Canyon Bicycles

Highly recommended. I have been going to this location for about 4 years. I recently purchased a bike and have been in a few times for minor adjustments. They have been incredibly helpful and friendly.
There have several occasions that they have made some quick adjustments on the spot so I could get up on the mountain that same day.
Shout out to Victor… just awesome. Will be a loyal customer to this store for years to come.

Wonderful experience with this shop!
I live in a neighboring state and drove all the way out to Canyon because their prices were much lower than any other Specialized store. Upon purchase of the bike the salesmen took the time to go through all of the components with me that I was unfamiliar with — there was no rush to get me out of the door and they were extremely knowledgeable and friendly!
I wouldn’t hesitate to refer my friends to Canyon Bicycles, you guys rock! :-)

Yikes!!! Pretty much worst customer service EVER. I was so excited to take my one and only child in to pick out his first bike. We made it a family affair. My husband and I took our super excited little guy in the store. There was one other customer and about 5 employees. The two girls at the counter looked at us and neither of them acknowledged us (unless you count the disdainful once over we got). After surmising that we are not bikers ourselves, they obviously didn’t give us the time of day. We cheerfully went over to them and said we were looking for a bike for our little one. One girl reluctantly stepped forward (after exchanging glances with the other one clearly communicating with each other their mutual lack of interest in being the one to «get stuck with us»). I immediately felt self conscious and really stupid. I wanted to leave so badly, but my son was so excited, I didn’t have the heart. So after about 5 minutes with us, a friend of hers in full canyon cycle team gear walks by and it’s as if we don’t even exist. Totally ignored us to visit with her friend. Then there was her answering of questions with phrases like «it doesn’t matter… they’re all the same», or in response to my specific question about a brand I wasn’t familiar with, she said, «I don’t sell junk. This isn’t Walmart. Everything we have is good»…completely ignoring my question and not giving me any details about the brand. Well excuse me! I couldn’t take anymore so we took our sad little man home without a bike. (Don’t worry… bought one in Provo today).
No, we weren’t going to drop $ 5 K on some fancy road bike, but I wasn’t expecting to be treated so poorly. In my mind, a customer is a customer… and let me say you lost one today. And be sure I will tell everyone in my draper neighborhood to stay as far away from this place as possible. I know we will.

I cannot express enough how pleased I am with every interaction I’ve had at this location!
Sadly, very sadly, I had my bike stolen from my garage last week. The bike that was stolen was a Trek that was purchased to replace my Specialized Rockhopper that was stolen in late 2014, also from my garage. After only having this Trek for a handful of months, I was devastated to have to replace it, again! Furious, too!
We came in this evening to once again, get a new bike for myself, the same Trek. Their website stated they had it in stock so we went down to see.
As always, great and flawless service, I cannot express this enough! It was confirmed the bike was in stock, it just hadn’t been yet assembled. We were advised that it should be ready for pick up tomorrow and we’ll get a call once it’s done.
The wonderful guy who helped us out also did an unbelievable act of service; he said because we’d had such bad luck (and probably because the other bikes were purchased through them as well and on record) he’d like to give us $ 80 in store credit! I was beyond amazed and taken back by the kindness and generosity! Forever, I will be a loyal customer to this Canyons location.
Although I wish we didn’t have to keep replacing stolen bikes, I couldn’t ask for a better experience with dealing with our LBS!

My first bad experience with Canyon, could’ve been pretty serious! I took my Camber in for a tune up, and after my first ride I heard a bit of scraping from my rear brake. I couldn’t quite see what was causing the noise, until I noticed that the rear bolt hadn’t been tightened, and one of the spacers was missing. To me, it looks as though they lost a spacer, didn’t replace it, and left the screw loose so that the rotor wouldn’t rub on the caliper. I definitely can’t trust them to do any work on my bike, so I’ll move my business elsewhere. They should consider themselves lucky that caught it before I decided to go on a serious ride.

