This is the best animal veterinarian hospital ever. I feel so lucky to have found this awesome place. Where do I begin? 1^st can I talk about the staff? The office manager is the best. Everytime I go in there she is just so kind and sweet. The other 2 young ladies who are vet techs are the same exact way. The Dr. well he is just so full of knowledge and answers every question you have. Everyone there is just patient. The office energy is so positive. Talk about a clean office! I wish I could give this place more then 5 stars because they deserve it. I know my fur baby is in good hands. Thanks guys.

If you want your perfectly healthy puppy to end up cripple, then this is the place to go to.
I took my 6-​month-​old puppy there to be neutered, and two days after, he started to limp severely. I immediately took him back to the vet, hoping for an explaination. Instead, he ignored my concern and stated that it was just a knee problem and it would soon resolve. Well. it did not resolve. In fact, it got worse. My puppy became three-​legged and seemed to be in a lot of pain. So, I took him back again. This time, they took an X-​ray and the vet concluded that my puppy had hip dysplasia which according to him, is «very common in the chihuahua breed.» He also said that there was nothing else he could do to fix the problem, and that I should just accept it. He prescribed pain medication and joint supplement to my 6-​month old puppy as if he were an old dog. HE LIED TO MY FACE! After my extensive research, I found out that hip dysplasia is in fact common in large breed dogs and extremely rare in small ones. And why did it happen suddenly just 2 days after surgery in a 6-​month-​old healthy puppy? I consulted another vet who confirmed my suspicion. The injury was in fact the result of trauma which obviously occurred from positioning during surgery. I had to pay another $ 1500 for femoral head osteotomy surgery to repair the damage. I had to see my dog suffer for 2 more months. Thank goodness. Since the second surgery, my dog’s condition has much improved. He is now able to bear weight on the injured leg and does not seem to have pain at all. I understand that problems can occur with surgery. However, I did not appreciate that this vet tried to dismiss my concern in order to avoid responsibility. If I had listened to him, I would have to witness my puppy suffer for the rest of his life. On the top of that, he is also rude and impatient. He clearly does not have empathy to animals and should have his license revoked.
My one star is for his friendly ancillary staff. But that’s the only positive thing I can say about this animal hospital.

The staff was really friendly, i brought my bunny in with an eye infection. The doctor knew what he was talking about and very direct, he automatically got to work when he saw my bunny. Long story short, i went in today and his eye infection already seems to be clearing up. I will definitely be coming in for more regular visits plus they waived the consultation fee because i was a first time customer and i found them through Unilocal

Terrible place, completely rude doctor and unprofessional. Took my puppy here who was extremely sick and hoped for some empathy. When he came in he was very impatient and rough in handling the puppy. She is a gentle thing but he and his tech were pinning her down causing a lot of distress on the dog, who was compliant up until they were forcing her down to check her ears. She was clearly in a lot of pain and he completely disregarded that. That was only in the treatment of the dog. He was condescending when explaining the condition to me as well. I graduated in engineering so I had no trouble following, but I was just shocked to hear how sick she was while he kept prodding rudely, «do you understand??» While not paying any mind to the fact that I might need a few minutes to think over the treatment plan. He was just trying to manipulate my state of grief to fork out more money. He also came up with snarky comments when I asked him if she would get her appetite back, like shrugging and saying, «what do you want me to say, I don’t know!» I would like him to keep his voice down, and do his job but I guess that’s too much to ask. To top it off he wanted me to come back everyday to spend $ 40 on shots until she got better.
The front staff is friendly, but we also left without getting a reciept. Almost $ 60 visit (first time exam fee waived) for a shot that we didn’t even know what it was. My dog is still without an appetite and feeling miserable as ever, so I’m pretty sure I just wasted money. Don’t give this guy money, he shouldn’t be a vet with the disdain he treated my pup and myself (and lack of capacity).

