This Grimaldi’s is based on the one under the Brooklyn bridge, obviously this isn’t the same but that’s not necessarily a bad thing since you won’t have to deal with huge lines here, an important thing to note is that this place is cash only and there are no slices sold here, it is a nice spacious restaurant with plenty of seating and nice ambiance, the pizza itself is really tasty, one small salad and one small pizza can feed two people, this is great place to come to where you can get a good quality brick oven in a casual setting, I have been here several times and I’ll be back

The place is average with average pizza. Nothing special. They seat you on a tablecloth table and when you leave seat the next people at the same table with the same tablecloth. Not sanitary to say the least.

Cash Only! But if you have been to another Grimaldi location you would know this already. Always has seats available, staff is super attentive and their pies always come out quickly. I recommended their Cesar salad as an appetizer choice. My favorite part are the large slices of Parmesan cheese. And remember! snap a photo before you eat it

Great pies, gorgeous crust and sauce — my only comPlaint is the refusal to box the to go orders. Instead they wrap it in paper that retains NO heat. Fix that and I add a star.

This is a true story. Grimaldis has pretty damn good thin crust pizza. It’s a 4 star rating pizza, but here’s the skinny. You should only go there on weekday nights with the free pizza coupon. Now here’s the story. I went there with a friend once. We ordered a pie of sausage and we awaited it to come out. The waiter comes out and presents a nice big salad in front of us. I found it odd. I had been there before and was never presented a salad. I questioned it however my friend did not. He insisted it was complementary. 10 minutes passed and the waiter came running out screaming at us saying we didn’t order the salad and we should have said something. Time for the bill, the salad was included on the bill. I left cash and tip for the pizza but not that salad. Service, presentation and environment gets 1 star. Seriously. It’s always a pain to go there and is never pleasant experience physically. The pizza is however extremely good. It’s 4 star pizza, 1 star joint. 3 stars overall. Mama cannot hate on the slice at the end of the day. That’s the dough maker!

This is definitely one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. I ordered a regular with pepperoni and it was perfect. It had just the right amount of cheese, tomato sauce, and thick pepperoni. Forget all the other pizza places, next time I need a pie I’m coming here! Remember, cash only and pies only(no slices).

Cash only. Pies only — no slices. No problem! You definitely can put down a whole pie with no problem. The brick oven pizza here is amazing and the toppings here are worth the extra $ 2. They really lay it on. The salads are great too. Upscale pizzeria with a cute décor. You will feel like you are sitting in an old pizza parlor under the Brooklyn Bridge. Be on the look out for the coupons in the Valpak that gets delivered monthly. Buy one pie, get one free!

Well I’ve been here twice now and haven’t been disappointed yet. Both times I used the groupon deal which really lets us go crazy and order more. Heh ;) As soon as my posse and I walked in, we were greeted immediately and seated promptly. We ordered the regular pie with pepperoni, italian sausage, basil, and extra mozz. The second time I went, I also got a white pie along with the regular pie. Both were pretty good to my standards. Except the marinara sauce is a bit watery compared to what I usually prefer. And after the 3rd-4th slice, the pizza starts feeling a bit one-note and extremely chewy [?] LOL But I really like their thin crusts and slightly burnt bottoms. Gives a smoky flavor to the pizza which I don’t mind at all. I would still come back though bc most common italian pizzerias in LI don’t do pizza’s like Grimaldi’s does.

Grimaldi’s is a Brooklyn favorite of mine and when we moved here to Queens I had no idea I was so close to another one. The atmosphere in Brooklyn is much better but that’s due to location. The Douglaston Shop is very dull but the pizza is the same delicious pizza they are known for. I’m hooked on this pizza! I only gave it 4 stars because I don’t like the Douglaston location. It feels like a cafeteria. But man oh man is the pizza worth it. Yum!!!

I love the pizza from here ! It’s super thin & delicious. After eating several slices I don’t get the bloated feeling I usually get from eating from your typical pizzeria . The reason for 3 starts rather than 4 is because they don’t accept credit cards ! I NEVER have cash on me and I avoid paying the ATM to take out MY own money. Major inconvenience!

Fantastic pizza. There was a long line and we have found in NYC that long lines are an indication of good food so we braved the line for 20 minutes, totally worth it! Thin crust so between 4 of us we ate a small and large pizza, granted we were both very hungry, but it was great. And for $ 45+tip for 2 pizzas under the Brooklyn Bridge and with a 5 minute walk to the Promenade after, it was a great experience.

