Grand Teton Distillery is an award-​winning craft distillery specializing in potato (gluten free) vodka and whiskey. Our spirits are recognized by top experts for their purity, smoothness and balance.

History

Established in 2012.

Grand Teton Distillery is a craft distillery, whose hallmark product is potato vodka. Most vodka is distilled from wheat or corn because of higher yields and lower cost. Distilling vodka from potatoes is more difficult and costly compared to grains. Based in Idaho at the foot of the Grand Teton Mountain and surrounded by the best potatoes in the world, it made sense to use potatoes for our spirit.

We have received a Gold Medal 4 years in a row for unflavored vodkas from the Beverage Testing Institute (BTI) in Chicago. BTI is a top independent rating organization that ranks spirits and has an excellent reputation for objectivity. Our vodka has also received a Double Gold Medal from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. A Double Gold is only awarded if all of the judges unanimously award a Gold Medal. We are the first vodka to ever get Double Gold Medals in 2 consecutive years.

Business Owner

John is the Head Distiller at Grand Teton Distillery. John moved to Teton Valley, Idaho in the Spring of 2012 from Indianapolis, Indiana where he was a bartender for 14 years. Other than a few distilling seminars that he attended in the Midwest, John is self-​taught in the art of distillation. His vodka, Grand Teton Vodka is currently ranked the number one potato vodka in the world. John; his wife, Karyn, Director of Operations; and his two dogs, Sirius and Regulus, the Distillery Dogs, live in Tetonia, Idaho.
