Cafe Tazza

It’s a goto place for all Indian snacks, bakery items sweets and Indian fast food. I will recommend this place to everyone as it’s worth trying and you won’t be disappointed.

Few days back we just checked in here for samosa chat… it was really awesome… and the price is also so reasonable…

Most horrible food I ever had. We ordered for 4 different dishes. Forget the taste, not even closer to what the actual dish is called.

I like them overall, though they have scope to improve.
1) Their veggie burger is the best I have ever had. The bun they use for their burger is unique and very Desi. I like it.
2)Their cakes are really really good.
3) They make really good Kulchas too
4) I will not recommend their noodles, or chilli chicken. did not like them at all
5) All south indian stuff is ok, not great but ok
6) Their sweets are also OK
I do go their now and then and will continue.

First time at Café Tazza. I had the Pani Puri, which came with the spicy mint water. Not an expert but I found the food pleasant, service helpful, and the prices reasonable. I had the Chai to drink. I had been exploring this café earlier in the day and brought up the free desert on my mobile app so when I went to use it, I couldn’t because you can only use it after 4 hours. The man at the counter let me have my desert anyway. I chose the Pistachio cake and it was quite good — fresh and the pistachio flavor was just right and the icing was to my liking, not too sweet or full of shortening. I will go back and I look forward to trying new dishes.

I had the Egg Puff, Lamb Roll, and Chicken Bun and they were all delicious. I don’t know if it’s authentic but it tasted good and plenty of filling.

It used to be good. But my experience recently has been bad. The chappathi that came with the Punjabi thali that I ordered was cleared several days old. It was really hard and crispy in some places. In another instance I bought idli and that too was hard. These two experiences have taught me a lesson never to go there again.

Very inconsistent. sometimes food is okay and sometimes it’s horrible., food doesn’t taste the same each time you order ., service is slow and customer service is not good at all.

Pretty good chaat and such. though I wouldn’t call it authentic Indian in taste. Paav bhaaji had cut peices of carrots in it (not mashed), the Sev Puri had so little curd that was almost not the Dahi Sev Puri I expected. Not a bad place to get snacks, but I’ve had better.
Also seating is fairly limited.

My wife and I like the Samosa’s here and she loves the pastries here. And recently they started making Ambur Biriyani and its pretty good too. Very Friendly people,

Usually my spot for when I’m craving some good ol chaat. Their vada pav is usually what I get and its worth the ten minutes I have to wait for it!

Decent food for good price, got chicken fried rice today which was ok & quantity was good too. Got the free pastry for check in which wasn’t great.
Did get plum cake, chicken manchuria in my earlier visits which were good.

I was mostly there for information to see what all the delicious baked goods are. At first, I was skeptic, I love indian food but the menu on the board and no descriptions was intimidating. I asked the girl at the counter but I couldn’t understand most of the ingredients she described. The other guy, a seasoned employee explained the differences between dosa (thin rice crêpe), parantha (stuffed bread) and the Cholle (fried bread made with garbanzo bean flour).
Naturally, I asked which was most popular and of course it was… I went with the fried! The bread was a lil greasy so I probably would try the dosa next time BUT the curried chick peas were amazing, I would just go back to eat that.
I was very impressed by the breads and cookies that are on racks in the back. The cakes sold by slice looked good but I don’t usually eat sweets. I did see samosas and bought 2 on a whim. They were really good especially the spicy mint sauce.
I took a menu to go to do some more research since it has descriptions and I will be back with friends for a pot luck taste testing adventure. Fun, new (to me), good eats!

I have a love hate relationship with Tazza. I’ve been going here for years mainly because its the only real chaat place nearby. I usually order the Sev Puri and Rava Masala Dosa, but have also tried a lot of their other items. The Sev Puri definitely satisfies that craving for street food, which is why I get it every time. The Rava Masala Dosa is also nice and crisp and I always enjoy sharing it with my mom. It does take a bit of time to make compared to the other dishes that they serve, so if you want to try this, be prepared to wait.
The problem with Tazza, is that they lack in consistency. I find myself loving a dish one day, being excited to try it again, and then being disappointing the next time I order it. This was a really big issue for me when they were more new, but the variability has tapered in recent visits. I am still apprehensive about ordering some of the following dishes because they are more prone to differences between visits.
The Chili Paneer is a part of their Indo-​Chinese menu and usually its pretty good and nice and spicy with that Chinese food in India taste. However, sometimes the paneer can end up being too chewy or the sauce too gummy. The Hakka Noodles (also on the Indo-​Chinese menu) are only alright. They have that Indo-​Chinese vibe again, but can lack flavor and just taste like just boiled linguine noodles. The Pani Puri doesn’t taste like the street version at all, but once-​again, its a hit or miss on how either the pani or the puri are on that day.
As for their pastry section, I am not a fan. While their desserts look very bight and appealing, the vibrancy does not translate into the taste. I used to get the little mousse cups because they look so cute, but stopped soon since I realized I was only getting them for that reason. I also tried some of their cakes, but I just don’t dig them.
Honestly, though I’m not in love with the food, I will keep going back to Tazza because it’s a nice comforting feeling (even taking into account the unpredictability of the food).

