History

Established in 2001.

In December of 2001, John Mitchell joined forces with Mike Schmitz and started Toyota of Dothan and a brand new era began for Toyota in the Wiregrass area. This was a very exciting venture because it blended two very talented dealer principals with the best franchise-TOYOTA. This meant not only an outstanding vehicle selection but parts and service departments that are second to none and customer satisfaction at its highest levels. Shop with us and we’re confident you will agree. Mr. Mitchell has since become our sole dealer principal. We are proud to take our place in the Mitchell Auto Group.

I have taken my 10 yr old 4Runner in for service and the occasional odd repair and I was EXTREMELY impressed with their service department. They take the time to thoroughly explain the repair, process, costs associated, etc… I’ve had several cars over the years and this service department and customer service is outstanding.

I purchased a 2014 Camry SE from this dealership and from the start it seemed as if this would be a smooth transaction. The salesmen were all super nice and patient. They financially approved me to pick out any 2014 Camry SE model I wanted in any color. After choosing the one I wanted and waiting an hour or so to sign the papers, things started to go down hill FAST. First let me say that the salesman are awesome, the middle management are pathetic and I’ve never had anybody lie to my face and then tell me, after getting it in writing, that I was a liar. I wanted Limo tint and they said they would send it out to get tinted and all I had to do was sign a waiver. So after getting it put on the «we owe» form we went to the waiting area until the tint was done. After waiting awhile we were informed that the tint was getting done but they couldn’t do the limo tint and that we were never told that they would and so after that we left and vowed to drive to Panama City Toyota for our next Toyota.

Worst sales experience I’ve dealt with buying a vehicle. The sales manager lied to me about the amount they would give me for my trade in. When it came to the actual number they’d pay it changed $ 6,500. They lied to keep me in the show room and wasted about 2 hours of my time. I would never buy a coffee let alone a vehicle from this shady dealership.

I bought a used 2007 Toyota 4Runner Limited from them in May of 2010. Wait let me back up, my pregnant wife and I bought that car from them. We were trading in a Dodge Dakota 4×4 pickup truck, since the baby was coming, the truck had to go. They showed us several SUVs, but the one we decided on was the «practically new 2007 that just came in.» They sold us the car for $ 3000 over the blue book value, but wait it gets better. The Car Fax that they showed us didn’t match the car they sold us. When did I find this out? I found this out two weeks ago, when I tried to trade in the vehicle. The Car Fax the Ford dealership showed us stated that it was in an accident. It’s now October 2012. I quickly went back to my paper work from the Dothan sale and noticed it; the Car Fax in my paperwork was for another vehicle we were considering at the same time. Everything was the same, make, model, and color. I didn’t look that closely at the VIN and year. Silly me. There is a sucker born every minute. That minute it was me.
In short, this place is full high-pressure sales men and tricky used car salemen tactics. I’m sure they will have a witty and well thought out reply to this posting. I expect nothing less from this shady car dealership. In closing, if you are an honest person, in the military, or just a good human being avoid this dealership like the plague. As for me, I am done with Toyota all together, since this is the second one I’ve dealt with that has screwed me over, you’re next Lustine Toyota of Woodridge, VA.

Probably the most memorable commercials ever! If you are looking for better gas mileage due to high gas prices I’d recommend you stop at Toyota of Dothan.
