Hmm… Let me just start with the cold, unwelcomed greeting that we received upon entering this restaurant! I don’t know if the hostess had a bad day, or if she didn’t want to work that day, or if she didn’t want us there. All I know is, she glared at us when we came in, she did not smile, and she had her hand on her hip as if to say, ‘what the heck are you doing here!’ Be that as it may, she seated us, and told us to enjoy our meal. Our waitress was friendly, and attentive. I ordered an open face pot roast with mac n cheese, fried okra, and a side salad. When the restaurant manager brought out my salad, we took the time to inform him of our cold unwelcomed greeting. He apologized, and said that he would rectify the situation. Now, my food was pretty good. They ran out of ribs, so my daughter had to choose something else. She ordered the fried chicken, in which she said it was good. My son had no complaints with the taste of his chicken fingers. My husband ordered pulled pork. He said the pork didn’t taste good, and it looked extremely dry. He informed our waitress. Not only did she take his meal off the bill, but he was also allowed to get another entrée and 2 extra banana puddings free of charge! Even though his meal was comped, our overall experience here was not a pleasant one. I don’t think we will ever return to this location.

Had not been to Folks for quite a while and was hesitant to go, as I was never really impressed with my previous visits but my wife wanted to stop by here and so we did. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. The service was very good. Our server was very courteous and fast. The food was all well presented and tasted excellent and the portions were more then adequate to fill you up. For the price, our meals were good value for money and I will be back here again. My only gripe which is minor and the only thing that prevented me from giving them top marks was that our server never did bring the appetizer I ordered but neither did she charge me for it and so no harm no foul.

Honey we had the best service and don’t get me started on the food. Real southern cooking. Them dang peach muffins will make u slap your mama then after she whoops your butt for slapping her, turn around and slap her again. I ain’t lying. As we backwoods country folks like to say«they put their foot in that food» or as Birdman would say THEYPUTSOMERESPECK’ ONIT. Now stop eating that vegan kale mess and go get some real food.

At first I wasn’t sure I wanted to go because of the previous reviews but I did and it was great! My fiancé loved the chicken… I had the steak and gravy and my picky son had the chicken fingers. The waitress was prompt and curteous and the manager stopped by to check on us. It was a great experience.

Best veggies I’ve had in a long time. The turnip greens were fresh. Peach muffins were yummy. Sweet potato and squash casseroles, along with the cinnamon apples, were tasty. Just what I was looking for.

Got tired of waiting on service, did not even order so I can’t say anything about the food, they were not that busy.

Food was good. Service was sorely lacking. Had to wait 1 ½ hours from time of arrival till we got our food. Watched people come and go as we sat waiting. :( Seemed poorly managed.

This place has really gone down, my husband and I went there yesterday and no one asked *May I help you or someone will be with you shortly”. It was two women behind the register and four servers went by us. I felt like I was back in King’s time. We will not be back. I hope they close or get a whole new staff. Smh!

Sad and dirty. «Let me see if I can find you a clean table» said the hostess. This place once had the best fried chicken around, but no longer. On the table was a sticky desert menu, just what you want to encounter when you first sit down to a dinner table.

It’s been two years since we have eaten here. Service and food is much better. Ask for Mary A. as your server!!! We will be back.

Went here on a Sunday at 3pm there was a wait. Didn’t understand why there were empty booths and tables. My 83 year old father was with us and has trouble walking and standing so I asked for a chair. They looked at me like I had asked for money but got the chair. After waiting for 20 minutes we were told they had a table but it was in the back. I asked the hostess what was wrong with the table right in front. She removed a tray from it and we sat there. Server came quickly to get our drinks. After we ordered it took forever to get the food. But while we were waiting a server came behind me with a large tray of food and instead of excuse me I got«watch your head» really? I have been a server before and would have never treated a guest this way. And when we got drink refills server reached across my face every time. Was glad to get refills though. Will never go back here again. Was trying something different from golden corral but for the money and service golden corral WINS! We could even hear the cook yelling for servers to pick up food. Oh forgot this large table was used for all the dirty dishes and when they started to clean it they dropped a glass and ice was all over floor. Instead of getting the broom and dust pan that was leaning against the wall the server kicked ice across the floor.

I had fried catfish. Crispy on the outside, flakey on the inside. Broccoli was cooked perfect al dente. The store was not very busy. The food came out slow but it was worth waiting for.

Okay. It’s been a while since I’d visited a Folks. I’ve been there since it changed from Po Folks, but it’s been a good 3 years since my last visit. And I must say that I was very pleased. The ambience is still the same, a little bit country. We stopped because I said I’d treat for the next dinner. I had a coupon to buy an entrée and two sodas and get 50% off the second entrée so I thought we’d try it. I had Fried fish(Catfish I think), Fried Chicken Breast, my vegetables were Mac N Cheese and Chicken and Dumplings. Yes I said Veggies and according to the menu these are VEGETABLES, so Hmmm to you smarty pants!!! Anyway, who in their right minds can dislike a place that has non vegetables as your veggie??? Only a crazy person. I wish this menu was around when I was a kid!!! My Boo #2 ordered Ribs(Cost EXTRA of course), baked Chicken, Dressing and Mac N Cheese… WAIT, what am I thinking this I need to interrupt this review to make a PUBLICSERVICEANNOUNCEMENT!!! They NOLONGER bring you a BASKET of the Yummy PEACHMUFFINS. Now you ONLY get ONEDAMNMUFFIN. What in the world is this about??? I was not happy about this. The muffin is part of the reason that I picked this place… I ordered a Sweet Tea what was WONderFul! My fried Chicken Breast was PERFECT. Seasoned well, fried right, not greasy, split in half for a lovely presentation. I thought I was having a dream for a second there! The fish was also very well cooked. A little greasy but it was seasoned and first just right! I WASVERYPLEASEDWITHMYMEAL. My Boo liked everything but the baked chicken. Which I told him was going to be dry. Not sure why I remembered that from 3 years ago, but I did and it hadn’t changed a bit. It was still dry. The waiter was nice and friendly. The place, including both restrooms was clean. If you haven’t gone in a while, I hope that you will stop by and I hope that you are pleasantly surprised by your meal.

Went here for Easter. It was okay. Food comparable to that of Old Country Buffet. I think for the money I’d go to OCB where I can have a buffet selection.

I’m for sure most have been to this place. Pretty bland. We went on a Sunday for a family outing and I wished I would have cooked at home. I thought I was getting an all you can eat but I was told otherwise. The food was bland and seemed to be half cooked. My brother-in-law ordered the same thing but yet he got an all you can eat. ??? The service was slow and if you have to use the restroom, please beware. My wife went to the restroom and could not get in because of the smell. The waitreess stated that they probably had not been cleaned that day! I would not be going back to this place…
