A Better Restoration

No one knows more about restoration than Robert. Not only is the Team at A Better Restoration knowledgeable but the have a great staff and are able to handle most any request or repair. Robert walked us through the process, told us what to look out for and provided great Insite on the restoration process. we will definitely continue with Robert and his Team at A Better Restoration.

Wonderful Carpet Cleaning! I’ve never had to (knock on wood) use the restoration services, but have used Carpet Wizardry for over 20 years. So I’m reposting my review of Carpet Wizardry here:
Carpet Wizardry is a division of A Better Restoration, Inc. But I’ve only used Carpet Wizardry — the carpet cleaners. Fabulous. I met the owner, Andrew, when he cleaned my office carpets in about 1994. Decided to have him clean my home carpets. I was so pleased that I’m still using them 20 years later! Carpets are always so fresh, no residue.

Do not use this company. They overcharge you for work that was never even done. I had them do some remediation which I thought was overpriced but I didn’t argue because it had to be done. After that I asked Robert how I was supposed to live in the house since the remediation only included the removal of the mold and not replacing what was removed (walls, cabinets, carpet, etc) I got a quote that sounded good. I agreed to one price but halfway through the project the price doubled and therefore I told them to stop the work. Now I am sitting here a year later without a good explanation to the bill, and Andrew is threatening small claims court to me because I have not paid them yet. I told him I would be willing to pay a reasonable amount but I will not pay more than what I was quoted and I didn’t understand the bill. I asked for them to itemize the bill so that I could understand what they were charging me, but they kept sending the same bill to me without an explanation. In addition to this problem, they wasted too much time. I had to get a studio motel for me and my 3 boys because the house was unlivable. Robert told me no more than a couple of weeks. I was out of the house for over a month and every day I would show up at the house at 9am and no one would be there. I would wait and wait and finally someone would show up for a couple of hours and leave. to go to another job I went away for 10 days and was told everything would be done while I was gone so that I could move in the minute I got off the plane. Guess what? I had to argue with them while in Boston because no one had shown up at all the entire time I was gone. I returned home only to have to move back into a hotel for another week. I had to be on top of them every single day to ensure they were working on the house and call Robert when no one would show up. I am a single mom of 3 boys who runs a non profit charity and this company not only has ripped me off but is being completely unreasonable. They refuse to return my emails or calls. They ignore me for a year and now threaten to take me to court. A company like this should not be in business. It is sad when a company has no heart and doesn’t try to work with their clients. I will keep you all in the loop as to the outcome of this situation. Andrew sent me an email on June 5^th saying the new invoice did not have the 10% overhead or the 10% profit. I replied back to him immediately saying if that was the case the amount of the invoice would be approx 2k and that I was willing to pay that amount. However I have not heard back from him. and he gave me till 6÷12÷14 to pay the invoice. Given that I have not heard back from him I can only assume we will be heading to small claims court.

We recently decided to sell our home. After getting our own pest report we were shocked to find out we had a leak under our home that needed to be repaired asap. Andrew came out and took the time and energy to crawl under our home and access the situation. Other companies did not even look under the house and bid the job (how can you do that?) Anyway, Andrew was understanding of our urgent situation and had a crew out the next morning. The crew was friendly and knowledgeable, clearly Andrew knows how to hire the right people! They fixed the damage in 24 hours which allowed us to put our house on the market with only a one day delay. Awesome! Thank you Andrew and team!

I have been a happy, loyal customer of «Carpet Wizardry/​A Better Restoration» for over 10 years. As a landlord, I find that tenants often leave carpets in a dreadful state. Before replacing carpets, I will have Andrew check it out — and if he says he can revive it, he can! Recently a tenant skipped out on the rent, leaving behind a 1-​year old carpet that was beyond filthy. (Were those blood stains? Greasy footprints? Had they snuck a dog into the apartment?) and, once again, Carpet Wizardry worked their magic.
