Pets In Need Animal Rescue

I am reviewing PIN from two different sides. First I am an adopter of Buddy in 2007 and Luna in 2008. Great kitties who are currently sleeping right next to me. Second I am a volunteer at PIN since 2007. Want to talk about dedicated? These ladies (and men) are all about the kitties and not in a crazy cat lady kind of way. Just passionate people who truly want to help every cat find their forever home. I am proud to be a member of this group. We run yard sales, silent auctions, sell calendars and just plain ask people for donations. We have tireless volunteers who go above and beyond to get it done. We are a 501c non profit status organization.
Please think shelter before breeder!!!

This is a great shelter! I could tell the volunteers were truly committed to finding good homes for their animals. The shelter in Somerville was very clean, and multiple volunteers stopped by to play with the cats while I was there. I could tell that the cats are very well taken care of while they wait to find their homes. Also, when I was looking for the right cat, multiple volunteers contacted me with suggestions and really took into consideration what I wanted. All in all the people here are great and I highly recommend this little shelter to anyone who is looking for a cat or kitten!

This shelter is amazing. They really care about the animals and are really easy to work with. I visited the shelter and it was extremely clean and the volunteers were really nice. They are really knowledgeable about each animals needs and their health conditions. They helped us pick out the perfect pets!

We got our cat from this small, no-​kill shelter about a year ago and had a great experience working with them. The organization is run exclusively by volunteers who are extremely dedicated to the animals. Many of the volunteers actually foster some of the cats and dogs in their own homes.
While they do have a small shelter in Somerville, a lot of their animals are in foster homes due to budgetary/​space constraints, so it can be a bit annoying to make individual appointments to see some of the animals especially if there were a few on Petfinder that you wanted to meet in person. Then again, the foster parents can usually tell you a lot more about the pet than some random shelter worker so maybe it’s for the best!
