Cottage by the Bay

I held my wedding here in June 2009. First the pros; it is a beautiful, country location and the «cottage» is not fancy but cute, with nice wood floors inside and a great deck outback overlooking a patio. The overall grounds are nice, although some of the plants/​flowers surrounding the gazebo were overgrown and could have used a trim.
Another big plus here is the food is a good value. I opted for the buffet with fish, chicken and prime rib. Food was decent, nothing amazing but worth what we payed. Fish portion was small so vegetarians may go hungry.
Now the big cons; THE STAFF! Was told I would have a wedding coordinater but nobody helped me at all that day. No one assists you with a rehearsal of the ceremony or attempts to coordinate any part of your ceremony the day of your wedding. It is a long walk across a lawn to the gazebo and I had to guess when/​which path to walk. The staff never called my guests up to eat so a guitar player from my band had to! The line for the bar was SOO long and when my guests complained they blamed us for not hiring enough staff, an issue they never addressed when planing. I was also told I had extra guests show up and would have to pay (in the end not true). One table had all their drinks/​salad dumped and the young waitress ran away never to return with more salad or offer replacement drinks.
A few more things to note. Very strict policy with no alcohol in driveway, which I think is reasonable but I had two guest kicked out when one was drinking a beer when he showed up and we were told that night we would not be getting our deposit back (we did in the end). Also they dont allow anyone onto the grounds until an hour before your wedding so it can be hard for bands, florists, decorations etc.
