California Custom Carpets

I have used CA Custom Carpets a number of times for both personal property and some investment properties I have. I have referred them out numerous times. I have always worked with Steve. I was looking up their phone number today because I need carpet somewhere and decided to post a review.
This company has been AWESOME to work with. They are always professional and on-​time. I’m very happy with them and would highly recommend them to anyone.

We replaced all of our bedroom carpets through Steve with California Custom Carpets. The shop has a wide selection of flooring in all price ranges. Steve listened to all the features I was looking for and was very helpful with helping me through the process since I had never selected a carpet before. Our installers arrived on time, were friendly & professional, and did a beautiful job. We’ve had the carpets for months now and we’re so happy with the outcome!

We had a small carpet project in mind, and we had a pretty definite idea of what kind of carpet we wanted. Our California Custom Carpet Specialist was Doug Fields. Mr. Fields took us through the various grades and types of carpeting as well as educating us on the difference between carpet pads. Our project has just completed, and we are very satisfied with the quality of the carpet, the installation, and the service Mr. Fields provided. We came in under budget, and we love the carpet and how soft it feels. I can recommend Mr. Fields based on several factors:
1) He thinks outside the box. When we came in the second time to finally choose the carpet, I was not excited about the choices we had. I knew the carpet would be a good quality, but I also knew I would not love the pattern or the color. So I was ready to settle for less. Doug had thought outside the box by surprising us with several new samples from his company’s other design center. We loved one of the new patterns straight off, and the neutral brown color he chose was exactly what we were looking for.
2) Doug is very sincere and he took the time to explain about the different carpet types and also to warn us of common pitfalls in choosing the wrong pad. He was very patient and answered all of our questions. I appreciated the fact that he took what I said seriously, and didn’t treat me like the Little Woman who should be seen and not heard. For example, we had some issues with the installers which I shared with Doug. He could have brushed my comments off with the attitude that’s how things are. However, Doug listened to my concerns and didn’t make me feel that I was wasting his time. He took steps to immediately address the issues and also sent in Dave who fixes things post installation. I have to send a Big Thank you to Dave, who came the next day to fix and adjust some issues with the installation. He was very nice and had no problems with explaining the why on how carpet is laid down.
I understand comments made by other Unilocalers about the attitude of some of the other salesmen in this store. When I came in to return carpet samples, I asked the gentlemen there if Doug was in. After getting a cursory once over, the one salesman had to look where Doug’s desk is before he could tell me that he was not in. When I said I was returning carpet samples that were from the store’s display, he told me «How very thoughtful of you.» in a really condescending tone. So my advice is to seek out Mr. Fields, and you will not be sorry.

Didn’t even get to square one here… came in and browsed. The sales person was with another customer. I get it… what I don’t get is no acknowledgement, and being totally ignored. Fail.

My experience with these guys is terrible. I purchased a home in a new development where CCC was the vendor. They installed my laminate floor. About 4 months after move-​in, the floor began to lift. First, they had someone come by to take pictures (o.k. with me), but when it came to repairing the issue I had to follow-​up with my builder before I ever got another appointment. Now, I have some slight separation with one of the boards (a pretty easy repair, I think). Someone came in May to take pictures. I again had to follow-​up with the builder and explain that a repair appointment hadn’t been made yet. So, they finally called me and we scheduled an appt for June 24^th… only to have someone come out again to take pictures. Anyway… still waiting for the repair.

Update 05/​16/​2014 — Final update. Everything is now in and looks great, just how we originally envisioned. It took a while but Rebecca stepped in and took care of everything in the end.
Update 05/​13/​2014 — We finally pinned down a time to restall the shutter, we are excited about how the end result will turn out.
04/​08/​2014 — Rebecca called us after we posted the review, there seemed to be some disconnect between Rebecca and MaryAnn. Rebecca moved quickly to set up steps necessary to remediate the issue and has been very prompt and kept us frequently updated. We greatly appreciate it and look forward to seeing us achiving a final resolution soon!

I have a new business in Dublin teaching CPR and First-​aid classes and this company came out and installed the carpeting. There were a few problems, but they are very concerned about their work and they fixed the problems. It is nice that customer service is important. If you are looking for carpeting, I can recommend this company. They also have a very large showroom and nice sales people.

Great selection, great salesman. Not pushy, showed me exactly what I was looking for and make me a great deal. The installer did a phenomenal job also. I (thought) had an unusual installation situation, and the guy didn’t blink. My carpet looks awesome, and it didn’t cost an arm and a leg. I’d definitely recommend and use them again.

Five stars for Brian Rogan and California Custom Carpets.
We chose an «upgraded» carpet at our design center for our new house. I had picked out a color, but our design consultant suggested a color darker than the one I had originally chosen. The consultant said the darker carpet would coordinate better with our cabinet color and wall color. We figured she was the design professional, so we went with her suggestion.
Once the carpet was installed in our new home, we Hated it. It was much too dark. It did not at all match our wall color and ironically anywhere we have cabinets (kitchen and bath) we have either hardwood floors or tile floors, so the carpet didn’t need to match the cabinets!
We immediately knew we had to replace the carpet with the lighter color we had originally wanted.
I got in my car and literally just started driving down Dublin since I know Dublin has a lot of carpet stores, and the first one I came across was California Custom Carpets. They’re in an old building off Dublin Blvd, have been there 40 years.
I walked in on a late Saturday afternoon, Brian was working by himself and helped show me several different carpet samples. I had picked out a handful of sample boards to take home when I spied our original carpet in a back corner. I still liked the lighter color. I called my husband to come down, he still liked it too.
We schedule an estimate for the next day, Brian arrived on time, took the measurements, and said he’d call me the following day with a price. He called as he said & we placed our order. The carpet would be in before the end of the week.
In the end CCC installed our new carpets on a Saturday (a day they don’t normally install but Brian made an exception for us) and they look beautiful. We could not be happier with the service and price. The carpet installers even saved our «old» (new) carpet for us by room in the garage, and we were able to sell it all on Craigslist the next day.
Brian had told us to «go with your first instinct» when picking our carpet, and we sure wish we had listened to ourselves and gone with the lighter color the first time, but lesson learned. Thank you, Brian, for your great service!
