Rick’s Custom Shutters and Blinds

Extremely happy we chose to go with Rick. I called around to a few places and left a message with rick. I had seen all the great reviews so i definitely wanted to meet with him before making a final decision. The consultation went great and i felt super confident Rick would do an amazing job. Once the blinds were installed i was right, they looked great and i couldnt be happier :)

Wow! We are so happy with our shutters! Rick did an amazing job and his timing was perfect. Before we found Rick, we shopped around, no one was as decently priced and legit as Rick. Him and his guys came to install today. Literally 2 hours, and they were done!!! Our house is so complete now! We are so happy and thankful, we waited a year to save for these shutters and we couldn’t be happier! Posting pics now!

I have gotten numerous bids from other blind companies and Rick’s company was by far so much better than any other company on service, price, and quality. I had numerous trouble getting call backs from other companies but Rick was always great at calling me back. He is one cool guy, meet him and you will see his is very kind and genuine. Does not try to sell you things you do not need. He even talked me out of getting blinds for my family room! What sales guy does that?! Rick does, because he looks after your needs and will not sell you anything you do not need.
Also his prices are the best compared to others. Nothing to haggle and negotiate, his prices are the best. And speaking of quality, we just got all our blinds installed and they look great and work great. I would highly recommend Rick for any shutter or blind service. Amazing service, fair price, and great quality product. Rick drove all the way out to Granada Hills to give us an estimate. He was very knowledgeable and helped me choose the right style for our windows. Most importantly, he did not try to up sell nor did he exert any pressure on us to make a decision on the same day.
We were very impressed once the shutters were installed. Rick took down our existing wood blinds to dispose of and he was kind enough to offer to customize a blind to cover our yucky garage window!
Shutters took 6 weeks to install, as promised. During this time, Rick was accessible. He even sent me a text to give me an update!
We were very happy to able to support this small family own business. Its just Rick and his Giant assistant, Parker!

Rick was able to help me with a custom job, he is very helpful, and is available when you call, unlike some other shops!

Initial communication hiccup aside, Rick did an outstanding job on our shutters! We got a couple estimates before we decided on a company to do our shutters. Rick’s estimate was much more in depth and thorough than my prior estimate. He explained far more than his competitor on materials and measurements etc. His finished product is great! Installed and delivered when promised! Will refer friends and colleagues for sure!

Rick and Parker could not have been better and more pleasant to work with and install my new shutters. The shutters look beautiful and Rick’s customer service is the BEST! We used Rick to install shutters in our home office. He was one of a few contractors that we contacted for a bid and he immediately impressed me. He came with his assistant Parker and they were very nice and informative. Most importantly, Rick noticed something no other contractor had noticed — the window on the right is so close to the corner of the wall that we would need a small frame. The other contractors did not notice this and were suggesting larger frames that wouldn’t have worked and they probably wouldn’t have realized it till they tried to install it! Rick also had the best bid in terms of price.
Rick promised that the shutters would arrive within 6 – 7 weeks and they did. He and Parker came to install them and did it in less than 30 minutes! So impressed. The only downside was that they came 45 minutes late but it didn’t really pose an inconvenience to me so I didn’t mind.
He accepts cash, check, or Paypal. Shutters are made by Sunland and have a 25 year warranty on everything including the paint.
Thanks so much Rick and we will continue to keep you in mind for friends who are looking for shutters!

Rick was great.
He arrived on time, was very knowledgeable, and even showed us how to cut a few corners to get a overall posh look on a low budget!
I should have done this review a long time ago and I never forgot my promise to write this review. The shutters have been virtually no maintenance for the past 2 years (I told you this review is loooong overdue), I have washed the windows more than the actual shutters.

My aunt referred me to a DIFFT person (not Rick) who did her house, but after reading the Unilocal reviews, I stumbled upon Rick’s page as a «similar business» and not knowing him at all but reading the positive reviews, I gave it a try.
He came to my house in Hollywood and measured all the windows and we talked about diff’t options (roller shades, shutters, etc). I decided on a light filtering rollershade.
This is where I got tricky: I thought about blackout, mini blinds, etc. Rick was very patient and ran multiple quotes for me.
I finally settled on the original concept and from when I paid (50% through PayPal) to the date of installation was one week turnaround. I was very happy with the opacity, weight and texture of the blinds.

Ok, so my review is so long overdue! Only because Rick did our shutters around April 2013 and we were so busy that we forgot to write a review till now.
Overall his service was great, price was reasonable, and product is excellent. As of today, the shutters he installed for us are in excellent condition. Rick was right, it is low maintenance (haha I don’t clean much) and simply just wipe towel and water; when it gets hot and by closing the blinds make a big difference keeping the heat out; the magnet on the bottom of the shutters makes closing them easily and vice versa.
Although overall it’s a 5 star, he did forgot to come back and correct one of the blinds in our garage as he promised to reorder for the correct size. Over time I think both of us forgot to follow up on it.
Let’s say even though he forgot, it didn’t stop us from referring him to a couple of friends in Azusa and Monterey Park.

Rick did an excellent job on our shutters in our new home. Despite our windows being different sizes because of the year our home was built, Rick was able to make them look beautiful and customized our shutters to our exact liking. He also was able to rush order to get them to get them before Christmas as we had family visiting and wanted them on before.

We ordered blinds from him it fits perfectly.
Actually the custom blinds didn’t come in on time so he had to delay the installation by a half a day.
(We were sad). But he came through the next day and installed the blinds for us on a Saturday evening!
