All Creatures Great and Small Veterinary Practice

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this vet! After receiving no help from Hinsdale Animal Hospital, I went to this office for a second opinion for my Chihuahua. First, everyone is so friendly when you check in. And there was no wait (even though I was early), and we met with Dr. Murnighan and his assistant. He couldn’t have been nicer and seemed just as concerned about my dog as I was! The assistant was so wonderful and caring too! When in the room, I was seated with my dog on my lap, and Dr. Murnighan squatted down so that he was at our level and my dog was comfortable. They did several tests, and said he would get back to me when the results came in. He also gave me his email and cell phone number if I had any questions. He called the next day with the results and even dropped off some antibiotics in my home mailbox. What customer service! Finally, I was able to get a diagnosis for my dog and treat him. My dog had gone months suffering without the proper antibiotic at Hinsdale Animal Hospital. I would HIGHLY recommend this veterinary practice, and I would never go anywhere else again!!!

I have never in my life written a review, however I was so over the moon impressed by Dr. Andrew Eisenberg and his team I couldn’t resist. I normally dread taking my dog to the vet, in the past she comes home drowsy and I come home feeling swindled, but not this time. Maci was a ball of energy, so much so I followed up to see if her reaction was normal. Dr Eisenberg was knowledgeable about her breed, and gave me amazing advice! NOT ONCE did I feel like he was trying to sell me on something, which was very refreshing. The whole staff was very kind and gentle. I have spent hours at the vet offices waiting on someone to even come in the room, even on occasions when Maci was really sick, but from the moment I walked in to the (extremely charming) office I was taken care of, I never felt like I was waiting.
This was such an amazing experience, I got in my car and texted everyone I knew that had animals, to tell them they should make an appointment. I live in the city, but Dr. Eisenberg was worth the trip to Downer’s Grove!

Amazing experience! We brought home a kitten that was found underneath a deck at an apartment complex, wanted to get the little guy or gal checked out. Dr. Murnighan was so incredible with the little guy (confirmed) and so helpful to us. I left feeling so relaxed and happy that we had a healthy new addition to our family. We both have never had pets of our own, but Dr. Murnighan totally put us at ease. Can’t say enough good things about this place as a whole. So happy we decided to come here, all the good reviews are well deserved! I’ve read about some other vets not being «cat vets», this was not our experience at all, Dr. Murnighan held our kitty the entire time and loved him! Highly recommend!

Best vets in the area no doubt. They absolutely love your pets as much as you. They have now saved my beagle butts butt 2 times. She got sick last year and now again this year. Ate something and this year suffered pyometra. Shame on me for being that dumb owner but never once did they judge. Only help. They are always busy but wait times are short. The front staff is kind. Pricing is normal for vet care and they work with you on options too. If you love your pet go here!!!

I recently got fed up with Banfield and switched to All Creatures Great and Small. I am so glad I switched! Dr. Murnighan has been so good to me and my cat, Munch. We recently went through the process of creating a proper medication routine for Munch’s heart problems. Dr. Murnighan answered all my panicked pet-​mom questions with compassion and patience.
The staff is cheerful and they are quick to return phone calls if you leave a message. I couldn’t ask for better service!

I am a fairly new client here. I was looking for a new vet after being with my longstanding vet for 25 + years. It is always hard for me to adjust to new doctor/​vet relationships. I have to say I felt right at home the first time I took my dogs and cats. The staff is so super friendly and so gentle and sweet when they deal with my pets. It’s nice having a vet tech in the room during exams as well. I recently was out of town when my cat accidentally ate my dog’s pain med. She was very ill and my daughter brought her in to the office. The whole time I was worried sick being so far from home but the docs kept me up to date with frequent calls about her condition. I felt very comforted knowing she was in good hands and we were working together long distance to get her well. They never rush and always take ample time to explain everything thoroughly and answer all questions. I drive 30 mins from Chicago to go here and it’s well worth my time.

We have been bringing our two cats here for a few years, not too many times thankfully, but every time we get great service and a caring, professional staff who treat our furbabies with love and attention and care. Our Stewie was sick with a fever and we took him to the emergency vet in Lisle, with a follow up at All Creatures, and they fixed him right up. Our Checkers also had an ER visit in Lisle with a follow up at All Creatures and she was also fixed up and now both of them are happy and healthy. I am so grateful to know that All Creatures is there because we have taken both cats to different vets who were rude and uncaring and cold. Thank you All Creatures for being the best vet around!

Dr. Murnighan is accommodating and kind. The front desk staff are sweet, thoughtful, and considerate. All in all, I wouldn’t take my pets anywhere else.