TERRIBLE SERVICE, TERRIBLE TREATMENT.
I stopped by this location the week of August 17^th to see what tune-​up services they offer and to look at potentially purchasing a new road bike for my wife. They offer a complete bike disassembly and tune-​up for $ 120, seems like a good deal for how thorough it is done (per the mechanic).
I dropped my bike off Saturday August 23^rd. I’d put a lot of miles recently on it and I wanted it to be tip top for the Salt to Saint ride mid September. After trying to sell me a new chain they said it would be ready early the following week. I responded I would pick it up the following Saturday, 7 days away as I’d be traveling but I was more interested in them being thorough with the bike.
So I arrive at the store at about noon on Saturday August 30^th and walk back to the service area. I tell them my name and describe the bike and the mechanic goes in the back to get it.
I wait. I wait. I can hear the mechanics discussing in the back trying to find the bike (which is reassuring since it’s a nice Trek Madone 5.2 road bike). The guy brings it out finally and great news — they haven’t done any work on it at all — FOR A WEEK!
The mechanic mumbled something about me coming back in 45 minutes and he’d do it. So this great thorough tune-​up for $ 120 and involves soaking the parts and complete disassembly can be done in less than 45 minutes… Not the care and attention they market the service to be.
They didn’t even seem too bothered by it. I’m sorry I was putting them out so much. I asked to speak to a manager but was rebuffed by an «I can help you myself» by another kid on my way out the door.
I needed to get in 2 long rides over the holiday weekend with the bike in good shape. Thanks Canyon for treating me 2^nd class and struggling to find my bike in some corner of your shop. I guess my associates and I will have to somehow find a way to get our bikes serviced, purchase new bikes, and buy accessories from one of the many other bike shops in the area.
Below Mike says they would never knowingly neglect a customer. Well your staff very knowingly neglected me in a very direct and personal way. I’m terribly frustrated.

I recently purchased a bike here and my overall experience was great! Ben provided objective feedback to my many questions and provided insight into what I was looking to do with the bike. The mechanics gave me useful tips for maintaining the bike. I recommend Canyon Bicycles in Draper without reservation and look forward to doing business here again.

My bike shop of choice. Great product selection. Awesome staff. Adept mechanics. Good prices. Bought my road bike here and won’t shop at another shop if I can help it.

As an active but non competitive road cyclist, I have visited many bike shops in the area and have ultimately made the majority of my visits /​bike related purchases at Canyon Bicycles in Draper. They have frequent coupons which incents me to drop by and simply «look around.» On every visit, I’ve found the employees to be welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and never pushy. I’ve never felt pressured into buying anything but rather, have always been impressed with the vast product knowledge shown by each of the staff that have helped me. The knowledge I think comes from the fact that they all seem to be highly enthusiastic about bikes and love being there. It’s not just a job, it’s a passion and it shows.
This past week I have been contemplating and researching a new wheelset for my road bike. This was a significant and expensive upgrade for me and I ended up purchasing my wheels today from Canyon. They had a special on the wheel that I ultimately chose and provided an excellent review of all the best possible options for my bike and the type of riding I do. I believe it was Jill who helped me and did an outstanding job of pointing me in the right direction.
Very impressed with Canyon Bicycles. They have a great selection of the gear and brands that I like and again the staff is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and passionate about bikes. This is not the cheap end as bike stores go, but you definitely get what you pay for just like anything else.

I was in the Draper location last week with my 16 year old daughter and 3 year old son. I was inquiring about a bike for my daughter. She wanted a bike for her birthday and I was prepared to purchase one that day. The woman that approached us immediately when we entered the store was curt and arrogant. She clearly was not interested in helping me with a purchase after she, very clearly, scanned my body from head to toe with her eyes several times. After she so rudely sized me up, she said they had no beach cruisers my daughter was interested in, in stock and I could look in their catalog. I asked if that was online, because at NO time did she offer to get the catalog, she then laughed and said, no we have the catalog here… by this time my 3 yo, had a little melt down, and the saleswoman walked away and went and stood behind the counter with 3 other employees. I calmed my son down and walked over to the counter, assuming I would be shown the catalog. Wrong! All the employees just stood there chatting with eachother and never said one thing to me. From what I saw, they are not interested in a sale unless you are there to purchase a $ 1000+ bicycle and you look like you are ready for the Tour De France or the Ironman. So I will be spending the $ 500 I have for my daughter’s birthday bicycle at The Bike Barn in Lehi. The BB may not have as big of a selection, but they are attentive and curteous and offer to order products not in stock…
Overall, Canyon Bicycles has arrogant, unhelpful, selfabsorbed, very unprofessional employees…

These guys are the best. I’ve taken my bike here a few times to get a tuneup, and they always do a great job. This past weekend, I dropped my bike off and picked it up a few days later after they had done a bit of work on it. I tested it out and everything was great. The next day, I got a call from one of the mechanics saying that he was worried that he may not have completely tightened a screw on the gears; I brought it back in, and it turned out fine, but it was awesome that he called me to check. Hardly anyone would go out of their way to do that! Everyone there is super nice and helpful. Great shop.

