Specialties

We have an enormous selection of domestic and imported beers, as well as a great selection of craft beers (150 different crafts) all served cold in our gigantic 33-​door cooler. We have an incredible selection of fine wines (over 450 different brands), and also offer a 4-​door cooler of cold white wines and champagnes (over 150 to be exact). You also have to check out our «2 for» wine specials section with over 100 different wines! We host wine tastings every Friday as well.

Lastly, we offer a fantastic selection of spirits. We also have the state lottery, cigarettes, ice and mixes. All of this with plenty of parking in a clean and friendly store.

Established in 2010.

We opened our doors on July 19, 2010, and with over 50 years of combined experience, Morrissey Boulevard Wines and Liquors offers the most competitive pricing in Dorchester. Selection, price, service, friendliness and cleanliness is what separates us at Morrissey Boulevard.

Business Owner

John has 20 years experience from the restaurant /​bar side of the business. His partner, Jack, has over 25 years experience in the beer, wine and spirit business. Together, the two have created a wonderful store that is both accommodating and affordable. They are both very proud to serve the Dorchester community.

I don’t even live in Dorchester but every time I visit my friend I come here so I feel like it’s my own. Very convenient location with a huge selection of beer, wine and liquor. As winos we are fans of the Tulia Malbec two for deal– cheaper than the price at NH liquor store outlet where I usually would shop. Prices here are very competitive.

Pretty, pretty good craft beer selection and a bonanza if you happen to be staying at the Comfort Inn or Ramada across the street on Morrissey. (Do NOT attempt to walk there, however, even though you can see it from the hotel. You will not survive to enjoy your beer.)
A good selection of New England IPAs which would have been even better if they had not been displaced by pumpkin ales and Oktoberfests. (Memo to self: in future give up beer for month of October.) But you can’t blame them for responding to their clientele.
I happened to be in search of one beer that was missing in 24 oz size and the proprietor found it down the shelf in a growler. So ask if you don’t see what you want. Note: they are in the same parking lot as a very popular Chinese restaurant so you may need to circle or wait a bit.

Great selection of cider (and I suppose other things). I was in the mood for hard cider, and this place had several brands to choose from: Downeast, Angry Orchard, Smith & Forge, Magners, Woodchuck, an offering from Harpoon, and maybe one other one I’m forgetting — anyway WAAAAYYYY more than most of the places in my immediate neighborhood.

I’ve been a Unilocal lurker for years. Years! Every so often I tell myself I should start paying the community back for all the good advice by writing reviews. I’ve had fleeting instances of considering it but never have an experience worth saying much about. After my first trip to Morrissey Boulevard Wines and Liquors, I knew I could wait no longer. I have to share how awesome this place is!
As a recent transport from Cambridge to Dorchester, I’m still getting familiar with businesses over here. I spent lots of time reading Unilocal reviews about where I could find the best stock of home bar essentials, in particular bitters. I stopped by this place — tucked in a plaza next to CVS — and expected to find a lot of wine and a million flavors of vodka. In short, I expected to be disappointed.
Instead, I found a great selection and a super friendly staff. They were happy to answer any questions and point out some great locally-​made spirits. I even managed to find a bottle of Angostura bitters. I explained I was on the hunt for a stock of bitters for my home bar and was told to jot down my info on the mailing list and make note of it. I just got an e-​mail today from Mary — who found me a five-​pack of bitters and already has it set aside. Customer service done right.

Recently moved to the area and found this place while heading to the CVS next door (can you say CONVENIENT!). Prices were better than other stores nearby, the store looked neat and clean, and staff was friendly. Good stuff!

Rising from the ashes of an old Blockbuster Video store comes one of the finest places to get adult beverages in the Dorchester/​Boston area. It always amazes me how much product they have been able to cram into the retail footprint. The selection here is excellent, especially when it comes to the beers, chilled or not. Plus if you are not sure they have something? Just call, email or hope on their Facebook page. Their knowledgeable staff will skillfully navigate you through the many brands. If they don’t carry it, they will even order it for you. It is also nicely situated next to a 24 hour CVS pharamacy & close enough to Lambert’s, Citizen’s Bank, National Warehouse Liquidators & more that it could be an one stop shopping trip. Parking is ample & free. The store also has a small built in redemption center & a mail box is also nearby. I have a package store right around the corner from my house but I make it a point to stop here instead because of the selection, expertise & price.

Solid selection and a very accessible spot on Morrissey Boulevard if you’re in the neighborhood. They always have cold Bota Box chardonnay which is a bonus for me. It’s a pretty good size store with lots of lower-​priced wine to choose from as well as any kind of hard liquor you can imagine.

ok, so I gave the cashiers a great laugh when I got confused on how to actually get into the store. hilarity for all! I needed a moscato for dinner and wanted one that wasn’t overly sweet. The cashier knew exactly which one i should get and he was not wrong. I wound up buying 2 bottles of 311 and it was delicious. the store looks like they have a great selection and i loved the price i paid for the two bottles. Will definitely be coning back and i’ll probably pick the brains of the two cashiers again. I’ll also say that it didn’t hurt that the cashier thought I was younger until she saw my ID. Anytime I get the compliment «I would have guessed you were much younger» that place automatically becomes my «go-​to» spot. So MWL, YOU guys are now my liquor stop for dinner wines and afternoon beers!!!

Honestly there’s a problem every time I come here whether it be my ID or the way I’m paying, which mind you I don’t have a problem anywhere else. I’d rather go the distance to another place but I’m disappointed there’s some nice people who work here.

We live within ten minutes walking distance of three different liquor stores in Dorchester. Of the three, we refer to the Morrissey Boulevard store as «the nice one». I usually get cider here and sometimes hard alcohol, and they have a pretty good selection of both. I don’t drink beer or wine, but it looks like they have a lot of those as well. The staff is nice and I’ve never had a bad experience here.

They have some good wine options and the prices are great.

I had no idea the awesomeness that was behind those walls! I went in just looking for a simple bottle of wine, chosen by its cool label of course)… The staff were not only super friendly, asking me if I needed help finding anything, but suggested several different bottles of amazing wine! Yeah, they have the regular crappy wine that everyone else has but they also have a huge selection of really nice stuff that you don’t feel like you need to drink out of a paper bag. They also have a great beer and liquor selection. I’ll be going back for sure!

This is why I am Dorchester by Choice: expert owner who stocks more than your run-​of-​the-​mill OE. I went on a quest to find Pretty Things Beer and this is the only place in the Dot to have it. The owner is knowledgeable, friendly, and takes suggestions (Abita and Anchor Steam, please), plus there are drinks for every price point. Lots of selection, and wine tasting on Fridays. Now you can enjoy variety, and it’s right around the corner. DBC – it just gets better and better!

Nice new, big liquor store in the old Blockbuster building on Morrissey (next to CVS, same plaza as Lambert’s). It’s still missing some signage… but it’s brand new — that’s to be expected.
Had a relatively quiet opening… but inside, has a great selection of beer (including many solid micros), nice wine selection, and the hard stuff, too. Prices are reasonable, and they have a lot of good low-​end wine deals.
Everyone working there has been super nice, they have wine tastings in store… and it’s in a great location.