I took my cat here yesterday for drooling and sneezing. I will never bring any of my pets here again. It was my first time going there. I did find them on Unilocal.Since they had 5 stars and a free visit when you mention Unilocal,I figured it was worth a shot. I honestly left with a great impression and feeling comfortable about my sick cats’ condition. The staff is really friendly and makes sure to make your pet feel comfortable. So, the vet said my cat had a cold. We did X-​rays, looked at his mouth. Did everything to examine him. I was given medicine for his «cold». The vet said if he’s breathing with his mouth open to call him in the morning and I would be given something else. When I got home I googled, cat breathing open mouth. Apparently it’s a very serious condition and needs immediate attention. Not overnight supervision. But still, feeling comfortable I thought, well he is the vet?
So, I come home and my boyfriend is not convinced with what the vet has said or diagnosed. I’m thinking my boyfriend is just being paranoid and dramatic. He took our cat to the emergency and thank god he did! He had ulcers in his mouth. His breathing was getting worse. His pupils were extremely dilated. I honestly think if we would’ve waited he would’ve passed away last night.
I’m honestly so upset that I paid $ 177 for a misdiagnosis! When the vet from TVH looked in his mouth, he didn’t really fully examine him now that I look back. Now I feel like he was being lazy. The vet at the ER showed us the ulcers. They were clearly visible! I was looking forward to bringing my other 2 cats to TVH clinic as soon as I left from the appointment. They do seem to have a family friendly atmosphere. The vet at the ER advised to follow up with a regular vet in about two weeks. Definitely will not be following up at this clinic.

Very satisfied with the workers there. My dog Immediately got the attention she needed, they didn’t hesitate. The doctor jumped right in and found my dog’s problem. Very professional.

I’ve been using Unilocal for many years to find different business and sometimes tempted to write a review but never did. I had to make justice to this place as it was best experience ever. I’ve owned different animals and have had experience with various veterinarians including Banfield and this place is top notch. Doctor is straight forward, transparent saying it as it is. Trimmed nails and provided flea meds at no extra cost. Staff was amazing, extremely friendly superb customer service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I recently adopted a GSD from Downey Seacca and she had one of the worst cases I’ve seen of Kennel Cough. She was so sick the poor thing stopped eating and the vets at Seacca gave me pill antibiotics for her, but of course they were useless if she wasn’t eating. Luckily, I did some research and found Thomas Vet Hospital! The doctor and staff are great. They genuinely care about the wellbeing of animals and most of all they get straight to the point and give you no fluff. I’ve been so happy with the full recovery of my GSD that I even took her there for her vaccines. It’s a really affordable place & they have plans for pet owners who would like it. I definitely recommend it! I am very weary of taking my dog to just any vet so it was such a relief to find this place.

This Vet hospital is Great… I took my Boxer for examination and treatment due to our family
Doberman attack. It was my fault for the fight. I gave both dogs bones separately then I left them unattended with the bones and the fight was on. Never again. They were not ever aggressive till then. They both got a long just fine.
Dr. Shargani and his staff were extremely helpful. His assistant helped take my boxer out of my car and the doctor carried my Boxer to the car after his examination and medicine had made her drowsy. The office was clean, they saw us right away. He will diffidently be our veterinarian. Also his prices are very reasonable. The 1^st visit was free. For Downey I thought the prices would be higher and they were not. A great place for your pets. They were very thorough through out the examination and they do not try and sell you things you don’t need.

My dog ate a dead bat (I collect weird items) and I was scared because my dog is my best friend and I didn’t want to lose him, he was really sick and got maggots on his butt, I was expecting a scolding and I received it, but the doctor was really nice and helped my dog and I, he gave him shots, medicine, and some shampoo to kill the maggots off him. They were all really nice and helpful, great prices Aswell! My dog is still very ill but I hope the medicine we got helps him!:)5 stars! I recommend you come here.

Several years ago, a kitten of about 3 months showed up with his mama and two brothers at my parent’s house in Southeastern New Mexico.
Instantly, I fell in love with his regal posture. His short grey fur. His beautiful gaze. And the way he meowed. I begged my husband to let him into our home in which we already (at the time) had 3 cats. We named him Kingston.
Fast forward to last night (9÷29÷15) when we noticed an abscess near his rectum. I was devastated. We had been on vacation for about a week and had not noticed any changes with Kingston let alone the abscess. That night, though, the discharge was fairly frequent. King, as we often call him, was much more talkative than usual. He was a bit lethargic, yet, jumping in his usual places, eating and drinking normally, and had been — as best I could tell — defecating like usual. At first feared the open sore was ringworms, then possibly a ruptured anal gland. It was neither, according to the doctor.
I’ve had my share of visits in veterinaries. After quickly reviewing several area offices/​hospitals later that night, I took a chance on the Thomas Veterinary Hospital and I haven’t a single regret.
An appointment was not necessary, I was told on the phone. So we came in at 10:30 a.m. I filled out a form. We had our exam. Diagnosis. Treatment. Even chatted with them a while. We were out the door by 11:00 a.m.
The staff was exceptionally nice. Extremely helpful. They even carried King in his carrier back to my vehicle while I wrangled our two human daughters.
Because I had mentioned I found them using Unilocal and we were first-​time patients, King’s office examination fee ($ 40) was waived.
Dr. Shargani is the main reason I give them 5 stars, though. I do not take well to doctors who are not direct and ask seemingly irrelevant questions. He was no non-​sense. Direct. Not too detail-​oriented, but King’s case was fairly simple. They shaved his bottom a bit. Asked me if they could trim his nails which I was hesitant in allowing. Administered an antibiotic injection ($ 50). Lastly, I was shown how to administer King’s oral antibiotic ($ 20) by Dr. Shargani himself.
In hindsight, I also appreciated their listening to me about not wanting to simply drop King off. I’ve dropped off animals before at vet offices only to have my stomach in knots the entire time & a huge lack of communication.
My instincts tell me that King’s abscess will diminish as Dr. Shargani suggested it will within the next week or so. For that matter, I will return to TVH for all of our furry loved ones.

