I was lucky enough to be introduced to Gilbert Cerda a number of years ago, and have found him to be amazingly organized, a characteristic I don’t have. Mr. Cerda has saved me literally thousands of dollars in taxes two years in a row. Besides my overall financial planning, I now have him preparing my tax returns for that reason.
Mr. Cerda is extremely knowledgeable in his field and has proven that to me many times.

Finding and Hiring (yes, they work for you!) a trustworthy financial advisor that puts you first and not the commission they are getting on the back end from one of their many vendors is DIFFICULT. I want to share my story on how I found my advisors
My first encounter with Cerda Munoz Advisors was at 3^rd St Coffee. As I prepared my coffee, their business card was on the wall with the other thousand businesses in Downey. The card caught my attention as it looked like it had a halo logo so I wasn’t sure if this was some sort of fellowship or life skills business. Regardless, I decided to do some research and realized they provide advice on managing your wealth. Ironically that same week I got a letter from my previous employer regarding my 401k and immediately I remembered Cerda Munoz Advisors and decided to schedule an appointment to discuss rolling over my 401k.
On my initial consultation I met with Gilbert Cerda. Gilbert started the appointment by discussing exactly who they were, how they handle your business (and theirs), and most importantly the fees involved. Needless to say, within the first few minutes I realized how transparent Gilbert Cerda was. Gilbert talked about his family, his goals, Company philosophy and investment strategies. (he doesn’t know this but) My ONLY expectation that day was to determine his transparency. Once I felt like I knew exactly what was going on, I began to make room for some Trust.
So…
I decided to take the information he shared and made a 2^nd appointment two weeks later.
But…
During that time I went to my primary bank and discussed rolling over my 401k.
The appointment was a complete disappointment. I figured the bank representative should be able to provide the same or better information than a small local business. However, the transparency was not present (non-​existent). Majority of the appointment was about the bank and never about my goals.
Long story longer, I decided to hire Cerda Munoz Advisors for the mere fact that they are Transparent, Knowledgeable, Trustworthy and they made me feel empowered to make my own decisions.