A popular pizza chain that doesn’t have atrocious long lines and wait times? I’m sold! I heard a lot about Grimaldi’s and had no idea this location existed till a friend took us here. It’s great that we didn’t have a ridiculous wait like other locations. Would I wait one hour for this pizza? Unless I have a dire need to have it, then no. The staff is friendly here and was very accommodating to our table requests. The restaurant layout is awkward so I feel for anyone who has to sit at the tables near the door. We ordered the caprese salad, large pizza pie with pepperoni and onions and another large pie with Italian sausage and mushrooms. For four adults and two children, this was the perfect amount of food! The pizza, surprisingly, didn’t feel heavy and we could actually have more than two slices! It’s more on the side of a thin crust pizza. It’s freshly baked, straight out of the oven, and already comes topped with fresh mozzarella and basil. The salad was fine and well seasoned/dressed. I wasn’t crazy about the Italian sausage and mushroom pizza — it lacked flavor. I think I noticed that more because I had the pepperoni and onion slice first and that was delicious! SO much flavor and great pairing. Pricing isn’t bad for a popular chain. Three orders of food and drinks were still around $ 60. Would I come back? Sure. If I’m craving a specific pizza with delicious pepperoni and onions, this is the spot.

Amazing pies as usual. The best I’ve had in LI or Queens. Kind of surprised that the place wasn’t busier. Maybe not as good as the Hoboken or Brooklyn location’s. Maybe something is different about the ovens, but still very consistent overall compared to the other locations. The sauce, crust and cheese blend is perfection. And the pie comes usually just a few minutes after you order. They are really locked and loaded here. The only reason I cant give them a 5 star rating is that the dining rooms are kind of dark and dingy and the floors were kind of dirty. But we still thoroughly enjoyed the place and pies were excellent.

I had my first Grimaldi’s pizza ever last year. My friend decided to take me to have some since I’ve always wanted to try it. I’m lactose intolerant so I can’t really have any dairy but, this was an exception. We found out that Grimaldi’s had recently opened in Douglaston Plaza, Queens. So I was pretty excited to check it out. We ordered the chicken salad which came on a huge plate. We also ordered the brick oven thin crust pizza with toppings of basil, jalapeño, sausage & pepperoni. It was delicious. Who doesn’t love pizza? Especially when they are freshly made. This location has lost of parking so you will never have to worry about finding a space. The restaurant is a bit on the small side, but there is enough space to dine in comfortably. We willl definitely be coming back here.

My one experience at Grimaldi’s was pretty good. I came for an early dinner with my parents, and we shared a pie, half cheese, half mushroom. Not bad! Nice and hot, fresh outta the oven. Family-style, thin crust pizza with fresh ingredients! They could’ve added a little more mushroom though, but overall, pizza was on point! By the end of dinner. I had devoured 6 slices on my own. crust and all. If I was REALLY hungry. No doubt I would be able to finish a pie. loll I wanna come back next time and try more of their toppings!

Great friggin pizza. No doubt about it. I’ve been to the original Grimaldi’s in Brooklyn Heights a few times. I’ve always disliked the line and wait time but the pizza was always on point. Crunchy thin crust brick oven pizza topped with fresh slices of mozzarella and basil. This one in Douglaston is no different. Same perfection you’ll get from the one in Brooklyn. Besides the pizza, we also ordered their fresh mozzarella with sliced tomatoes. It was really good with their vinegar. What I really enjoyed was dipping the crust of the pizza in some of their vinegar. Their crust is almost like a cracker. With a light touch of vinegar, it’s goes really well together. Verdict — What is there not to like about Grimaldi’s? They don’t accept credit card, still cash only. Other than that, this location is great. The parking lot is a godsend! I could never find a parking spot in Brooklyn Heights! The alternate side parking hours over there are INSANE! From now on, I’m sticking with this one in Douglaston.

Cash only! Dine in or order out. There’s an ATM in front of their door if you’re short on cash or visit the BOA atm branch next door. Ample seating area and a large parking lot outside the mall area. Service is pretty attentive and quick. When ordering out, there’s small waiting area by the kitchen with chairs while waiting for your order. Regular pies are around $ 15, and toppings cost usually $ 2 or $ 4 depending on what you get. Takes about 15 — 20 minutes for the pizza to be done. Just like in Brooklyn, the original spot, this location uses a cheap round cardboard where your pizza sits on-top and into a paper bag sleeve when you order to go. I don’t really have any complaints since the pizza is still intact after a voyage in the car. Pizza is nice and crispy, thin, and cooked perfectly. One star off for only accepting cash, no deliveries, and no credit cards! cmon, I want to at least rack some credit card points while dining out… and its 2015! Get with the times already… unless they got some undocumented workers and cash is used to pay under the table or skip on some taxes… then I might understand.