Hidden gem! Listen up, the doctor here not only treats symptoms like traditional vets but has a more holistic approach by using supplements. I took my 12 year old Chihuahua today because she has been suffering from recurring skin infections for an entire year and i was tired of taking her to the same vet only to keep getting prescribed antihistamines and antibiotics for her infected sores and itchy skin. That method only treats symptoms and does not help you get to the root of the problem. It keeps coming back!
This doctor explained that she has allergies and needs the skin supplements to restore the oils in her skin and they have the added benefit of boosting her immunity to fight off infections. Skin that is dry and irritated will cause the dog to scratch and infect their skin. The supplement he gave her will also boost her immunity by allowing her to more readily absorb essential nutrients like vitamin a and d. It also gives her the omega fatty acids that are often depleted even in the best processed foods available. Makes sense.
As far as pricing, the best anywhere! Honestly! I couldn’t be happier and my dog will finally get to heal.
The doctor is awesome, the staff is wonderful, the place is clean and gives great service!

I gave this place a second chance and it was better than the first! Barney had been scratching, licking, and biting himself a lot these last few days I also noticed he had 4 red spots those were the main ones he kept picking at. So today I googled these symptoms they all came down to «hot spots», I felt so bad my dog had been dealing with this.
As soon as we got there we were greeted and walked into the patient room right away, I got there 20min before closing and they still took me in. A few minutes later the vet came into the room to exam Barney, he gave him a shot for the inflammation. He also told me what causes hot spots and how to prevent them. He provided me with many things that I can use daily without any harm, Barney has been happy and running around since we got home! Thank you! Will definitely be going back & recommend to anyone that really cares about their fur babies!

I was told that my dog had an intestinal blockage at Crossroads Emergency and Hollydale Animal Hospital on 7÷13÷2015. Both places ran tests and told me he needed surgery but never found anything in the x-​rays. After they ran my savings dry, I couldn’t afford the surgery ($ 6,000) so Hollydale told me I had to put my dog down.
On Tuesday morning (7÷14÷2015), I was distraught thinking it was the last day I had with my dog. I decided to get a few more opinions and risk going into severe debt. After looking at everyone’s reviews for Thomas Vet Hospital on Unilocal,I decided to give them a call.
That’s when Robin answered. Through ugly cries I managed to say, «I’m hoping you can help me. My dog has an intestinal blockage and I was told surgery costs $ 6,000» She calmed me down and got Dr. Shargani on the phone. He was straight to the point and asked me a few questions.
«Is your dog eating?» –Yes
«Is he vomiting?”-Not since Friday
«Your dog is fine. He does not have an intestinal blockage. How much were they charging you?» — $ 6,000
«Heh, no. Come to me and I will tell you what to do.»
Luckily this place is ten minutes from me, so I got dressed and we headed over. We parked (they have parking in the back for those of us who stress out over finding parking in LA!) and upon entry Robin greeted us right away. For the first time in two days, I felt I could breathe. Everyone was so welcoming. You could feel the closeness between clients and staff. Multiple regulars came in to buy dog food and medication refills. Robin knew I was the crying girl on the phone so they got me into a room right away after I finished filling out paperwork.
I gave Dr. Shargani the x-​rays and test results and within 3 minutes, I learned more from him than I had from the other two doctors I’d seen. He addressed all my concerns and assured me more times than I could count that my dog did not have a blockage. He gave my dog two shots, I can’t remember what they’re called but on the receipt it says «Cerenia & B Complex» and «Atro/​Pen G». He prescribed an antibiotic and gave me canned dog food that was high in fiber to help him poop. I also had to bring him a stool sample once my dog pooped to see if maybe he had a parasite or amoeba.
He explained that a blocked dog cannot eat at all, and will throw up all of his food. He gave me an in-​depth analysis of the x-​rays and showed me there was no blockage at the colon and there was fecal matter in the intestines. As we waited for the bill, Robin gave me a nice portfolio for all of my dog’s medical documents, in my favorite color too, forest green :). She also threw in some treats and a free Advantage Flea Killer! I could tell that Robin was just as happy as I was and I felt so comforted and relieved. To my surprise, my bill for everything was only $ 181.67, which was so great because I had just paid over $ 2,000 at Crossroads and Hollydale. On my way out, I just felt so much gratitude towards everyone at Thomas Vet Hospital. Robin gave me a hug and I was filled with so much optimism after enduring so much stress the previous 48 hours.
When we got home, I was ecstatic to see that my dog LOVED the food! (My other dog loved it too and managed to get a few bites when he wasn’t looking). The following morning (7÷15÷2015), Dr. Shargani called me to see how my dog was doing which I thought was very nice since I didn’t expect that. He told me not to walk him that day and to try and get a sample of poop. He hadn’t pooped in almost 24 hours so I was still a little worried. However, later that night, my sister took him for a walk and told me he had pooped!!! So I grabbed a baggie saved it! I almost feel like getting it bronzed or something. Today (7÷16÷2015) Dr. Shargani called me again and I gave him the great news. He told me to finish the antibiotics and to see him on Saturday with a stool sample.
I am so thankful to everyone at Thomas Veterinary Hospital. They saved my dog from being put down. I am so grateful for Robin and Dr. Shargani and their staff for everything they’ve done for us so far. We’ve definitely found our regular Vet home.

