay around!
Definitely stop in and browse, there is something for everyone. And the staff is super helpful. Not pushy at all but very friendly. I love the prayer wall. I have been praying for over a year now for a little boy whose card I got off the wall. I’ve also left a couple of prayers too.
an added bonus is that Target is right next door.

Ok, I am not the most religious person in the world. Went to a Christian school and certianly believe… but normally I get really irritated by what I’d have to call overly-​religious types. You know the ones right? Every other word is halleluliah: p That being said I needed some things for my neices christening and this place was GREAT. Yes, it’s all religious merchandise and I’m amazed that a store this size can stay in business but kuddos to them. They weren’t pushy and I easily found exactly what I was looking for… a copy of the Necronomicon: p Just kidding, but I did find some very nice gifts at really good pices.

I love this place. I just wish I could get out to it more these days. They have just about everything you need in a Christian Bookstore: tons and tons of books, plus music and movies, and lots of gifts. I also really like their clothing selection (which seems to have grown every time I go), because it’s not just corny shirts with «clever» sayings on them, but they have cool stuff from Not of This World like bags and hoodies and hats, etc.
Their ordering system is pretty convenient, and they can usually get whatever you need. Oh! And don’t freak if they ask for your phone number. They have a coupon list which is really great to be on because you learn about their sales and get coupons and stuff.
All this and the people are really nice! What more could you ask for?

I was in need of a few things Christian related and this was the closest store to me that had what I needed. It didn’t take me long to find what I needed. The store seemed to have a great selection of books, music and gifts. If I wasn’t in a rush, I would have liked to stay and look at everything they had.
The lady working that night was friendly. I will most likely return to browse the store.