This place has some of the best pizza I’ve ever tasted. Also I don’t know why, but the water on tap is especially good here. Something about the simplicity and freshness of ingredients that leave me always left wondering how I ever thought California Pizza Kitchen was considered real pizza. I thought pizza were the ones you get at Costco, or little Caesar’s hot and readys. I was a Californian noob. New York forgive me.

I’ve been to the Brooklyn location AND the Douglaston one. The pizza literally tastes the same here and in BK. The one in Brooklyn is always packed though because its a big tourist spot. The staff here are nice, but what I noticed is that they need to be more attentive to their customers. Last time I ate here with a friend, we had the check with my credit card in it, sitting there for a good twenty minutes before I had to call the waiter over and say«HEYTAKEMYMONEYWHYDONTYA?!» Just kidding, but I did say«Hey, can you please take this check for us?» Customer service is really big for me since I worked in retail, and dealing with customer service for several years. Overall, the place is nice. It’s a little small but definitely cozy. And oh! The place is clean! That’s a plus. I had wings here one time too… that was freakin good! The salads are yummy and the pizza is awesome-sauce! I put way too much hot pepper flakes and garlic on my slices but hey it’s not like I’m going to be making out with anyone anyways. Overall, I would 100% recommend this place to friends and will definitely come back.

Heard of Grimaldi’s pizza a million times in my life but never really wanted to venture into Brooklyn for pizza but today Grimaldi found me. First of all, I never knew this location existed until I went to Fairway market in Douglaston and saw Grimaldi’s right across the street from the parking lot. At first I though it was probably not the same chain but after further investigation aka GOOGLE– I realize this is actually the same chain as the original Grimaldi and that’s when I went OMGGGG cause I live 5 minutes from this location. Grimaldi is actually located inside the Douglaston Plaza Shopping center, on the first level– right across the street from the entrance to Fairway Market and right next to the Bank of America ATM. Parking: It gets crazy on the weekend so if you have problem finding a parking on the 1st level, just drive and park up 1 level then take the stairs down. Décor and ambiance: It is exactly what you see on their gallery– somewhat dim lighting, wooden table and red and white plaid tablecloth. The main dining area was roomy(I didn’t get to walk to the back but the main area can probably seat around 40 people) and the seats were comfortable(especially the booth, makes you want to lie down and take a nap) and the tables were pretty far apart so you won’t have to listen to the break up conversation that’s going on at the next table. We came here on a Sunday afternoon at around 3:00pm and the place was semi full but we got seated right away. They have a very limited menu which was fine because you come here for one thing and ONETHINGONLY– NACHOS — jk! PIZZA it is! Altogether the 10 of us got 4 large pies to share and it was plenty(we even got some heavy hitters in the group) — 2 pepperoni, 1 mushroom/sausage and 1 margarita. After about 15 minutes– our pizzas came bubbling HOT, I quickly grab a slice of the pepperoni and put it in my mouth. OUCH burn my lips pretty bad, lesson learned– do not pop it into your mouth right away! but dang that flavor was pretty amazing, the tomato paste tasted fresh and clean, very sweet. the dough was chewy and had a good crunch at the same time but the best was the fresh mozzarella cheese– it was so creamy, had a chewy texture but yet still melts in your mouth good! The toppings were excellent but I think I would have been very satisfy if I have just extra mozzarella cheese on my pizza. btw did I mention the pies were pretty big, I think there’s at least 10 – 12 slices in each one, about the same as what you would get from a regular pizzeria.(NOTUNO) Service: our server was quite attentive and came to see how we are doing as well as fill our water every once in a while. Price: Average– The large regular is $ 15 and the small regular is $ 13– each topping will run you around $ 2-$ 4 each, total you are looking at maybe $ 17 for a one topping large pie. I think that’s quite fair consider the quality of pizza you get from this place. If you are willing to pay $ 12 for Papa Johns/Pizza Hut, I think this place is well worth the price. Overall: I wish I discover this place a little sooner but I guess it’s not too late. The pizzas are great, service is good and the price reasonable. I will definitely come back to try their roasted sweet pepper pizza. When you come just make sure you gather some friends so you can try a variety of pizzas or you can try to take a whole pie down yourself but either way, you will have a great time unless you are lactose then good luck my friend!