I’m torn about writing a less than stellar review about this place because everyone seems to love it.
I took my very old (13yrs) staff/​terrier mix, Sparky, into this place because he was limping and a little stiff. He’s very old and has had a TPLO (basically knee replacement) so i was just looking for some anti inflammatories and pain reliever.
The Indian/​middle eastern vet gave me a bunch of crap for dog joints and tried to tell me that his remedies would basically fill in holes in bones (riiiiight). I asked if it would relieve pressure and allow Sparky some comfort that straight up pain medication wouldn’t. The Dr said yes.
When i went out front to pay for my visit the older woman at the desk told me my bill was almost $ 500! I asked to see the itemized list of services and medicines and she immediately said something to the effect of «oopsie, my long fingernail hit $ 119 instead of $ 19 for a medicine». I asked again to see the itemized bill before paying. Even with a discount for being a first time patient the prices for testing and medicines was higher than my old vet in Rancho Palos Verdes! I paid the bill and left with a bunch of crap that did not sooth my poor old dogs limps and aches.
I should have followed my instincts and said no to their «meds» and just gave him low dose aspirin that i know will work for him.
Its been about a month since Sparky’s visit and all of the «meds» and supplements the Dr gave him are gone. He is in no better shape than he was before his visit to Thomas veterinary clinic. I would advise all pet owners to ask questions and make sure what this clinic is selling is really something your pet genuinely needs. Next time i will make the drive to our old vet because i trust them and have seen results from their treatments.

I brought in our new Great Dane puppy, Brook, and let me just say this place is PERFECT! I was worried that I would have to pour out a couple hundred dollars as I had experienced in other clinics with no results. I am very happy to say that this was not the case!!! Very affordable rates and the doctor only recommends what you need… no extra unnecessary products and charges… I have NEVER paid a vet bill with a smile on my face but today this place made that a first! Very upfront and very friendly staff! There was no wait at all and the entire facility was very clean. I am happy to say that I have found my new permanent vet! Highly recommend this place to everyone you won’t be disappointed!!!

I absolutely am thankful for Thomas veterinary. They have superb customer service, fair prices, and quality care.
Unfortunately, my cat Delilah was attacked by a dog and did not make it. It was very tough, but robin and her colleagues were all very empathetic and answered all the questions I had. They also provided me with the cremation service for my Delilah.
I have three other pets and if any of them need medical care I never hesitate to bring them here. Also, there’s never a wait time. Very convenient for me since I’m always on the go.

I really really like this vet. They were speedy and very nice and helpful to me, being a walk in, getting my puppies first shots. They will be my main veterinarian for my little Salem.
Update: second set of shots and all is good. Such a family atmosphere. The receptionist was kinda nerdy, but in a real cute way. ;-)
I will take all my puppies and animals there.