I cannot say enough good things about All Creatures, especially Dr. Murnighan. When my bulldog puppy, Stanley was about 12 weeks ago he developed cherry eye. After getting the run around at a vet in Oak Park with unnecessary and expensive appointments and eye drops, I turned to Unilocal for other options. I’m so glad I did. Downers Grove isn’t necessarily convenient but I will continue to make the trip because of the excellent care Stanley has received. After the surgery, Dr. Murnighan was great about encouraging me to email with updates on progress of the eye and always got back to me in a timely manner when I had questions. He even offered to personally deliver eye drops to me at my home when there was a mix up with the ones I had picked up at the office. Fast forward a few months and Stanley had to have two additional surgeries to correct the other eye. His concern for Stanley remained the same and I really appreciated him treating my little guy like I do. Not only were all of the surgeries reasonably priced, Dr. Murnighan was always up front with me on costs, which I really appreciated after the bad experience I had with the initial vet. Now almost 3 months since the last surgery and you can’t even tell Stanley had eye issues. I would definitely recommend All Creatures for people that love their pets like family and want good, quality care without breaking the bank. Thanks for everything!

Of all the veterinarians that I have taken my dog to All Creatures has been the only place that has been able to handle him effectively. My pup is quite aggressive, but somehow Dr. Bowes has found a way in which to calm him down and take care of any aliments that he may have. The staff is friendly and appointments are easy to schedule. Definitely the best practice we have visited in the area! I am very pleased with the service and have recommended it to several of my friends.

I came in as a new patient, and my 7 year old dog needed his annual physical, rabies, and distemper vaccine. I also had concerns with his skin (an ongoing problem), and one of his teeth that was really loose and rotting (gross I know).
The vaccines were priced at reasonable rates; I called other vets and it was the same.
The tooth, my biggest concern, I asked if the vet could just numb it and pull it out. Dr. Murninghan took my dog back and said’ «I’ll see what I can do.» He comes back a few minutes later with my dog’s tooth gone! He said it came out easy and my dog didn’t even cry!
I was so so relieved that Dr. Murninghan took care of the tooth like that! My previous vet in Lombard wanted over $ 1000 to knock the dog out and extract the teeth!
I was sent home with meds for my dog’s skin, and a much happier pet. My dog was so so happy with his bad tooth gone; when we got home he was running around like a wild man! And I was super happy too, with the bill just over $ 200 for everything, and a super happy pet.

I was referred here by nearly all my dog-​owner friends. Because the practice is so popular, I was afraid it would be hard to get in for an appointment, but no problems. I’m very happy with our choice and so is our puppy. We have seen Dr. Bowes and she is smart, patient, thorough, and kind.
Prices seem fair and so far the level of care had been excellent. Highly recommend!

I brought my white fronted Amazon parrot in because she was having fainting spells. I had never been to this vet but was impressed with the reviews. The staff was friendly, the diagnosis was accurate and prices were reasonable. My parrot now takes calcium supplements and is doing quite well, even busier and nosier than she was before. My only complaint is the distance. I live in Berwyn and it was a long drive for a parrot that does not like to travel!

This is the MOST caring, professional and accommodating vet practice I’ve ever encountered. My dog is 17 years old and the care she receives has always been kind and thoughtful. She is the 4^th dog I’ve had in my life and I’ll never go anywhere else, even though I now live quite a distance away. I think you have to feel real trust and a type of partnership with your vet… and I have that here!

In February we adopted the sweetest dog around. (I know, everyone thinks their dog is the best. Ours actually is.) Link is a 15-​lb ball of fluffy love (also a lhasa-​poodle mix).
Of course, pets mean vets. At a bare minimum we want to keep our furry baby healthy and free from parasites and such forth.
Well, All Creatures was a great choice to take care of our pup. Everyone at the office loved him, Dr. Eisenberg was just great, gave us all the info we needed, and the fees were very reasonable. While I hope we don’t have to come here too often (because nobody likes being sick or seeing their pets sick), I won’t hesitate to bring Link in when he needs some medical attention.

They won me over immediately! They loved on my dog almost as much as I do. They also sent me a hand written note letting me know that they appreciated my business and would follow up with me. Who does that!!! I love it!

This is our vet, and we are so lucky! Katie, my boxer loves going here. Unfortunately, we are frequent flyers here because Katie has chronic conditions. I trust the doctors and staff here. I wish they could be my doctors as well!

This is a long time coming!
I have been going to Dr. Jim for years and when he came to all creatures I followed. I’ve always had wonderful service here, from the last minute appointments that we needed to the different treatment options that were available within our budget. Every question was answered, every email was responded to and every call was returned. All promptly and with kindness and care!
Dr. Jim Murnighan is the BEST and was so kind, patient and giving if his time during our Emma’s last days. Thank you for all that you did!
