All My Sons Moving & Storage of Columbus

We are very pleased with our experience with All My Sons Moving. We called them two days before we moved from Brooklyn, NY to Dublin, which was right before Christmas, not thinking anybody could accommodate us. Everybody on the phone was very nice and the communication with the office was perfect.
Our movers, Curtis and Mike were STRONG and treated our things with care. They were super personable and enthusiastic and made our move-​in fun despite the rain. They were punctual and real team players. They were professional and worked non-​stop. They put down carpet protection and didn’t cause any damage. I can’t say enough how easy Curtis and Mike made this for us. We all worked together and got it done in no time!
The rates were comparable with those we have paid before. Movers are always expensive, but worth every penny in my opinion. It’s hard work and if I were a mover I would probably charge double!!! It took Mike two minutes to move my filing cabinet that would have taken me an hour by myself pushing and heaving followed by a three hour nap. And that’s just one item out of a houseful of heavy furniture. So my back did the math and says WORTH IT!
We will definitely work with All My Sons for our next move and will recommend them to our friends and family. THANK YOU All My Sons for your good work and last-​minute moving help!

DO NOT use these guys! Moving is stressful enough, but when your movers call at 8am to say they aren’t coming at the time they were supposed to arrive — it takes things to a whole new level. We are still experiencing the pains of this move.
Our experience was a complete nightmare, and the way in which it was handled by Mike and Danny — completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I was assured when I booked that they were the right team for the job — everyone is vested in the company… then explain to me how a crew of 4 guys cannot show up for a move? And what kind of business calls the morning of your move to tell you this? I even spoke to them earlier in the week to confirm our crew of 4 would be there first thing.
Mike offered no solution, was smug-​and at times laughed and made light of the situation.
Totally unprofessional — «yeah, we can’t make it today so we’ll come tomorrow» What?!! We needed to be out of our house that day — «tomorrow» was not a solution. There was no attempt to correct the situation by Mike. We received a call later in the morning from Danny who informed me they «might» be able to get a crew out by noon. Might is not very convincing where we come from. I told him to keep me posted and in the mean time we were making other arrangements and getting things done. He called a couple times after to say 1:00 then 2:00 and finally a team showed up at 2:00 (6 hours late with no real promises of showing up at all) to help with the heavier items (Jason and his team was the only good thing about the company, polite and professional — they were tipped accordingly). But by this time, our friends had moved all of our boxes and half of our furniture – leaving us extremely grateful, but also in an extremely disorganized new home.
So prior to them showing, we got to work. We rented a truck, called in friends, and hired a couple of our niece’s college buddies to help with the heavy lifting. This was all extra costs to us — $ 500 — but the complete and utter stress this company caused, the time it took away from us and about 12 of our friends and family, not to mention the additional time we’ll have sorting through and rearranging things, being that more than 75% of our move was done by people who aren’t professional movers — is what I take a huge issue with. What I take an even bigger issue with, is that Danny argued with my husband over payment. No apologies. No accountability. They made two trips when they really only needed to make one at this point. Which was more time and money, but was clear that the main reason was to go back for 2 big ticket items and hold them hostage on the truck until we paid them.
Stay away from these guys — they’ll sell you on sending a bigger crew than 2 Men and a Truck or Leaders, and then send no crew at all.

I used this company last summer – movers were seven hours late. The guys were nice, but took almost twice as long to move as my identical move the summer before that because they were exhausted at the end of the day. Horrible company.

Hands down worst moving company I have ever dealt with. I don’t even know where to begin. Oh wait yes I do — They cancelled on me and told me I had to reschedule. This is where I was irate because I called earlier to confirm that the movers would be there in the window of time I was provided. The individual stated that yes they would be there. 3 ½ hours later I get a call telling me that the movers weren’t coming at all. However, they were willing to fit me in on Monday morning and offered me a $ 15 dollar discounted rate even though they were fitting me into their schedule on Monday — so I either had to take it or leave it. It didn’t get better from there either, I was told, «ma’am I don’t think you understand how the transportation industry works and sometimes things happen and we won’t be moving you today.» Such classy customer service. I would really like to stress to others — PLEASE look for a different company other than All My Sons Moving and Storage. Definitely not a reliable company that will make your life easier with moving and the customer service was atrocious.

Hate to sound like one of those disgruntled customers BUT I have moved across the country and around the world several times. I have NEVER experienced such total lack of competency as my dealing with these people. Not to go into details, but after multiple phone conversations and verbal quotes, the company was just UNABLE TO PROVIDE A QUOTE AND TO CONFIRM THE MOVE DATE. There are only 2 things important in the moving business: QUOTE AND MOVING DATE. If you are unable to do this — GET OUT OF THE BUSINESS.
Pathetic.