Great selection of bikes, gear, food, and everything else that cyclists of all level need. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Awesome bike shop!

Don’t waste time going to other bike shops. Canyon Bicycles has everything you need with lots of help. I used to be a loyal REI customer but after a few bad experiences with associates that didn’t know much more than I did about the product in the cycling department I left, and found Canyon. My first time in I was bringing my bike in to get a flat fixed. A nice gentlemen associate saw me trying to get my bike out of my car through the window and helped me pull the bike out. He wheeled the bike back to service to be fixed, showed me how to fix it, and then showed me around the store and answered all the questions I had. The showroom is pretty impressive. There is lots of drooling to be done in the high end bikes. When we were done the associate showed me how to get my bike back into my car much easier than how I was trying to get it out. That level of customer service is so hard to find. I had a great experience, and continue to have great experiences.

I bought my bike here. My wife bought her bike here. My brother bought his bike here. And I continue to refer people to Canyon Bikes for a number of reasons.
Every time I have gone, the staff has been super friendly and knowledgeable. Give them a price range, and they’ll get you set up with a great bike. They have a large selection of bikes and accessories, and when we were in a rush and told them we needed our bikes pronto, they got to it and had them built by the next day.
You won’t find Walmart prices at Canyon Bikes. But you also won’t find Walmart level service or products.

I thought I was getting to this store an hour before closing, but apparently they have ‘winter hours’, so I actually walked in the door about 5 minutes before closing.
I was immediately approached and I verified the early close time, but asked if perhaps he could answer just a few quick questions. I’m preparing for a sprint tri, but have yet to actually get on a real bike and had little idea about how it all works. The guy was way more than helpful. He answered all of my questions with a smile, in detail, showed me the different bikes, price ranges, features, had me hop on one to test for size and invited me back to test ride a few. He clearly loves biking and talking about biking and his enthusiasm was contagious. It all only took about 15 min, but it was past closing time and he wasn’t at all put out.
I still not super well versed, but he mentioned they are one of the few dealers that carried so many lines of bikes. I think that was it. Their low end models were Specialized, starting around $ 700.
When I am ready to buy a new bike, this is spot I will be heading.

This place… I can not think of the last time, that I have been treated so poorly. I walked into this store on Feb. 14^th, wandered around the store for a good 15 minutes. Not one employee asked if I needed help, not one employee even said Hi. There was at least 5 that I could tell, some helping people and some not. In a retail establishment like this, the employee should walk up to the customer and greet them. It isn’t a grocery store. But then again, the Smith’s Food I frequent the store manger walks around and asks how people are doing.
Back to the story… 15 minutes went by, no help, no hello, nothing. I walked out of the store unlocked the door to my car opened it, shut it. Walked back in. Went to the first employee I saw and asked for the manager. She replied, that is me. I stuck out my hand, and introduced myself.
I said hello, my name is … and your store lost a sale today. I wandered around this store for 15 minutes, and no one could even say hi to me. she replied with «I am so sorry, is there anything I can do?»
No there is nothing you can do… Actually you can talk to your employees and tell them how to greet people, then I walked out.
I guess my loose fitting clothes didn’t fit in with the spandex and bike shoes.
I was upset, so after my nerves calmed down. I called the South Jordan store, and inquired on the bike I had went in to purchase. A Felt Brougham. The person in S.J. said that they had sent their inventory of Felt’s over to the Draper store, and to call them.
At this point in time, a couple hours had elapsed and the manager should have talked to her employee’s, and everyone should have been on customer service point, ready to aim and please. Make the company some $$
So I called the Draper store.
The person at the Draper store, informed me that they had none in stock.
I asked if they could order one in, he said yes. I said great how much would it be. «I will have to call and find out, let me get your information and I will call you tomorrow with the price»
So I gave him my name, and my phone number. Feb. 15^th come around, no call back. This is a guaranteed sale. When I called up I asked for a specific bike. Asked if they could order one and said I could make a deposit. And no call back…
I was in Ogden the next day, looked up Felt retailers in Ogden. Walked into Ye Olde Bike Shoppe, Joey the owner greeted me right when I walked in, I told him what I wanted. He said no problem. Called felt right that moment, told me they had it in stock and he could order it. Picked up the bike on Feb. 18^th from Ye Olde Bike Shoppe with a smile on my face.