Have found their cakes very tasty and fresh. Went there to order 50 pieces of cake for a party next day and the person on the counter was kind enough to let us know that there will be a fresh batch available the next morning at 9 and we could get that instead.
We got a variety of cakes and it was delicious. Felt they had bigger boxes to pack. I was asked to get boxes myself if I would prefer bigger ones, so settled for what they had in the restaurant and ended up carrying 8 – 10 boxes to carry 50 pieces of assorted cake

Awesome food… but the service needs to be more improvised.

Tried their bakery section today. Ordered chicken pastry, egg pastry, and Black Forest cake.
All the dishes were bland and there was no flavor to it. The chicken pastry filling due to lack of spice and flavor smelled of chicken meat.
The Black Forest cake was disappointing. The cake again missed the punch and flavor it was soft but not moist. It wasn’t singing to your taste buds.
Not impressed. Only reason for 2 stars is quick service and fresh items at reasonable price. If you looking for flavor and taste there is nothing much to this place. Sorry

Café Tazza is an interesting hybrid bakery-​restaurant serving South Indian (Dosas) and Indo-​Chinese specialties. They don’t have that many pictures or descriptions of the menu items, so it can be a gamble on what to get.
I opted for the Chicken Manchurian with a side of white rice. It was pretty good — breaded chicken meat similar to sweet and sour chicken — but much spicier and with more tang.
Be sure to check in Unilocal to get a free pastry — you get to pick it. I went with Tiramisu, which was pretty good. Not much alcohol but balanced in sweetness with good cream to cake ratio.

Hands down the best Indian Restaurant in the bay for the money.
I have lived in the Tri-​Valley for a while now and I have frequented Café Tazza a lot. In recent times, Café Tazza has excelled all of my expectations for an Indian restaurant. This Café you will never find a time when someone is not ordering. If I were to dock 1 star it would be for some of the dishes that I could have cooked better. But majority of the dishes here I want to learn how to cook but its probably impossible.
First of all let me start off by saying that whatever you do order off the menu will be great, thats my guarantee (and, I don’t even own the place). Every dish is taste controlled and the chefs back there are consistently putting out good products.
We ordered a multitude of things so here it goes:
Appetizers:
Papdi chaat — the yogurt was not sour like other places. The papdi was fresh (not soggy). The garbanzo beans were cooked well. Def must order!
Sev puri — this dish was also good and very similar to papdi chaat. I would order this or papdi chaat if I were you for the family.
Dishes:
Gobi Manchurian — this was my first negative. I have cooked this better at home then here. I felt the sauce was a little too tangy and the dish was a little on the sour side. Bu the cauliflower was cooked right and the dish was still tasty.
Chili Paneer — exactly how I cook it at home with a extra bit of pizzaz. Really liked this dish as well and this is def must order.
Paneer Dosa — Ok let me just tell you I have been to a lot of Indian restaurants in my life and the paneer dosa here is something else. Its not only a def must get but its get the coveted «knock your socks off» dish. They fill it up with paneer, its been well cooked and the dosa is real crispy. My favorite dish is no longer the chola bhatura but it is indeed the paneer dosa.
Desert:
They have a variety of Indian deserts made just like how it is in India. Plus you have real vegetarian options such as eggless pastries. My entire family from cousins and aunts order their pastries from here. You definitely have to try them all to appreciate the level of dedication that this restaurant has put forth.

Swung by here after a dinner nearby at Paradise Biryani. Their dessert menu wasn’t impressive, so hubby suggested we do a pick up here as they never disappoint!
He ordered 4 pastries to go, including a chocolate mousse cup for me. They were all delicious! Fresh, moist and most importantly — not too sweet.
I believe they’re also vegan — a plus in case you entertain for those with dietary restrictions! Would highly recommend.
