Codman Square Health Center is a community-​based, outpatient health care and multi-​service center. We go beyond providing clinical solutions to medical conditions — our goal is promote a culture of health in our community. Our service area includes 50,000 individuals in the heart of Dorchester, recording 110,000 clinical visits each year.

The strength of Codman Square Health Center lies in both the quality of its health care providers and clinical facilities, as well as in the depth and breadth of our community services. Our initiatives address the social, emotional and educational needs of adults and youth while celebrating the cultural and ethnic diversity of the community and the potential of every individual.

Services we offer include: Primary Care (Family, Pediatrics, Women and Child, Internal), Urgent Care, Eye Care, Dental Care, Behavioral Health, Pharmacy, Radiology, Lab, Case Management, Nutrition, and Community Programs

History

Established in 1979.

We opened our doors in 1979 with a dream: to build the best urban community in America. As part of this dream, we recognized that though health care begins by alleviating sickness, the journey to a true «culture of health» is achieved through the health of the whole person, and through the health of the whole community. Our two-​physician staff that summer of 1979 may have been small, but our mantra was not: while disease is a lack of health, health is not simply a lack of disease.

Today, with a staff of 280 employees, expert clinicians and medical staff, and an astounding depth and breadth of community programs, we believe that we are on our way toward reaching our dream of building the best urban community in America. Meet the Manager

Sandra C.

Manager

Sandra joined Codman Square Health Center in 1994 as Chief Operating Officer. In February of 2011, the Board of Directors appointed her as Chief Executive Officer of the Health Center.

She began her career in health care as a Nurse. She worked as a nurse for Mass General Hospital and New England Medical Center. In 1985 she transitioned into an administrative role in the health insurance industry. She worked at Bay State Health Care where she held several positions. She ended her career there as the Vice President of Clinical Services.

In addition to her role as CEO of Codman Square Health Center, she is also co-​CEO of Dotwell, a partnership organization that was formed between the Dorchester House Multi-​Service Center and Codman Square Health Center. Dotwell provides non-​clinical services to patients of both health centers.