I had two movers from this company assist me with an apartment move last month. This company was very frustrating to deal with.
Things didn’t get off to a flying start. I had been told that I would be called when the movers would be on their way. I received a call a few minutes before the scheduled move time asking where I was, because apparently they were already at my apartment. It seems there are some logistics issues. This wasn’t a deal-​breaker, but I suppose it was a sign of things to come.
The movers themselves were quite a disappointment. They were very confident in themselves, and talked at great lengths at how professional they are, and how it’s jobs of this type that generate the most tipping. They really proved their level of professionalism when they broke one set of blinds in my apartment and were unable to re-​attach a door that they removed to facilitate the movement of my washer and dryer. They had rather inappropriate conversations with each other, presumably when they thought they were out of earshot, regarding «girls who go to the gym» and other topics. Before leaving my old apartment, they told me that they needed to «refuel» at the nearest gas station, as soon as possible, because they didn’t do so before coming to my apartment. When I directed them to the gas station, however, they simply walked into the convenience store and spent the better part of 10 minutes buying drinks for themselves; they never refueled the truck. Over the course of the morning, one of the movers referred to me by various demeaning terms such as «honey» and «darling.» If I had been more savvy on tipping customs, I wouldn’t have tipped them at all.
Additionally, it was extremely difficult to get any compensation for the broken blinds. The same day as the move, I spoke with a representative from the company over the phone. He advised me that the company would refund me for an amount comparable to blinds that I purchased myself, but that All My Sons couldn’t do the replacement because «they are not technicians.» He told me, though, that I shouldn’t pay anyone to install the blinds because «it’s really simple.» Wait, what? So you have to be a technician to replace it, but it’s simple? A little consistency would be nice. Anyway, I purchased a set and replaced them myself. I was told that I would be refunded $ 20 for the blinds. Weeks went by, with nothing posting in my bank account. It took several more phone calls with two representatives before I finally received the $ 20 refund nearly one month after the move.
The movers got my belongings to my new apartment without damage to the belongings themselves, which is the only reason I’m giving them two stars rather than one.

This company is HORRIBLE. They were late, slow, did not wrap the furniture as promised, the price was way over what was quoted, broke several of our belongings, never contacted us about the damage, when I called them they were rude, no one to contact at corporate, they have a fake claims department with no phone number, no one to contact, and the release for property damage states if you sign it you can never say or write anything bad about them. Is that enough to make you turn and run? I hope so. I’d rather speak up and tell the truth than collect what is owed to us, most likely we would not have seen a dime anyway.
I still have all photos, paperwork, and «claims» forms to prove my comments and warrant my negative feedback. Frauds, cheats, and liars. Every time I think about that company or our experience my blood boils!

3 ½ hours LATE!
The lack of stars is because they were incredibly late. Being late seems to be part of their business plan because we have used All My Sons in various locations throughout the country and they have been late EVERY time. (Not like 30 min… like 3 hours).
That being said this is one of the better locations for sure.
Not ok to be that late and still charge the full fee. Other than the fact that we were moving INTO the house and not moving out, it wasn’t that bad.
The guys were nice, although one of them was totally not pulling his load, haha i.e. lamp shades and pillows every trip. Again, not a big deal. The ‘second in command’ guy was in full hustle mode, he rocked. And the foreman was funny, nice and polite.
I feel bad for the actual movers because the company over books and the movers show up late and the customer is mad when they get there. Its not their fault, its poor management.

I was given a time of between 11:00 and 3:00 pm. It is now almost 430 and still nothing. If you aren’t able to do what you say, you should be honest and not take the business. When I called, everyone was polite but I still don’t have movers. I will not use or recommend doing business with this company. So now they are coming in the morning. Complete day wasted.
They showed up on Saturday. Great move. Discounted rate. In addition, new management called and we talked and I think/​hope this type of thing is a thing of the past.

Do NOT USE THEM. The initial correspondence is always good. They are HOURS late, move very slow, and don’t respond to customer complaints.

An All My Sons Employee came to my home and wrote an estimate calling for four men and two trucks to move a piano, fridge, furniture, etc. Confirmed the move date two weeks before we were scheduled to move. No one showed the day of the move.
The company’s dispatcher never called us the day before to confirm our move. The crew assigned to us was sent out on another job. After multiple calls, the Dublin office staff offered to send out a crew at 4 p.m. the same day. We declined and asked for a crew in the morning.
In the meantime, my husband and I moved all of the boxes and furniture we could to our garage and first floor of our home befor.
The next day, a three-​man crew showed up with one truck. The movers busted their butts to get our items loaded and moved. They couldn’t fit all of our items in the truck, leaving some for us shuttle from our old house to our new home.
Honestly, the guys working the truck were hard workers. The office staff was horrible.
I won’t use this company again.

I recently was moved to my new house by the Columbus, Ohio location and the move was a disaster. The drivers were ill prepared and what was supposed to be a one day move with a cost not exceeding $ 1400 turned into a $ 3000 two day move. I ended up with some broken furniture and no one seems to want to take responsibility… not the local Columbus office nor does the claims department. This move originated on Dec 8 and it is now late Jan. and I still have no resolution for my issues. I have contacted the claims dept but they refuse to try to help me. The say they have sent me three claims packets in the last month but I have received none. Their only remedy is to send me another claims packet by regular mail or by fax. I have no fax machine and I have not received any of the packets that were supposedly mailed. Charley in the claims dept suggested it must be the fault of the post office and I should follow up with them. No one within the company seems to want to take ownership of the situation. I would NEVER recommend or use them again.

Horrible experience with All my sons of Columbus on ⁶⁄₃₀ and ⁷⁄₁ Quoted price was not correct at all. Was almost triple. 24 hours late. Horrible Communication. Didn’t tell me till 4:30PM they were not coming. Lost my deposit to cover the extra day. 2 guys took 6 hours to move a 2br apt 3 miles down the road. Had to have them start to dump boxes in the living room as they were so far behind i was out of money. They tried to then charge me for more due to their slowness. Will NEVER use again.
Customer service was poor at best. If I could give a 0 I would. I see way to many stories of how they over charged. Next time I’ll do it my damn self.

We hired All My Sons to unload our moving truck that we drove from Philadelphia. They showed up on time. They were very nice, efficient and professional. The office called during the move to make sure everything was going well. I would highly recommend this company!
