I came here with a co-worker after a client meeting in the neighborhood. He and I were craving for some teriyaki chicken and bubble tea. There was a decent line when we walked in. Trying to order here is worse than trying to order at a drive-thru with a broken microphone/speaker. I ordered several times, yet the cashier was not paying attention. At this point, the line got even longer, and I felt the pressure of ordering and paying really fast. I had to yell at the woman at the register until finally, she looked at me and said, «what do you want?» Okay. After that weird and rude exchange, I waited for a really long time to pick up my food and bubble tea. The food reminded me of food court Chinese take-out. They were very generous on the chicken teriyaki and rice, but it was just nothing out of the ordinary. I had my teriyaki fix, but wasn’t truly satisfied with it. The worst part is — and this was ENTIRELY my fault — I ordered a red bean milk tea. What I thought was red-bean flavored milk tea with boba was actually milk tea with red beans on the bottom. I didn’t mind it as I love red bean, BUT, it was ridiculously sweet that it took me a few hours to finish it. I wasn’t going to throw it away; I spent money on it! I wouldn’t recommend this place for anyone who is trying to go out for a quick lunch. Oh, and if you have a much louder voice than I do, you’ll probably get your order in quicker than I did.

The line was quick and the staff was bustling by the register packing all the orders. Ordered a beef teriyaki box($ 8.95) and a medium Ovaltine, total comes out to $ 10.40. Credit card requires a $ 10 min. The medium Ovaltine is a regular Ovaltine, semi sweet, slightly chocolatey. The beef teriyaki wasn’t pleasant. It was over cooked, meat rough and clumpy with each bite. And there wasn’t enough of the meat in the box, not that it was enjoyable any way. The small bundle of veggies were a few cabbage slices and some carrots. Overall, definitely avoiding this option, will see how the teriyaki or hibachi chicken choices are next time.

Im a student around here and i frequently get a plate of food or bubble tea here. The sushi is really good and i find the portions a really good size. The bubble tea is quite pricey though for just a medium but to be honest i like it better than all the other bubble tea places in the area. It used to be my second favorite bubble tea place from the one around the corner but that got turned into a hibachi place. Anyway if you’re looking to spend under 15 – 10 bucks for lunch here’s the place. Or if you’re really cheap or low on funds, get a bubble tea and dollar slice across the street. :)

Went with my friend and got the dragon roll sushi and bubble tea. One they charge to change the cucumber to mango, and they actually charge you to put bubbles in the bubble tea if you don’t look at your receipt… The eel and mango don’t have much taste. But the bbq on it was tasty.(And out of season is not an excuse for the mango to taste like water since another sushi place I went to that same week tasted FRESH and had taste.) The tea was good but the next day my friend told me she had gotten sick and well I have a stomach of steel so not one to judge on that but that was the only thing I ate that day and the last thing she ate that day. But won’t be going back. The place looks nice and clean though, good service too.

It is new place, so the look is nice and clean. But the food very salty. Don’t know about the sushi. The price of the food is acceptable at this area.

From the looks of it, I would avoid the sushi at this joint, but what you should go for is the chicken teriyaki. Now, I don’t know what style this is that makes it different from other kinds of chicken teriyaki where you get a grilled chicken breast with some sweet sauce ladled over top as an afterthought, but this harkens back to the teriyaki that they used to do in the food court at the mall. Marinated morsels of thigh meat hit the griddle for a while, get basted in another round or two of sauce and hot oil, and come off piping hot with a nice crust and a great savory(with the tiniest hint of sweet) taste. Served over fried rice with some«vegetables»(90% being some sort of cabbage, nothing to write home about) for about $ 8? Sold.

They are definitely filling a hole in the market! BK Express is a mid-priced Chinese & Japanese takeaway, that also does bubble teas and other yummy drinks. The sushi rolls are OK — not the best I’ve had — but in this area devoid of any other good Japanese or Chinese choices, its a miracle.

Decided to give BK Express a try because I love sushi more than anything in the world and I live around the corner. Typically for good sushi I have to order in from further away on Smith Street since Downtown Brooklyn is seriously lacking. The restaurant is relatively small and when I arrived around 6:30 pm on a Monday only one person was eating in. However, like me, a few others were there for take-out. The menu is mostly sushi but they also have tempura, udon and fried rice options. There is a separate menu for slushies and bubble tea. A couple of items on the sushi menu, like uni(sea urchin), they didn’t actually have because they said no one has been ordering it, which is fair. I tried one special roll — called the dancing tuna roll — and two hand rolls. Prices were reasonable with the special roll(8 pieces) costing $ 8, which is less than at other places I’ve eaten at. I sat at a table near the counter as the sushi chef was putting together my order. He seemed to be confused and the waitress had to keep bringing over the menu to help him, which was slightly disconcerting. The actual taste when I finally got to try it was good. Fish was fresh. I think the tuna roll was best, as the hand rolls were somewhat inconsistent. The one hand roll was tiny with almost no rice in it whereas the other was much more full. Seems like they are still getting used to everything, as they are a new restaurant, so hopefully they work out some of the kinks, as I would definitely try them out again.

Obsessed with this place — eaten there twice in one week! It’s harder to find good sushi places in downtown brooklyn… usually have to travel down to cobble hill area(ok it’s not THAT far) but when you want some fresh fish, traditional or inventive rolls, look no further. The staff is friendly, too!

So far so good with this new addition! They are definitely giving the smoothie and bubble tea place next door a run for their money $$! I can say that the bubble tea here is delicious! I also tried their sushi rolls which are good as well. They have a lunch special, any two rolls for $ 7.95. Until next visit..
