Dazzler Brooklyn

I really enjoyed staying at the Dazzler. The hotel was clean, well designed, and basically brand new. The staff was super friendly and the rooms were quite spacious. Although I was concerned with the traffic noises due to the other reviews, I really didn’t find it to be problematic at all. I live in Brooklyn, so perhaps I’m just used to a little outside noise, but I don’t think this hotel is especially loud.
I’ve stayed at a number of hotels in NYC and this was one of my favorites in this price range. I look forward to returning!

I wanted to give this a higher star rating. I really really did, since I had such high hopes and expectations from it however after spending three nights here, I can’t bring myself to do that. Anyways, starting with the pros– the rooms are spacious considering its NYC, the design is modern, the bathroom’s pretty great (clean, plenty of hot water, good towels), the staff at the front desk is really friendly and the bed comfortable. The location is good in the sense that its a 10 min walk to the nearest subway, however, that’s where the biggest con comes in aswell. Being on one of Brooklyn’s busiest streets– the Flatbush ave, there’s going to be constant traffic sounds coming straight through the night. Another major setback is the paper thin walls. You can hear your neighbor’s conversations & it’s bad. Like you get interested in their conversation and want to chime in your opinion kinda bad. Also if they’re watching tv till late night, or have babies throwing tantrums– you’d be in on that too. The breakfast was mediocre & once when I went around 9.15 am there was almost nothing left. However they’d been on 100% occupancy the night before so maybe that contributed to it. The lady who was working behind the breakfast bar straight up rolled her eyes at me when I told her that the hot water in the thermos was done. She went, filled it up, brought it back and placed it with a thump infront of me– walked away. Like whaaa? Not a morning person I guess. Oh and I read in someone’s review that their room had an espresso machine. Mine didn’t. But it did have a mini fridge which was awesome.

It is the glowing butt of the neighborhood. The façade has a ridiculous LED design of lights that changed color every second – red, orange, yellow, green, blue purple… making it one of the most obnoxious looking buildings in all of NY. Embarrassing to stay there.
Also the police station and fire station are right on the other corner and the entrance to the Manhattan bridge is right in front of the hotel so bring ear plugs if u don’t like sirens and honking all night long.

Cute hotel in great location in Brooklyn. Huge, comfortable beds and great C.O. Bigelow bath products. Breakfast included, but was pretty basic. It consisted of muffins, breads, deli meat and cheese, and cereals. The room has a mini bar fridge (not filled), electric kettle, and espresso machine. I do wish the room came with tea and coffee to accompany the above mentioned. The location is very close to the subway, great restaurants, shopping, amd grocery store. You are right next to the Manhattan bridge. Over a I would stay again, although the city noise at night can be loud. The price is worth this hotel.

The worst hotel ever woth a f*** up customer service. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone

The hotel was great all around. Great location, ambiance was welcoming. Staff was excellent! Rooms and amenities were on point. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting NYC. A great place to stay if you’re in Dumbo. The rooms are clean and new, and the staff is super friendly! The beer garden wasn’t open when we were there, but it looks like a nice spot to enjoy a drink outside. You’re close to all of the restaurants and sites near the Brooklyn & Manhattan bridges.
My only tip would be to ask for a room on the back of the building. The street noise is pretty intense even with double-​glazed windows.
Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here one night after getting a fantastic deal on Jetsetter, too good to pass up. This place is brand new, spotless, sharp furnishings. I stayed in the 1 bedroom suite; king bed with a pullout bed in the couch and there were pocket doors to separate the rooms if necessary.
This place is only about a 10 minute walk from the Subway (Jay St/​Metro Center, about 30 mintes on the A train from JFK/​Howard Beach line)
A basic complementary breakfast was included; consisted of muffins, fruit, bread/​cereal options, hard boiled eggs, juice, tea, coffee. Like I said, pretty basic but very nice to get a little bite before getting on with your day.
So the only reason I subtracted a star was due to the following;
I was on the third floor on the SE corner (Tillary/​Duffield) and could hear the traffic all night. What kind of traffic do you have all night? Well NY never sleeps but it appears there is a major truck route on Tillary going and coming from Manhattan via the Manhattan St bridge. If you are on another side of the hotel it might not be as bad, or if you are a heavy sleeper it you might not hear it.
The other item I noticed was the seating area at the breakfast area was really small to accommodate the number of guests. I got going at 7:45A which might have been a peak time, maybe a few temp tables could be added to help. On second thought I should have grabbed a plate and took it back to the room instead of waiting around and eventually eating on the couch in the lobby.
With all that said, if I needed to stay the night in Brooklyn again I would definitely consider the Dazzler.

The hotel is still under construction, no complaints about noise or trouble directly linked to that but it has it’s price on the facilities. Not all of them are ready, including the parking, restaurant,…
The (temporary) breakfast is bad. This is actually the only bad thing about the hotel. It’s supposed to be continental buffet but they only have croissants, eggs and jam. (Slight exaggeration but not really). They have close to nothing.
Book the room, enjoy the friendly staff but eat elsewhere.

I only booked Dazzler Brooklyn because I was attending a wedding down the street, and the price was ridiculously inexpensive on Jetsetter. OK, OK, OK. I also booked it because of the name. I must admit I giggled every time I told someone at the reception I was staying at the Dazzzzlerrr. It’s new, so no one — not even the Brooklynest of Brooklynites — had heard of it.
When I first arrived late at night, I was promptly checked into a room on the sixth floor. I went upstairs and was dismayed to learn it was a.) tiny and b.) directly across the elevator. I used to live in New York, so I could deal with tiny, but I can’t handle tourists congregating outside my door in the morning when I’m nursing a champagne hangover. I’d rather hear street noise.
I went downstairs and was promptly reassigned to Room 601, a corner queen that was much larger and located next to a lovely rooftop terrace. From the espresso machine to the USB charging ports, the design and furnishings were all fabulous. I loved the towels. The wi-​fi worked wonderfully, and housekeeping did a great job, except never refilling my shower gel while I was staying there.
The breakfast was forgettable. There were only some bland croissants, bagels, cereals, and hard boiled eggs. I don’t recall seeing any fruit. The man staffing the lackluster fare actually had the audacity to pass our flyers for his bodega down the street. I ended up skipping it after the first morning because I’d rather buy my own coffee and pastries down the street.
The location is a bit odd. There’s not much going on in the immediate vicinity. It’s not unsafe per se, just barren until you’re closer to Jay Street in downtown Brooklyn. However, the Dazzler — tee hee hee — is an easy to walk to the Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Heights, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Dumbo and other spots. I’d definitely recommend it, depending on your circumstances.

First off the staff is amazing which almost makes up for all the cons I’m about to list:
The breakfast consist of bagels and two types of cereal, muffin and hard boiled eggs. the hotel lobby smelled of cheap perfume. The rooms are descent… minus the three bugs we found. The compinsation we were giving was to move to another room witch is directly across from the elevators. The was only a half piece of glass that got the tile floor wet and slippery.
At check they said the bug was tested and said it was not a bed bug but they also said they do know what the bug is. Hmmm odd since the «pest control «did the test.
Overall the room looks really nice, but lakes in the finish work. For what we paid for the room you would’ve expected a little more.
