History

Established in 2000.

In 1984, Dr. Hoopes established The Eye Center of Kansas City in Overland Park, Kansas. His eyecare practice grew rapidly and was one of the largest in the United States. His Kansas City practice was one of the few centers in the country to be involved with the FDA clinical trials and testing that led to the approval of many of the laser systems used today for LASIK surgery. The first official laser procedure after FDA approval was actually performed at his center. Dr. Hoopes relocated his practice to Sandy, Utah in May 2000, and after 13 years of exceptional service in this facility, he built an ultra-​modern 60,000 square foot facility in Draper, UT in order to provide a better experience for his patients. In the new LASIK facility in Draper, only the latest technology is used to perform eye surgery, including wavefront-​optimized laser systems. Dr. Hoopes is one of the best-​known names in the world of corrective vision surgery, having been named one of the nation’s top 100 LASIK surgeons, in addition to being a perennial inclusion in the list of America’s top ophthalmologists published by the Consumer’s Research Council of America. He has been performing refractive surgery for three decades, and performs over 4,000 eye surgeries per year. Dr. Hoopes works with a talented team of experienced individuals who share his dedication to exceptional eye care.
